Refuses to Service What They Install…read more Some time back, this competent plumber installed a new water heater for us. After a while, it started to shut off unexpectedly.  Repeatedly.  Then the excuses started.  There is a bubble in your supply line (disproven by time). The plumber is in the hospital, we can't help you.  Most recently, we have a second person now...and then two days later, we don't travel that far anymore, we won't help you, we're canceling your appointment. We're stuck with a bum water heater, that never worked right.  Nice people, decent skills, but NEVER hire them. No honor!

The biggest issue: they simply could not keep appointments. Frequent no-shows, missed windows, and last-minute reschedules turned routine maintenance into a recurring hassle. The second issue: constant upselling. Nearly every visit came with a "the system is fine" but we recommend additional products or upgrades. The final incident made us cancel: They performed routine maintenance on a system that was working fine when they arrived. After the maintenance, the HVAC unit wouldn't turn on. We were told it was "about to fail" and the maintenance did not cause the failure. (Debatable.) Conveniently, they had the part on hand but would only install it if we paid out of pocket - even though the part was under warranty. (Don't worry, another company replaced the same part under warranty the following day.) I would think carefully before signing up for a membership.

At that point, when I got under the house and saw how bad the pipes were, I thought I'd bite the bullet and have a real plumber bring the entire system up to building code standards. I had used CV Plumbing before and the owner, Chris Vine, had always come quickly, fixed the problem du jour, and his prices were reasonable so I called him. He came immediately and not only replaced the water lines but also replaced the waste lines, and all at an affordable price! AND did it all without interrupting our construction schedule!
