Chill with good company and a good meal

The server Rosie was great! The place was cozy and comfortable. She was very helpful on with questions and recommendations. I checked yelp and didn't see steak and eggs and she was correct, it was delicious. I should have taken the pic before I started eating lol

    Speciality coffee menu.

Breakfast at Country Kitchen was in full swing when we arrived -- the kind of morning bustle where coffee cups clink, servers move at a near-balletic pace, and the scent of bacon does most of the marketing. Sad to see its doors have closed permanently. THE FOOD. - Bacon Avocado Ranch Omelette. A generous fold of eggs packed with applewood-smoked bacon and Swiss, brightened by fresh slices of avocado and capped with a drizzle of house-made ranch. Indulgent, yes -- but with just enough freshness to keep it honest. - Farm Skillet. A hearty plate designed to silence even the loudest of appetites: two eggs any style perched over a bed of seasoned hash browns, mingling with chopped sausage, onion, and green peppers. Rustic, filling, and satisfying. THE DRINK. - Coffee. Bold and much needed after a night of drinking. THE PARKING. The restaurant offered a generous surface lot that stretched out behind the building. Free, easy, and refreshingly unremarkable.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! By far, the absolute BEST food at Big Bear Lake! Ask for Ernesto when you go. He went out of his way to make everything wonderful for us! Also worth mentioning, it's the cleanest restaurant around. (Seriously, everywhere else was just sticky and gross. Not here! This restaurant actually understands the assignment). The hash browns were amazing! Fresh cooked. The eggs were perfect. True "farm fresh". The chicken fried steak was perfectly cooked. The bacon omelette was out of this world delicious! The pancakes nice and fluffy. Oh, and super yummy biscuits and gravy! Very reasonably priced. Great atmosphere. And again, the BEST service in town! Can't wait to come back! "Thank you, Ernesto for your warm hospitality!"

Country vibes, affordable price points, "A" Food Rating, clean environment, many options on the menu with calories shown for each item. Super delish and the server is a total sweetheart stop in for a bite, you won't regret it

My fiance and I were looking for a brunch place before we leave Big Bear after a long yet fun weekend. We found this place online and look like a good old fashioned diner, it wasn't exactly what we expected, but it did have all of the traditional basic foods that you would find at a Denny's or franchise diner. I would say their quality is a tad bit better than denny's, but not that hole in the wall authentic tasty cozy hearty breakfast we were expecting. Overall I did enjoy their food, I definitely would recommend this place for brunch. They don't advertise it well online, but it is Cash only! They do have an ATM located inside.

We brought our 2 labs that don't really go out often. So when we saw the. Patio open we just went back there to get out of the way without realizing how rude that was to not check in at the front. Our server was so kind and understanding. Luckily there wasn't a wait so we didn't cut anyone but didn't make us feel bad. I don't think we were even her table but she helped us out no problem. Decent sized patio that had tons of dogs coming through.

My low rating is entirely based on the customer service experience within the first few minutes of arriving. I came in with my dog, fully aware that we would need to sit outside. Since most restaurants still have you check in first, I stood at the podium where there was a sign indicating a server would check in guests. After standing there briefly, an employee asked if we wanted to sit on the patio. I said yes, and he responded by telling us to "go up the ramp." Not even in a friendly manner. Me being me I just wanted to verify that I didn't have to check in as it wasn't just myself, my party we're not all with me ..wanting to make sure I was following the correct process, I politely asked if I didn't need to check in first. His response came across as annoyed, basically repeating that he had already told us to go up the ramp. The interaction felt unnecessarily dismissive and rude. There's a difference between being direct and making guests feel unwelcome. I'm usually not someone who leaves negative reviews over one interaction, but both my husband and brother-in-law also noticed the attitude, as they were close enough to hear and it immediately made us uncomfortable enough to leave. Before leaving, I did take a quick look at the patio area and noticed it was very shaded with leaves scattered around from the wind, which didn't make the outdoor dining setup feel especially inviting either. Overall, this was disappointing because I had chosen this spot to celebrate my 30th birthday and was really looking forward to enjoying a big, delicious pancake. Unfortunately, the experience started off on the wrong foot and we decided not to stay.

You're part of the fam as soon as you walk in through the giant shark mouth. It can be a little overwhelming for a first time visitor with its mix of regulars and first timers. There is a winding line that jumps across the main aisle when it gets long, and sometimes goes out the door on busy days. Just ask anyone and they'll help you figure it out. They all had that same experience their first time in this non-traditional order system. The bro behind the bar will invite you to order a drink while you wait in line to order your food, which you can also do at one of the kiosks after the line jump. When you get to the front, you order from one of three giant screens you scroll through to pick your food and drinks, pay with your card and wait for the staff to tell you your order has washed up on the beach. I've tried several of their bows but have settled on the Pele bowl, usually with a cucumber base and only one scoop of rice. They have beef, chicken and ahi in a wide variety of flavors, and again, if you're not sure, ask a staff member and they're happy to help you through the process. They have small waffles as a base option but I have not tried those. I'm sure they're good. There is a reason they're consistently ranked one of the top restaurants nationwide -- yes, poke on a mountain top -- unlike anywhere else you may have it.

When you enter, you order on a touchscreen and then they'll call your name and/or number for your drinks first then your food and you walk up to the counter, get your food and then sit wherever you want - like at In&Out! I highly recommend getting their smoothies since they are DELICIOUS! Think tropical blended drinks but without the alcohol. So refreshing and you can still do the curvy drive up/down the mountain! Their poke bowls aren't as amazing as I remember sadly. They are a little too over the top in terms of strong thick sauces and bold overpowering flavors. Their pulled pork bowl was still yummy though despite all of their rice in all of our 3 bowls being a little undercooked (I prefer the fluffy sticky rice) So 5 stars for ambiance, 5 stars for service, 5 stars for drinks and 3.5 stars for food imho. Too bad I can't give 4.5 stars.

We're a larger group and there are only a couple of tables that could accommodate. There were a few outside tables that would work but they were being used by folks waiting to dine. Perhaps Lumberjack didn't have then manpower or it was too cold to service. I don't recall seeing patio heaters. It was sunny out and in the mid 40s. We dined towards the end of the rush. By the time food was dropped off, several tables were empty. Food is good. Price is high for some items though it isn't a surprise, being expensive to trucking up goods. My husband ordered a single buttermilk pancake and I had the Little Joe (one egg with two bacon strips and Logger potatoes (yum!)) plus a sourdough pancake. I'm a fan of the sourdough. My husband... not so much. He said it was good but prefers buttermilk. One friend ordered the breakfast burrito; said it was massive but cumbersome to hold requiring fork and knife. Another ordered the Complete Family Breakfast which is definitely a deal. It was a lot of food especially with the pancakes almost as big as the plate. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals. The kids cleaned their plates. There are two single restrooms though it seemed like only one was available at the time. Parking lot holds maybe10 vehicles plus one handicap spot. Be careful exiting the lot if parked along Big Bear Blvd. There was an accident in front by where we parked. Not sure if there is parking on the side streets. We circled a bit waiting for cars to leave the parking lot.
