Dr. Winters should receive all five stars. The reason for the lower starts is for the front desk women. We have been going to this office for many years. One day several years ago, My young children and I came to pick up our three dogs from boarding after a few days of stay. We paid our dues but I wondered why it was more expensive and politely asked for an itemized receipt. This made the front desk woman upset and she started talking down to me. After reluctantly receiving the receipt, it was then discovered that we were charged for two separate kennel stays when we requested one for our three dogs to share so they weren't alone. This meant that one of our dogs was placed by himself the whole time (very sad about this). It was hard to hear and so I asked how this happened and this is when that same woman started yelling at me as if I was a bad-behaved child. I tearfully but quietly got upset and calmly wanted to ask more questions, but she wouldn't let me - she shut me down by talking down to me and getting mad. This embarrassed my children and it was done in front of others waiting in the lobby. I swallowed my pride and sat down to wait for our dogs to come out (holding back tears and settling my children's anxiety about what just happened). She then proceeded to talk about me to her co-worker in front of me, my children, and everyone in the lobby. Super unprofessional and embarrassing. After that day, my husband took care of all our veterinary needs as we didn't want to have to establish a new relationship somewhere else and we really like Dr. Winters. We moved out of the area and thankfully I will never have to see that woman in the valley again. It was a mortifying experience. I would recommend better up-front management, maybe a camera system if you don't already have one while routinely watched by the doctors themselves as it seems, this is typical behavior from the front desk staff (based on some of these other reviews) read more

Once again Countryside Vet took wonderful care of my 12 year old Golden Retriever. She had a tumor that had to come off. Two days later they removed it and she is fine. Short notice and a very skilled team. They even gave her extra attention and brushed her and trimmed her long nails while she woke up which they didn't have to do. I was somewhat apprehensive about taking my Burmese cat to a clinic that also sees a lot of dogs since I am used to going to a cats-only clinic. However, the staff were all very friendly and the vet Dr. Schneider was excellent with Leopold. He has a history of eye problems so I needed a vet for a flare up. Countryside was the most convenient so I went for it. Turns out he has a scratch on his cornea. He needed meds, one from a compounding lab (FYI there are no compounding labs in Wenatchee) and the Dr helped get his special eye drops ordered, as well as prescribed antibiotics to prevent infection. Probably exactly what the cats-only clinic in Seattle would have done. Very pleased with the care. The doc's bedside manner was very caring as well. If you have anxious cats I recommend making a mid-morning appointment after the morning dog check-in rush. The lobby was calm and quiet at 9:30 am. Also, the reception desk staff were friendly and attentive. No rudeness whatsoever in my experience. UPDATE: Since the visit with the cat, I have drought my rescue dog here for care. I have seen different doctors at different times and all have been very good. No pressure, and the groomers there do a great job with wash/groom/nail trim too! read more

I've been looking for a new vet as both my dogs are now due for their annual checkups and vaccinations, I tried making an appointment with Countryside and was informed that I would need to go to the website for new patient registration. I called her back requesting to register over the phone as I wasn't comfortable giving my date of birth, drivers license number, employer and employer contact information, frankly, its absurd that they are even asking for such personal information. Why?? The receptionist was indifferent, not rude but I could tell she was annoyed, she told me I would have to come in to fill out the patient registration form, then wait a couple of days to make an appointment. Again, why???? I'm not driving an hour, simply to fill out a registration form! After the call I decided to look further into this clinic and was alarmed with all the one star reviews here and on google, especially the hidden ones, behind the 'not recommended' wall.. I used to love and respect this place. So much that I argued they were the best when I was adopting my puppy, but the place wouldn't adopt unless I agreed to take her elsewhere and was warned against my five other animals. I brushed it off, but I took my puppy to the other place like agreed on. That's when the issues started. I had one dog have a medical emergency back in September and Countryside said they were full and not taking any exceptions. I took her to another Vet and she was fine after three injections. I forgave them still. A few week ago, another dog had an emergency and was literally bleeding all over my bathroom (as I'm crying) and they tell me they are booked and have no appts available. This time I can't forgive them because my dog would have died had I not gotten her to another vet immediately. I will never call them again and am transfer all my animals over to a vet that actually cares. read more

Very rude and condescending when explaining why a deposit is now required to book your appointments for your pets now due to policy changes because of Covid and no-shows. I have never no-showed and had the receptionist not been so short about her responses to my disappointment in never receiving a letter or email informing me of the policy changes, perhaps I would have opted to keep my services there after years of loyalty. Picked up my chihuahua that I had adopted from the humane society from them. They spayed her and TOTALLY BUTCHERED her. They implied they thought I would be spanish - totally offensive! I'm not spanish but that is pointless - the are prejudice and THAT OFFENDED me on top of the fact that the poor little girl was mutilated. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE! read more

I am not convinced that the 2 other reviews here are credible. The one from 12/15 is 1 sentence long and contains no factual evidence. And the one from 2/16 spent alot of time complaining (on the phone AND on yelp) about something that quite frankly is out of the control of the staff. Its not that they don't care, they don't know. This has nothing to do with the vets themselves. PLUS, I know this practice to be SO good that they are always extremely busy. Geez~give the poor receptionists a break. Now, I have actually been to Countryside and they have been our vet for about a year. I shopped around (and went to 2 other vets in the area). I am picky. I am very happy with them and I trust them to take the very best care of my dog. The staff at Countryside have always been friendly, helpful and professional. Dr. Winters removed a sarcoma from my black labs abdomen this past February. He was very patient, knowledgeable, answered all of my questions and explained everything very well. He has been doing this for years, and is very skilled in his profession. He did an excellent job. I highly recommend them to anyone who adore their pets as much I do. It's very important to me that I have a strong connection with my pet and veterinarian. They are to me an extension of my family. Their front desk needs some serious help. We have boarded our dogs 3 times and have been extremely disappointed everytime. I give detailed instructions, leave my phone number if a problem arises, call and meet face to face to be sure everyone is on the same page. We will not use this facility again. My dogs had pee and poo on them and their beds. I do not think they were given the opportunity to relieve themselves out doors properly. Boarded my animal here and the staff seemed totally oblivious. I asked them how the weekend had gone and the girl told me "oh I don't know, I wasn't with her". No one seemed to know. I got her in the car and on the way home I noticed she had very gross looking open sores on the sides of her lips. I called to speak with the "manager" who did not seem the least bit concerned and she just said she would call me tomorrow. My dog has been boarded many times and does great, nothing like this has ever happened before. I will not be using this place again and I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

I had an emergency situation with my Bernese Mountain Dog who was a big part of our family. The on call vet from this office, July 23,2019, called us as we were on our way and told us "we would have to wait",spoke of $200 , we said we didn't care, stated how many people do care, heard my boy with labored breathing, still going on about additional charges, I said are you meeting us there or not, she said "yes but that we would have to wait"? She also stated that there "were no emergency clinics " in the Wenatchee Valley. We got there, pulling in and seen a couple of staff members going in, my boy stopped breathing, I jumped out of the truck, ran over to the glass door and started pounding and shouting for someone to come out, my husband was massaging our boy to try to wake him up, I contacted the emergency service call line again to call the vet to get out here and that we were there. She was inside and came out and she said "I told you that you would have to wait ". She came out with no stethoscope, I ask her to go back in and get it and then go over to my dog and pronounce him deceased and then I'll pay her the $200. In short, that vet had no compassion or empathy or any intentions of helping us when we were on route or when we arrived because she was there and came out with nothing . My boy passed away at 7:20 am and she came out at 7:25 am , they open at 7:30am . She should have been outside waiting or at least inside watching for us. I just want people to know so this does not happen again. read more

We have taken our dogs to Countryside for vaccinations, grooming and boarding (which is very decently priced) and our cat got spayed here. We have had nothing but great experiences. It is always clean, the receptionists are always friendly and helpful and the doctors take all time needed to check our animals and answer questions. I have been bringing my dogs to Countryside Vet for four years. I was very happy with the clinic until recently. One of my dogs, Lucy, was diagnosed with lymphoma in March 2019. The vets were initially very compassionate and helped me figure out how to treat her. Lucy took a turn for the worse last week. I called the clinic shortly after 8am to have her seen urgently. I was told by the front desk that I would have to wait until the next day, late afternoon before they had an opening. Reluctantly, I took the appointment time. I checked on Lucy a few hours later and she was declining, I again called the clinic and was told if I could be there in 15 minutes Dr. Winters would see Lucy prior to his scheduled surgery. I raced to the clinic. I carried Lucy in and was put in an exam room, my dog laying on the exam table in bad shape. The tech said she had a high fever. Dr. Winters came in and was very rude. He had with him a printout of a survey that I had just filled out, which was sent to me a few hours earlier regarding an appointment I had earlier in the week for another dog. I was frustrated when I filled out the survey and very frank with my comments. Dr. Winters was always very friendly and informative, but this time he had a very cold demeanor. He said if I wasn't confident in the clinic, to take my dog and go somewhere else. I already was very distraught, thinking my dog was dying. Lucy had a fever and Dr. Winters said she was dehydrated. What was I to do? Collect my dog off the exam table and go to another clinic, when Countryside had been treating her and was well aware of her condition? We all knew the expected outcome of her cancer. I didn't have time to spare. Dr. Winters said he would get to her when he could fit her in. I felt I had no options, and let him take her. I went home, very upset. I knew she had a fever and was dehydrated, and decided I wanted Lucy to spend her last days at home, not laying around at the clinic. Since Dr. Winters told me it would be a while until he was able to get to her, I decided I wanted Lucy back immediately. I called the front desk, less than an hour after I dropped Lucy off, and told them I was coming back to get Lucy and do not do any more procedures. There was no sense running up my bill since she was terminal. I figured there would be minimal charges, an office visit and possibly blood work. When I got there the front desk presented me with a bill for $531. I was shocked! I have often overheard the front desk numerous times refer people to Cascade Vet if they can't handle the wait times...good advice. read more

I've used this veterinary clinic on and off for 20 years and sadly, will likely not return. I had an appointment for two pets and had troubles getting my rescue cat into a crate. I called their office to let them know I was running late. I was indeed 15 minutes late and when I walked in they said "sorry, you will have to reschedule". I would be absolutely fine with this HAD I NOT CALLED to let them know I was running late and then saying alright. Instead I wasted an hour in my car with two upset animals for absolutely no reason. Why not mention my appointment will have to be rescheduled when I called? So simple, no? The receptionist was cold and acted like it's my fault for being late. Again, I called. You just lost another loyal client for your disrespectful front end support staff. read more

They are very caring! when we had a pet emergency on a Sunday the on-call Vet took 2 hours to respond. They were the back-up. Upon our second call to the Vet911 they responded in 10 min, and were being seen before the original vet even called. I'll never take my pets anywhere else. read more
