1 Star Motel; but good enough for a sleep. Worn, old. Close to eateries. Would stay again if needed. I was desperate for shut eye.

My family just spent five days at the Wilderness Inn. The price was right, the rooms were…read morecomfortable and all the staff we dealt with were super nice and helpful. I booked the rooms on booking.com, which somehow charged them to a card I'd used previously instead of the card I input. Booking.com also listed one room with two beds and showed a photo of a room with two queen beds but when we arrived, they were both rooms with only one bed. When we asked for another bed, the staff handled that for us right away. I don't think this was the hotel's fault, though, I think it was booking.com. This was the perfect place to stay as a base for adventures in the area. There's a great bookstore a few blocks away on Main St, a restaurant a couple blocks down the road that served elk and bison and delicious milkshakes, a Safeway if you just want to keep yogurt, fruit and gorp in your room, and a little local store right across the street. It's just 5 miles down the road to Joseph with its galleries and bronze foundries, and just a few more miles to fantastic hiking in Eagle Cap and beautiful Wallowa Lake. We're coming back and I'd be happy to stay there again.

Wilderness Inn is a fairly affordable option for staying in the Wallowa area…read more - Decent, clean rooms. No complaints. - Ice/vending machines weirdly located down a flight of stairs in the basement. - Good location in Enterprise. The more popular tourist town of Joseph is only a few miles down the road, so this place works well. - Weak breakfast layout. One day, it was so late to open we went elsewhere, and there aren't many options in Enterprise for breakfast. - The Mexican restaurant next door is pretty good.

The hotel is probably the best in this small town. The property was clean, both outside and inside…read more My room wasn't cleaned on my third night and the clerk didn't seem to take notice of my complaint. At check in I was assigned a room on the second floor. When given instructions on the best stairwell to access my room I learned there was no elevator. Due to health conditions I find climbing stairs to be extremely difficult. I asked if he could change m3 to a first floor room and he said that would not be possible though it appeared to me that I was an early check in he should have easily charged room assignment. Apparently he was not authorized to make any decisions as I heard him tell other guests that he would have to call the owner or manager. I'm a loyal Best Western traveler and though this hotel was just "okay" I find that their sub brands are not nearly as nice as their core brand. The free breakfast while adequate was the same each morning, sausage gravy, biscuits, sausage links and sausage patties and pre fried eggs. No fresh fruit but three cold cereals and selection of breads.

Wow, So we had just driven from the Bay Area California…read moreSTRAIGHT through to Enterprise (overall almost 20 HOURS!) and we were BEAT! We saw online about this place and really weren't expecting TOO much. Boy were we surprised! Upon arrival we were greeted with GORGEOUS views of Oregon! Absolutely breathtaking! The front desk clerk Andy was really nice and welcoming. Made checking in super simple. He explained all the amenities perfectly. And got us to our room in a hurry which we loved cause we were so tired. He explained that there was no elevator which we didn't mind cause we traveled light. When we got to the room it was exactly what we needed. Everything was clean and and in great working order. Only thing is the DirectTv left a lot of channels to be desired. In the morning the continental breakfast is from 6-10. I over slept so didnt get in till 7. When I opened the warmer they were out of eggs and biscuits. I was slightly bummed but knew it was my fault so I didn't mind too much. Well the day time lady (forget her name) came out in a hurry with a HUGE good morning and noticed and immediately asked if I'd like some and made me some FRESH! I ate alot and went back to sleep. Oops over slept again! It was 10 and check out is at 11! I called down to inquire about a late checkout and the super nice clerk gave me untill 12! What great service! PROS: Great service Good continental breakfast Great value CONS: No elevator TV channels lacking
