They took one look at him and knew he was bad off. They immediately took my baby and rushed him to the back and begin working on him. They allowed me to stand there and observe everything they did to my King. I am a medical person and I am familiar with the processes of triage patients with emergencies. The physician performed a sonogram and began to tell me my options of care. I had to make the most difficult decision in my life. I decided not to be selfish and to have my King put to rest. This facility not only comfort me, but my family as well. They gave us a room and told us to take our time, they offered refreshments and continually checked on us. They just went out of their way with compassion and concern. I have never experienced this type of Customer Service in my entire life. It made me and my family feel heard and understood about our wishes. Once my family completed our goodbyes and they put our King to rest, they comfort my family, some even shared tears with us. They gave us things to remember our baby boy King that I will cherish forever. This hospital will always hold a special place in my heart. This is a place that I would love to work at and be proud to say that I worked there because each and every person who works in that building are Gods angels, and truly care about the animals that they treat. I will always be grateful. I know this was God's plan because it all went perfectly. Yes, I left without a dog, but I now have a new family that I would cherish with my other pets. Thank you again to each and every one of the staff who comfort my family, who gave my comforting hugs and who helped my King. I pray that this establishment continue to employee such phenomenal people who I believe are Angels. I would recommend this pet hospital anyone will listen. I am forever grateful.

By the third visit, Dr. Podriza--who is probably one of the kindest people on the planet--took the time to really look closely at the X-rays and noticed something that needed more attention. We originally thought it might have just been something minor from a nail trim, but our baby ended up needing to stay overnight. The next morning, Dr. Biquet came in, did additional X-rays, and figured out exactly what was going on. You should have seen her face when she solved it--it was such a moment of relief. It was truly their teamwork, attention to detail, and how much they genuinely care that made all the difference. I really feel like they saved my dog, and I'm so grateful. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

I would rate my experience with "NO STARS" if that were an option!…read more I am extremely disappointed with the care my pet, Nikki, received during her visit on 02/23/26. This is especially upsetting because my experiences with this clinic in 2023/2024 was excellent, and I previously felt confident in the level of care provided. Unfortunately, the quality of care has declined significantly. At this visit, I was advised that Nikki's labs were "all good." I later learned that the appropriate labs for her symptoms were never performed, including basic indicators of infection such as a white blood cell count. When I took Nikki to my regular veterinarian on 02/26/26, he had to repeat the labs, and her WBC was found to be elevated, indicating infection or inflammation. Additionally, the X‑rays taken during the visit were poor quality and did not include proper spinal views. My vet advised the images were difficult to interpret and incomplete, requiring all imaging to be redone. Those repeat images revealed a prolapsed spinal disc, which was not identified or ruled out during the initial visit despite Nikki showing neurological symptoms. The vet at this clinic suggested a possible inner or middle ear issue and recommended motion sickness medication and an ear wash. When I asked if starting an antibiotic would be appropriate, I was told it was "invasive," which was concerning and unclear, as antibiotics are not invasive. Ultimately, my vet diagnosed Nikki with an infection affecting her central nervous system along with a prolapsed disc, requiring antibiotics and steroids--treatment that was delayed due to the initial misdiagnosis and incomplete diagnostics. Because of this visit: Nikki's infection and spinal condition went undetected Appropriate treatment was delayed Labs and imaging had to be repeated elsewhere My pet endured unnecessary risk, discomfort, and stress I am sharing this review because I previously trusted this clinic and had positive experiences in the past. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and reevaluates diagnostic processes, imaging quality, and clinical decision‑making so other pets do not experience similar delays in care. To make matters worse, I paid $789.13 for this visit and left with no answers, and ultimately, the wrong ones. I then had to incur additional costs elsewhere to receive an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment.

Brazos Animal Hospital - My fur baby getting worse after surgery...

I took my dog in for a scheduled spay after she got an infection from her last heat cycle a month…read moreearlier. Brazos Animal Hospital called five times within a two day period before the scheduled surgery. Two of the phone calls were to confirm that I was still coming and three of the phone calls were to make sure I was aware of the estimated cost of the expensive spay procedure. I also received one more phone call 40 minutes after I picked up my dog after the surgery letting me know that the correct meds were delivered to them 20 minutes after I left. This was a confusing phone call because Brazos Animal Hospital sent me home with the correct meds, but in a form that just needed to be doubled up to reach the original prescription. Evidently, they neglected to communicate with each other about the amended meds. Then...crickets. There was no follow up phone call to check on my fur baby's status after surgery. I just followed the instructions to keep her quiet and calm for the next two weeks until she healed. To be fair, an infection in the uterus was discovered during the surgery...which was an unexpected complication. However, the spay surgery was still treated like a normal surgery despite their findings to the contrary upon opening her up and discovering she had pyometra. My fur baby's health slowly deteriorated during her recovery at home over the next few days until I felt the need to take her to I-20 Animal Hospital as a precaution. After completing an ultrasound, they discovered she still had an infection in her abdomen that was not removed during the spay. The incision made during the initial spay surgery was not long enough to see or reach all of the infected areas. A small incision is fine for a routine spay, but not for a spay complicated by a pyometra infection. During the second emergency surgery it was discovered that my dog had multiple blood clots from internal bleeding from Brazos Animal Hospital not treating the pyometra and continuing the surgery like a regular spay. The type of sutures used for a regular spay were not adequate for her enlarged organs as a result of the pyometra infection, resulting in internal bleeding. I paid Brazos Animal Hospital over $600 to have my fur baby slowly suffer for four days and finally escalate to the point where an emergency vet was required. When Brazos Animal Hospital saw the enlarged organs and infection present during the procedure, the routine spay should have immediately changed to a pyometra surgery so that all of the infection could be located and removed. I know mistakes can happen, but I just feel like Brazos Animal Hospital cared more for the potential money to be earned than they did for my fur baby's health. Once they received their money, they were basically done with me and all communication stopped. I went back there in person to tell them everything that I am writing here so that they can (hopefully) make improvements in the future when dealing with the beloved pet of someone else. Honestly, I won't be back, though. Too many mistakes were made that could have easily been averted. The trust is gone as a result of this $600+ blunder. My beloved dog has now spent two days at I-20 Animal Hospital with a vet bill of $3,000+ (and climbing) and I still do not know if she will live through the experience as I-20 Animal Hospital tries to fix everything that went wrong at Brazos Animal Hospital. If my dog lives through this, I'll just make it a point to go to I-20 Animal Hospital where I have always received exceptional care...and a follow-up phone call to check on my fur baby. In my opinion, it is worth the drive to get professional expert care from a team of vets that I trust. Update: Thanks to I-20 Animal Hospital my fur baby will survive the experience of getting her spay done here. The vets there are still talking about the "stump" that they had to remove during the emergency surgery to save her life. My advice for anyone utilizing the services of Brazos Animal Hospital is to do your research and follow your heart.

Last week, after our longtime vet left the country for a much-needed vacay, our orange tabby gal (Blossom) became very ill. Prior to our vet's departure, she treated Blossom's troubling ambulatory issues. All seemed to be going well--at least until Blossom developed some worrisome respiratory symptoms. PARC did a great job caring for our eldest super senior cat, Druscilla, who had an health scare during our vet's last vacation in October 2024. Dr. Melanie Aschenberg did a fantastic job with Druscilla. She explained her treatment protocol and was very understanding. The vet tech was also wonderful with Dru, so we knew we had to contact PARC again. Just like the time prior, PARC staff were incredibly professional, accommodating, and understanding: from Alyssa (sp?) who accepted our intake call, to Cheryl (sp?) the vet tech, and to Dr. John Strohneyer, who was extremely professional, informative. He was really great with Blossom (who can be terribly skittish). Dr. Strohmeyer thoroughly evaluated Blossom and explained his diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan. He also informed us of available options so that we could make informed decisions. Once again, PARC provided our cat exceptional care. If you're looking for great pet health care, I enthusiastically recommend PARC.
