I booked online. I wondered why the hotel was nesly booked up...car show! Yet the room was clean, smelled great. I needed to do early check in as I had a celebration of life to officiate. My room was not yet done do the manager gave me a private place to change. That is great service. The bed was good. Not as firm as I like, but not a sway back mare like many small hotels. Four towels...hair dyer...shampoo and soaps. Small fridge. Flat screen tv....cute dresser befitting the name...with a Gideons Bible, Our Daily Bread magazine and some local site seeing brochures. The info book was the most extensive I have ever seen. Only drawbacks were ony one pillow each...pretty flat. And the internet, which I needed for a zoom mtg, was down. :( It is a nice little hotel though. Great people! read more

Sis and I stayed 2 nights for a little girls getaway! The room was plenty big, very clean and the most comfortable bed I've ever had away from home. The couple who owns/manages the hotel were very sweet and kind. We would certainly stay again. Close to Sweet Treats which is also a must try!! read more

The best motel in Eastern Oregon!! The staff was not only friendly and knowledgeable but went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. The room was clean, there was no smell like some motels, and upgrades on items in room. Plenty of towels and pillows. The air worked great and we were very comfortable. By far a 5 star stay!!! I recommend The Range Rider for dinner! Best BLT I've ever had. Staff was friendly and attentive. After dinner, drive to Joseph and get ice cream from Mad Mary's. The Dole Whip it is amazing!! And don't forget to run to Joseph and shop the stores, they are all amazing. read more

Great rooms and decor and quiet NICE PLACE Check out time is 10 am most motels 11am At 10.01 we had pounding on our door "housekeeping" the pounding continued until i opened the door and was told by a guy check out time is 10 you need to get out NOW First time to be kicked out of a motel for relaxing a little too long will not go back until staff is replaced or taught how to be courteous to guests. I was looking for a hotel for the weekend as my fav band was in town. I called and booked a room. The motel has a good size parking lot, clean and the staff inside was friendly and made my check in speedy. The room it self was super clean, a folder with local things to do, eat and see which is great if you're not from the area. One great thing I enjoyed was that they had Disney plus and few other subscription based tv services. It's right in the heart of enterprise and just a short drive from Joseph. Deff would recommend if you're in need of a stay. Solid rates too! read more

My husband and two dogs traveled over 4,000 miles in 9 different states. The Ponderosa was by far the best place we stayed. Super clean and very welcoming. We put the dogs in the room to unload our luggage, when we opened the door they each had a chair. (okay we're home). What a great place to stay. Highly recommend it. read more

Clean and had everything we needed for a quick one night stop. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Continental breakfast was basic but sufficient. read more

We stayed here two nights and the Ponderosa Motel exceeded our expectations. It is a newer property, two floors, no elevator, in a convenient location right off of Enterprise's downtown. The owners live on property and the benefit of that shows in the good maintenance of the rooms. This is not "the Ritz", but the rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are adequate, the beds are comfortable enough and the price is right. Free wifi in the rooms, even if it was a bit tempermental. Rooms also have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Given where it is located, it seems the best of the lot. If we were headed to Joseph or Enterprise we'd stay here again. Looks like the secret is out too because even for the mid week late September time when we stayed, typically an "off season" time period, the motel was pretty busy. read more

I was charged an additional $100 for towels??? No cleaning on a 2 night stay so we left towels on the floor. No breakfast and heater didn't work right. Not at all a good experience. Also someone tried to enter our room. Scary!!!! read more

My lady friend and I are in our seventies and retired and travel a lot and stay in a lot of hotels. But we have never had an experience like we did at this place. Apparently the owner of this hotel also pulls maid duty sometimes and was not happy that our towels were dirty. They probably were. Sheets and towels and rooms get dirty. And now you want one hundred dollars to replace your dirty towels? This looks like a money grab to me. I have never in my life seen such an odd situation and also very bizarre and strange business practices. Don't stay at this place! read more

I have been staying at the Ponderosa every year for at least six years. This year they really surprised me. They have all new windows, the bathrooms have been updated as well as the carpets. Additionally, the tv offers every cable/streaming channel with a clarity I'd like to have at home. The lighting was excellent and all the lights worked. Also, a multi-charging socket has been added. It all adds up to a great experience. Also, I recommend breakfast at the Red Rooster. Dinner and lunch at Terminal Gravity. read more

I have stayed here many times. The staff are always nice and friendly. The rooms are well decorated like a cabin and very clean

Ponderosa Motel gets 5 stars from our family for excellent customer service. On the surface the motel is what it is, a bed, bathroom, tv, etc. Nothing fancy but everything you need. Unfortunately the AC in our room wasn't working well during the recent heatwave, but as soon as we let management know they were on it. They ended up giving us their last room with a working AC. They were also on top of helping us get extra pillows, etc. On top of all of that they were friendly to us and our rambunctious toddler and pup. Loved that they were pet friendly! We will be staying again next time we're in the area. read more

A very quiet hotel. Comfortable bed, easy parking and close to everything in town. Room was clean, their online reservations system worked well. read more

Small town and limited places to stay, this is the one to choose. The management is great and refunded my money when I had to check out early. Great customer service. It's a little dated but seems to suit the ambiance of Enterprise. It's walking distance from Main St. and most of the conveniences. Here's a tip: Book directly from their website. Some of the other sites can double book rooms or screw up reservations. I got a better rate doing this too. read more

This place is clean, awesome front desk lady, nice showers, tv, the list goes on. Exceeded my expectations for a motel

Last minute decision to come to Wallowa country. Found an open room here in Enterprise. Rates reasonable, clean room, pet friendly. Would consider again if we didn't have a place in Joseph. read more

I will NEVER stay there again.... Horrific Customer Service and management team. After finding vomit in my ice bucket and dirty wash cloths in the shower, we were told the cleaning crew were shifty by the management.... REALLY, thank God we were not robbed for more than a good night sleep. The manager apoligized profusely, tell me she would comp our stay and have our room personally cleaned. We chose to stay our second night.... Only to be told on check out, she should not have told me could comp the room. My sister asked me to see if they found her leather coat in her room....AMAZING.... NO COAT.... I THINK THEY ALL SHIFTY! I have reported to the health inspector, visitors association and to every travel site I can find... read more

Clean, decent shower, cute them, but dated. The mattresses are in desperate need of replacement!! But the staff is friendly, easy walking distance to everything, and a very nice breakfast assortment, including several protein sources. read more

dog hair in bed toiletries were have used ice bucket was dirty. pop machine was empty ice machine was broken. I will not stay here again.

its ok, office is dirty, smelled of urine or just dog and cat smells. Office looks closed due to all the storage stuff piled into the window areas.. Rooms was very clean but beds were worn out. Decent value, just simple. Breakfast? don't waste your time. It's a simple place to sleep but nothing more. read more

Clean & fresh. Pleasant surprise they had 32 inch flat panel TV w/cable. Mini fridge w/microwave. Bathroom had option of light w/fan as well as heat light w/no fan. Only complaint was no hair blow-dryer in room. Didn't realize until after shower. Had to run over to main office w/wet hair. read more

Fantastic small town motel! Rooms were clean, air conditioning worked great, staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and awesome. Family room has 3 beds with a separate bedroom and another tv in the bedroom. Free wifi. And the free breakfast spread is fantastic (bagels, English muffins, yogurt, juice, granola bars, fruit, hard boiled eggs, string cheese). We'll definitely stay here again next time we're passing through! read more

while driving to Joseph for a family reunion I ended up getting really sick. not knowing if it's Covid, I called to cancel my second night of stay. figured they of course weren't going to give me a refund for today. the manager Theresa was rude and actually condescending. I would not want to stay at the ponderosa in the future due to this treatment! No compassion! besides it is an old motel. Stay at eagles view! Nice hotel and very friendly! read more

Outstanding motel with a staff that truly appreciates their customers. Built in log cabin style and set in some of most scenic lands anywhere on earth, this place is a true gem. Beds are comfortable and there are ketogenic breakfast options. Very quiet and peaceful stay and I would recommend it highly. read more

Lady was incredibly nice and accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Can't beat for the price!

I will give it 4 stars for what it is - A clean comfy old motel in a small town. Lots of room and rustic log furniture. Front desk staff was not very warm and friendly, but she had some good local knowledge. read more

Stayed at this place on business without knowing hotels in area. Price might be a little higher for what you get, but the service was great, great recommendations for restaurants since I'm not familiar with the town, room was clean and comfortable and the wood furniture added a nice touch. Will stay again when in this area. read more

rustic look.very good for an independent motel.clean and stocked. id say better than motel 6 beds are good rooms are ok breakfast items in the front office which is a plus. good place to stay for enterprise or joseph rates were on par with others. espresso stand about a block west on greenwood street which is a plus read more

Nice lodging in the area for the price. Good and clean interior. If you need Wifi be sure to ask for it. Spent many nights there rather than in Joseph. read more

Great independent motel for the area; very clean, comfortable and a good value. The owners are friendly and helpful. Our dog enjoyed her stay as well, with plenty of grass nearby. The only downside was traffic noise, but the motel is in the middle of downtown and was full the night we stayed. We'll definitely return! read more

The Ponderosa is a very well run little motel - most everything works very well. The owners and the staff here are SUPER! Only reason I'm not giving this motel more stars is due to the paper thin walls. You will hear your neighbors if they are drinking or partying in any way. read more

Clean and good location. However we stayed Saturday and Sunday nights. I asked about AAA discounts and was told that because of an event in a nearby town there would be no discounts this weekend. Sunday night the motel was nearly deserted and there was no reason that the AAA discount could not have been applied. For this reason on our next trip to this area we will choose another motel. read more

We stayed here for 3 night while visiting Enterprise. It seemed clean from what we saw. A little outdated- the hair dryer I had to go get from the office didn't work because it was probably from the 70's, so I had to go get another one which was just as old. The last night was the worst because we had terrible neighbors who I could hear arguing thru the paper thin walls at midnight as their child was crying. No real complaints but nothing spectacular either. The Wifi was also terrible but I guess I shouldn't complain since it's free... read more

Ironically I've stayed here about 4 times. Usually a spontaneous day trip to the Wallawas entails an overnight. I haven't been in the last two years, and in the past it was clean, took the dogs, nice staff and affordable. I didn't mind the rustic design, lack of view, etc, but it was quiet and safe - I'd walked my dogs at all hours. Having been down mostly winter and spring time, I'd not been there during a busy time, so I can't address that. This time I went on the 18th of January. Oh dear. The sheets smelled like they'd not been washed in clean water, or hadn't been changed in months. They felt clean, the bed was clean, but the smell was awful. Staff was ok. The wife was that closed-mouth type who seemed out of place welcoming hotel guests. I really think I'll not go back after the smell of the sheets. I mean, I've got dogs, I'm a camper, I can do rough, but for one of the basic tenets of a hotel to miss so badly at, I think I can not recommend this at all. Yuck. Seriously. read more

We stayed two nights at the Ponderosa Motel in Enterprise. The first morning we were woken up by our smoke alarm going off due to a low battery, the second morning we were woken up by all the noise from cars from guests walking up and down the hallway starting at 6 a.m. those walls are so thin you can hear everything the surrounding rooms are doing around you TVs showers anything you can hear it. This was not a nice and comfy stay by any means the linens on the bed even smelt old to us. Cute little small town with beautiful views of the mountains but this was not the hotel for us to stay at ever again. read more

This is a great motel. I just want to pick it up and plop it in Joseph. But I can't. It's in enterprise, which is bit further removed from wilderness vacations, although depending what trail head you are going to, could be closer. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. They have renovated (or perhaps this is new, I'm not sure) what could have perhaps been a "motel 6" type lodging facility and have updated each room with a "lodge feel", it's all clean, nice beds, new showers, mini fridges and all of that. Probably the CLEANEST and newest place in the eagle caps wilderness area, not counting the bed and breakfast places that I haven't been to. Because, THEY TAKE DOGS in some units! no outside "venue", but great place to pull in and sleep. Or day hike and come back and sleep..... it's a motel, it;s completely refurbished, super clean....and they have a BIG GREY Guard CAT in the office. S/he's cool. Staff is super nice. read more
