My neighbor was having Brian Bish replace his driveway. Initially I wasn't planning on replacing my driveway but got to talking with Brian and he wanted to walk over and provide me with a quote. $7,000. I wish I had never said ok to providing me the quote, primarily because of the cost, asked if he could do a 10% discount for seniors, I'm 75. He agreed and did the work.
I hadn't seen my neighbors work completed before agreeing to have the work done (bad on me) and (bad on me) for not asking if the work would be done in 2 layers - my existing driveway had a split in the middle the bisected it in two at the middle of the pavement, thinking that two layers would help prevent a similar situation in the future. No, only one layer was done and there were sections of the asphalt that appeared as aggregate segregation(stone where tar doesn't surround the stone fully to provide a smooth and filled in look). There were several sections that give me concern as to how long Brian's work will last.
Another stake in the heart was my neighbor on the other side of me told me after the fact that a local paver in Spencer did his driveway, almost the same size as mine for $4000 and laid down 2 layers.
To top it all off, Brian asked me for soda to give to his crew.
This next issue wasn't big but could have made a cleaner and more professional look if the workers would have edged the driveway before taking up the old pavement to keep clean straight lines in the lawn instead of having to reseed grass along an uneven tearing up of the lawn.

* I called Brian within a week of the job completion asking about the "asphalt aggregation", and soon my call was dropped . I followed up right away on three attempts to reconnect and went directly to voicemail.
BEWARE using Country Paving. I'm responsible for my own problems but having to do it all over again with Brian - I wouldn't!! read more
