Also purchased was a jar of Mazavaloo and this is very yummy with just about everything, what it says on the jar is what you get and is totally delish mixed in with your rice, or even couscous, gives it that little extr zing. I will defintely be trying more of Chris and Rosie's products in the future and hopefully, one day, I will actually get up to the shop for a good old look around. Smashing people, fab products! Dried fruit and nuts are available at the counter, at very competitive prices- and you can get the exact amount you need- no more full bags of sesame seeds lying around in the cupboard after using two tablespoons! They also sell protein shakes and muscle building products (presumably for all the athletes at the university), 'healthy' chocolate and sweets, loose bags of herbs and spices, dried beans and many other things! Finally, they also have a section for organic and chemical-free make up, beauty and cleaning products, along with alternative medicines. The only downside is the cost- the products don't cost more than other shops, they're just all expensive to start with- but that's the cost of living healthily.

I wanted to surprise him with a housewarming gift, but being in San Francisco at the moment my options were limited, so I decided on having some goodies delivered. This meant getting the delivery on Saturday, since that would be the only day I could guarantee his presence during delivery hours without tipping him off. After some googling I decided on the Wholefood Co-op, however I misread their site, where it clearly states deliveries are on Sunday. After finishing the online order, I expected someplace to select a delivery date (as some grocery stores do here) but there was none. There was a comment field though, so I wrote a note asking for Saturday delivery, and explaining I was not the resident. I also shot an email to the contact listed on the site. Within a few hours I received a reply from Paul, stating deliveries were on Sunday, I apologized for the mistake and said I'd cancel the order and Paul replied asking for my phone number. I told him it was a US number but sent it anyway and a few minutes later received a call (10PM UK time!), I explained why I needed Saturday, and he said the address wasn't to far and he'd be out on shop business anyway so not to worry about it. Like that isn't enough, turns out when he got there Saturday my boyfriend was not home yet, and there was no good place to leave the groceries and no way to contact either of us. So Paul took the groceries back to the store and repeated the delivery attempt on Sunday, this time successfully! So, for being quick to communicate, extremely patient, and getting the job done, five stars :)

Service is friendly and the staff are very knowledgeable about their meats. It's not organic but the meat is all sourced from local Norfolk farms and I'm assured that animal welfare standards are high (they even offered to give me a tour of the farm so I could see for myself!). They do a fantastic range of self-made sausages - all are delicious and the prices are all very reasonable. They also stock a range of game in season and, unusually, sell sheepskin rugs which they display in all their colourful glory in the shop window when the store is closed and the meat displays taken away.

The shop is only small but is like an Aladdin's cave with so many different items stock. The staff are wonderful and know exactly what they are talking about and if they don't they look it up for you; they will not just pretend to know and risk giving you bad information. They will also give you there honest opinion if they think and item is not going to help you, they won't just sell you something just for the sale. If I am ever unsure about anything I am considering to take as a supplement to my diet I will always visit this shop first for an honest and straight forward answer. The prices are very competitive.
