Some trails are by the river, but when you turn inland it is hilly. This area also connects to paved trail along Rottenwood Creek, but the wooded trails are more interesting. Everyone enjoyed our time. Bathrooms are available here near the parking lot. Well worth a stop. Enjoy the outdoors!

The others the swings are so hot you would burn your bum! Im not sure what geniuses are building playgrounds these days but atleast have some areas shaded! This is not the closest park to the familys house but its worth us going to. The smaller park is good for small children. The larger park has higher play equipment, climbing walls, slides, big kid swings, etc along with things for small children. There are more kids at this part of the park so we do walk over for a few minutes to people watch but since I dont have a walker we really dont spend much time here yet.

The gate off Clifton Road is blocked for cars, so we parked at Hahn Park off Houston Mill and walked in. It has the added advantage that you walk by the ruins of the actual mill and by the suspension pedestrian bridge over South Peachtree Creek. Lullwater itself is beautiful. Very friendly fellow hikers. We made one circuit around the lake and headed back to where we started. Technically you are supposed to have an Emory University if card to hike, but apparently no one has ever been stopped by Emory security. And be careful on the trail from Houston Mill to Lullwater: there's loads of poison ivy on both sides of the trail. Late at night while you're sleeping poison ivy comes a creeping all around. Take a snack and water. Lullwater has no facilities. But it is super well maintained by Emory.

There is a deck that you can pay to park in at the Emory Clifton campus - that is the closest parking I believe.

There didn't seem to be any trash on the ground or in the greenspace, I love that! (There were some water bottles on a bench with a yoga mat that seemed to be abandoned, but they looked like they were *just* left behind.) It wasn't super busy on the weeknight that we visited, so the kids could all play comfortably. There are two different playing structures, one for bigger kids and one for the smaller kids. We ventured over to the area for the littles, but of course my little boy wanted to be with the big kids, lol. The play area for the big kids had huge slides, some cool balancing structure, just all kinds of fun - if I sound jealous, it's because I am, lol. The area for the toddlers was adorable and has a little slide, some cool balancing pedestals, swings and more. My son had too much fun going up and down the slide over and over again. A cute spot to take your kids to play outside!

Also, I often see a lot of people out playing soccer and sometimes football on the well manicured lawn. A lighted tennis area is also provided. The area is well lighted so if you are an early morning walker you can still get your workout in.

This state park was a great find and only a 30 min drive from mid town. They had different trails for different levels of hiking. Our trail ran alongside the creek and we got to dip our legs in the water while others were swimming and tanning. If we weren't so tired we would have made a whole day of it!

I started bringing my pup here when he was about 3-4 months old and he's grown to love this park and even has friends we see here regularly. If you just want too walk your dog there's plenty of walking trails for that too! I've also been venting my daughter here since she was 2. We've enjoyed the splash pad and playgrounds alike. We've also attended different community festivals here that are always fun. Lastly, she loves going over to the skate park to watch the skaters. Sometimes I'll visit the park solo as well for walking as it has lovely walking trails. If you want a more serious/intense workout there's also an area for that. This park is truly amazing. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!

I made the suggestion to walk the trail instead of just walking around the neighborhood. Best decision ever! We started the trail at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area at Paces Mills. The trail length is 3.8 miles and offers a great work out. The terrain varies from flat to slightly inclined. In addition to getting that heart rate up you get to experience what feels like the perfect place to unwind and unplug. It's the sounds and sights for me! The waves created in the Chattahoochee river, the sounds of birds chirping, the sight of plush tees, and bridges. It truly is a natural escape from a busy suburban lifestyle. A few things to note: 1. You can access this trail from two different parking areas. The lot on Interstate North Parkway is free of charge. However, it is a small lot. The larger Lot at Paces Mill is $5.00 per day. You can make the payment via an app. 2. this is a multi- use trail. As such, you can find people doing a leisure walk, jogging, biking, skating etc. motorized items are not permitted on the trail. 3. if you don't own a bike, there are rentals available. The company that is located at this trail is called Movatics. You can find them in your App Store to get started with your rental. The advertisement notes that it is free for your first hour and $3.00 per hour after that. 4. The park is open from dusk to dawn just like most trails and parks. I highly recommend stopping by this trail, it will not disappoint!

The trailhead is located on Hwy 41 just north of the river. Parking appears plentiful, but I don't…read moreknow if it completely fills up on the weekend (as we visited on a Friday late-morning). You can access the lot from either direction on Hwy 41. You first need to pay the $5 parking fee to recreation.gov. The instructions are fairly easy to follow; the whole transaction is done via smartphone. It probably took 5 minutes or less. The paved trail heads east along the river and crosses under I-75 before turning north. The trail is well shaded for much of the way, though it gets sunny as it ascends a significant hill just before the 1-mile mark. That was about as far as we went on our initial visit, though the trail kept going for, I think, at least another mile. There are nice views of the creek as well as (early) of the river. When we went, there were a fair number of others walking or running, so it never seemed too isolated.
