Countryside Mall is fixing things up inside. They have new rugs and furniture for extra lounge spots perfect for our hot and humid summers. It's getting nicer and homier. I would definitely come back. We like to walk inside. We do some browsing and window shopping but mostly walk with our dog Mocha Coconut. They use to have a fit if he was there, but not so much now. He needs to walk inside somewhere too and this is a perfect spot for us to get our steps in the A/C which actually works. Citrus Park Mall A/C didn't work the last time we were there. They are getting a new Mini So store. The Garra Experience Spa catches my attention but I would never do it. It is where the fish eat your dead skin on your feet. There's a movie theater here and a Whole Foods and Cheesecake Factory as well as Bacon Street Diner. Anchor stores are JC penney, Dillards, Macy's. They also like to highlight local artists with wall decor and paintings which is really nice. I'd def come back here. I do love all the nice seating areas and the walking areas.

Stopped by the mall to see any new changes. Of course, there are fewer kiosks and a fair amount of shuttered stores. However, there's a lot of new stores open that make it worth going to the mall. For Christmas, the Santa photo opportunity is set up near the Sears 1st floor entrance. Overall, the mall is still neat and tidy and the food court remains viable.

Its been 4 years since we visited Countryside Mall and while several stores have changed, several more have taken their place. Nice restaurants to choose from, shopping was good and a nice food court (smaller) for a light lunch. Nice to see the movie cinema is still there. Worth a visit if you are staying in Clearwater Beach and want to spend a few hours.

So we haven't been to a mall in ages. This one still has the ice skating rink! Came here to eat at the Cheesecake Factory and see a movie.

    Here is Mila's Lela Bear
    Carmen G.

My best friend and I went to Build a Bear Workshop to pick up a gift for our granddaughter. So our Mila sees me via FaceTime and thinks I'm her entertainment, lol. I have to immediately sing "La Linda manita" song for her. So Jeanette and I picked out a bear, stuffed it added a vibrating heart and I recorded my song for her. We dressed up her "Lela" Bear and of course I made it smell like me before shipping it off to Connecticut. Sarah was great! She was patient with us. They took our picture and we left very happy.

Countryside Mall is great to hop in and out when you need a store in the mall,They have an ice skating rink in the center of the mall which is amazing. They have a bounce house place for kids which I'm excited to take my son to soon! They have staples like the Cheesecake Factory and Dillards and Mac which is my favorite!! I love Mac! Yesterday we took more time walking around mall to really get the layout of it and it seriously reminds me of my teenage years from the 80s and 90s! Lol it's a great mall and they do have what you need and the food court is good I do love that parking is easy to get there and coming from Texas that's saying a lot!! The next time you're in the area go check out countryside mall

    Pho to go
    Melony R.

What a great food option right in the mall! Absolutely love Vietnamese food, so when I came back to Countryside after moving away I was shocked to see a Pho place right in front of the food court. I went back yesterday because I had business in Clearwater, so I went to Countryside after work hours and decided to get Pho to go, which is the only way I've ever had it here. They give you a branded paper Pho bowl that they put the noodles and meat in. Then they give you a plastic container with the broth and a baggie with sprouts, jalapenos and a lime. I can almost swear I had Thai Basil the last time I got Pho here, but there wasn't any in my baggie or in the bowl when I got home. I have to note that I live in Tampa now, so my Pho broth was still hot enough to cook the beef when I poured it into the bowl. The beef is sliced very thin, which makes this Pho easy to tear and eat with sprouts and thinly sliced jalapeno. The broth is okay. It was a little light...not as robust as I would have liked. All in all, you can't ask for much better in a mall food court. I wish this were available at Citrus Park Mall.

    Beef pho, 6 stars!

This place is great! I would highly recommend. I was surprised, because it's a booth in the mall, but the pho is just as good as any I've had. It was also my daughter's first time, and she loved it :-)

Decent size mall. Good prize parking lot. Few sales here and there! Gotta look around to find a good deal. Fairly priced. Clean mall.

I'm not able to go as much as I'd like, but a visit here at Christmastime is always quite enjoyable! This mall still has a decent occupancy rate, an acceptable food court, several sit-down dining options, a nice movie theater, and even an ice skating rink. The attached Whole Foods is also a plus, IF you can afford shopping there! (I always look online at their weekly sales items before I visit). Since so many of our former indoor malls have been converted to outdoor "strip malls," I'm very glad Countryside has so far survived the preference for online shopping and still exists!

We went last night and parked by JCPenneys we walked down to the opposite end of the Mall and sat before we walked back.. We reached Penney's to find it locked up at 8:00. Everything on line says they are open till 9:00. It was difficult for my husband to walk and we had a good distance to walk outside the mall to get to our car. We found an open door to Penney's and entered and were told to leave that they were closed and waiting for one customer to leave. I asked if we could go through to the other door and was told a definite no. I tried to explain my husband couldn't walk far and we were locked outside. So I'm writing this to warn anyone who is disabled that the mall closes at 8:00 now.

The "We Don't Do Sales" Mall…read more Yesterday was Mother Daughter Day and after not seeing my mother for over 30 days I wanted to give her a proper Tampa day. The bay, the walkways, some shopping, and a stop at Columbia Restaurant which honestly was not good. Then we went to International Plaza and Bay Street thinking we would do what we always do. Browse, hunt, and find something great on sale. That is how WE shop. We walked into Altar'd State and asked where the sale section was. We were told they do not do sales there. Not even a small rack in the back. .. thought maybe it's just that store Then we went into Dillard's and asked the same question. The woman looked us up and down like we had three heads and gave us the same answer. Finally I made the realization . . This mall is built for people who pay full price and do not question it. To be fair, it is beautiful. Clean, polished, very well put together. A strong mix of stores and a surprising number of high end brands. Completely different than what I expected and it threw me off my game. But there is no thrill here. No hunt. No digging. No moment where you find that one piece that makes the whole trip worth it. Have fun shopping at full price here. I am not one of those people. I do not pay full retail ever and I am not starting now. And I know plenty of wealthy people who can afford to pay full price and they will not do it either. They know better.

For me, this outdoor strip "mall" is a mix of both good and bad…read more The only real reason I ever visit here is that it the closest, decent "mass retail" hub near where I live. The GOOD: The Publix here is one of the best in our area. A former Albertsons, then a Safeway, it is very large and managed well. The Target is OK, but often jam-packed. I prefer the quieter shopping experience at the other store on Park street. The Petsmart is great and the service is always friendly. The staff at the Michael's location here are always very helpful. I find the Labcorp location to be the best and most efficient that I have ever visited. Smiley Thai is one of the best kept Thai take-out "secrets" in our area! The BAD: There is a significant amount of "bad characters" that often congregate here, especially after dark. Unfortunately, this appears to be more common when there is a major "bus hub" in the area, like the one just south of Target. There always seems to be a small group of them loitering just south of the Publix, hoping that I have spare wealth to gladly and willingly give away for unknown reasons. My apologies, but I am on a strict budget. Don't ever fall in love with a smaller store here. They come and go often. The turnover rate is quite high. I miss that "Bulk Nation" location! They used to have my favorite movie theater here, but I have not been to any since 2013. People constantly checking their cell phones every 5 minutes ruined the experience for me, forever. Never again So try your luck, you may really enjoy shopping here!

We have a history with snacks from Japan, and we struck gold with Daiso in Clearwater FL!…read more This store advertises itself as a seller of Japanese household good, and we stopped in to see if they had any cute magnets we could get for a 2-year-old in the family. While we fanned out through aisles of kitchen and beauty products, useful gadgets and supplies, I went looking for snacks. I found wall refrigerators on the left near the front of the store filled with all sorts of beverages. I got a couple of canned and bottled coffee drinks, which we all agreed were nicely flavored and quite sweet. We got our favorite, Ramune: a mild tasty lemonade with a slight fizz. The bottle is unique, with a clear marble trapped in a little chamber that rattles when you drink or pour and is said to help keep the light carbonation longer. And it has a push-button top that you press in to open and to release the little ball into the bottle. I think the fun of opening it and hearing that rattle are a big part of the fun of drinking Ramune. There are several flavors, but we always get the original lemonade flavor. Nearby, I discovered a snack rack, and behind it there were at least two whole aisle-sections filled with every Asian snack and treat that I know! All flavors of Pockys! All flavors of filled Panda cookies! Crispy snacks with shrimp and fish and chicken flavors! And the candy from Japan that I look for everywhere, that is hard to find outside of Asian neighborhood stores in Chicago and NYC ... Botan Ame! It's little cubes of soft translucent rice-candy, very lightly flavored, and double-wrapped: the inner wrapper is melt-in-your-mouth rice paper! The flavor is said to be lemon, but only very mildly lemon orange (imitating pomelo fruit), very mildly creamy, very mildly rice-y. There are several flavors available, including strawberry or pomelo, but I've always gotten the original. It's gently chewy, originally meant to imitate the softness of caramel-candy, or you can try to wait and let the candy dissolve after the rice paper is gone, though i've never heard of anyone who waits that long before biting in :-). The closest candy texture that i know of is fresh soft Turkish delight. And similarly, Botan Rice Candy gets tougher if you leave it on the shelf a long time. I suppose it dehydrates a little. I read it was invented in 1924. Long ago we only saw the same candy called Tomoe Ame, and the brightly colorful red and green or red and blue box looked almost the same. Each box used to come with a little plastic or metal toy, but eventually that changed to temporary tattoos of cute cartoon characters. Nowadays I've seen Tomoe Ame in large bags, too, online. I was happily lost in the candy, snacks, and beverages, and have no idea what everyone else bought. I'm pretty sure we did come home with some stickers and magnets and maybe some little toys. I myself found my new source for good old rice candy! To (mis)quote Shakespeare, What's in a name? That which I call Tomoe Ame, by any other word would taste as (slightly) sweet :-)
