Booked a trip to NJ to visit family in the area. Being cheap, flew Southwest, booked a car through…read moreThrifty and then wanted a place to get away in case they drove me nuts. Through one of the plethora of travel sites (rhymes with booking dot com) found this place. Prior reviews, not so good. Location, not so good. Yelp. Ugh. Okay, so why did I stay there? Thirty bucks a night. The next one up was at least fifty. If push comes to shove, impose on the relatives. Heck, I slept on the floor in SeaTac. How bad could it be? Well, the connecting flight was delayed (weather related with 6+ hours hanging in DIA) and I didn't get to PHL until 3AM. Wound up in room 110 in November -- Friday the 13th. Good: Heater worked. Blankets were fine. Parked right in front of the room. Didn't have to wait long to sign in and crash. It was quiet. There's a full sized LCD TV. Bad: No coffee in the morning in the room. Yes, $30 a night and the worst thing was there was no coffee in the room. Okay, NJ water sucks but what do you expect - buy bottled. For the price (Grand Cypress in FLA, Montbleu in Tahoe, Extended Stays and cheap motels) this is definately *WELL* worth the money. Seriously. $30 a night. It's quiet you don't get bothered, the beds are comfy and the TV works. But no coffee. Room 110: Non-smoking, not one of the jacuzzi rooms. Two rooms away from the office.

There's a bed, a bathroom and four walls. Nice TV with a lot of channels. And it's cheap. It will…read morecertainly suffice for a night or two if you had to. Here's the but- it's gross. When I went to pull the comforter down, the underside was covered in cigarette burns and more than one yellowish stain. Ew. But whatever, you are never supposed to sleep under those comforters anyway. That left only a thin sheet on the bed, with no other blankets in sight. I had to cover myself with a towel during the night because it was so cold!

Star Motel - This is just the tip of the dirty iceberg. Hasn't been cleaned in YEARS. Literally.

This place is absolutely awful. The only good thing I can say about it is that the old man who owns…read moreit is very nice. It is relatively quiet, mostly all weekly renters. They don't vacuum the rooms, or clean in general. The most the girl does is change the bedding, which looks just as nasty and dirty as the ones she took off. You get 2 hand towels, and mine had nasty black and brown stains all over them. As did the sheets and pillows. I wouldn't let my dog sleep on the sheets that were on the bed, and that's NO exaggeration. I had to buy towels and cleaning products for the bathroom before I would even THINK about showering. I would have felt more like I needed a shower from the shower.... Its that bad. Also, my toilet seat is broke, and they taped it together with the sticky wrapping from a pack of wipes.... bathroom door hits the toilet..... and the first room had no smoke detector at all and the one I'm in now is there, but the 9 volt battery in it is dead as a door knob. Oh, and after the $230 a week, you also have to buy your own toilet paper.... or they have it for $1 per roll. Also, they charge a late fee, and are on top of you, making sure no one sleeps over, even for a night, lol. Every time someone left after visiting, they would knock on the door asking if they were staying and that you have to pay $20 for an over night guest. The door and window doesn't lock, or even close right. And to top it all off, I've been sharing my room with a new roomie. A freaking mouse, who is eating my food, shitting all over, and not paying any rent! STAY HERE IF AND ONLY YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE.
