Love this place my children went there and my grandchildren now attend ...summer camp was amazing children had so many activities ...

As a new mom, I was pretty terrified at the thought of leaving my infant in daycare as I wanted to be a SAHM. I think I cried every day after I dropped him off the first week. The staff could not have been more kind and understanding! I quickly came to realize that these teachers welcome my son with loving arms, and they are my PARTNERS in his care. His teachers in Infant classes A through C have been an invaluable support system. They celebrate my son's milestones, encourage him when he is feeling sensitive, and always show never-ending patience and kindness to all of the kids in his classes. You could not ask for better caregivers than Ms. Maricela, Ms. Marlenis, Ms. Lauren, Ms. Yarisma, Ms. Anju, Ms. Ninoska, Ms. Noralyde, and Ms. Larissa. Ms. Janet or Ms. Cindy always greet us in the morning by the door and they know all of the kids' names. Country Home will let you drop off and pick up as you need. Maybe they do not have cameras everywhere, and the facilities are older in this neighborhood (where I grew up btw)--but for the price and quality of love and care my son receives, I would never take him anywhere else. Any unpleasantness I have ever experienced there is from the other parents berating the teachers over trivial things (example: a missing bottle cap that it turns out I had accidentally taken home!) I know we have more solid foods, nap schedules, first steps, potty training, etc ahead of us and I feel confident that the Country Home staff will help us get through all of it. My son will be Kindergarten ready in a few years as they are also TSR certified! read more

My foster child absolutely loved going here. They were very accommodating to visits and unique situations. He also learned a ton and his language improved dramatically. He ran into the building every day so it's obvious is was a loving and fun experience for him! read more

We LOVE Country Home! The director and the teachers have all been amazing. My son has been there for over 2 years now. He loves the waterpark in the summer! I tell people about it all the time that are looking for daycare. We toured many other places and enrolled in 3 others before coming here in 2019 and I've been very happy with it. read more

My 11 month old has only started 2 weeks ago and he's already doing so great. He is still adjusting of course like any other baby who has never been in childcare but I couldn't speak higher of the teachers and staff there. The teachers are all so sweet, everybody says hi and answers any questions I may have and made me feel very comfortable leaving my baby in their hands. He was behind of solids and started eating a bit of food there starting day 1 and now he's trying to eat solids at home. The front desk staff were very welcoming and the enrollment process was super smooth because of them. The school has really great events and days where they have the kids all wearing certain outfits and it's adorable! They have holiday party's and change my sons clothes midday if his clothes get messy. My son is always in clean diapers, clean clothes, and is always playing with one of the teachers or kids when I come pick him up. He has only been there for 2 weeks and they already sent some artwork home with him. We feel very welcomed and I couldn't be happier with the daycare I have chosen. I already wrote a review, but it looks like it didn't save. While we really love our small, church, Montessori Mother's Day out programs, sometimes you just really need a good daycare. Country Home certainly done with all big daycare should do - after school care, full day daycare, part-time care for infants and extracurricular activities abound. The staff in my daughters room seems highly qualified. One of her teachers even has a bachelors degree in childhood education (or something like that). I recognize a lot of the staff from when my older daughter attended the daycare more than five years ago. Low turnover/high retention is always a good sign when considering a daycare. Everyone is friendly, of course. Since daycares and childcare providers are such a personal decision, I recommend you check it out for yourself, but feel free to use my two cents. read more

We LOVE CHLC. Our daughter started there at 8 weeks old when I had to go back to work and the ladies in the infant room were awesome, especially Miss Amanda and Miss Crystal. I trusted them and felt like my daughter was always safe with them. They were excellent at communicating with us, respecting our wishes as parents, and our daughter really loved them. She was genuinely happy to see her teachers every morning. They also did activities in the infant room! We have several finger paintings of different kinds and love them. It's nice to know your child isn't just being put in some kind of "baby holder" all day long. The babies play and are played with. We moved out of state not long ago and have had to enroll her in a different daycare and it has only made me miss CHLC. Daycare is half the price here as it was at CHLC but I'd gladly pay the rates for the care our daughter received. If we moved back I would enroll her there in a heartbeat. read more

With us recently getting out of the military and moving back to Texas, I was heart broken to leave my last daycare as they really did take my son in as their own. However, Country Home definitely mended my heart up and then some! They've truly enabled him to learn and blossom. And there's not a single teacher or staff member that doesn't make sure he is taken care of to the fullest extent. I adore every single member of their team. Even on days where I'm missing him a little extra, they're more than happy to check on him for me and let me know everything is good to go. The Director and Assistant Director are always supportive with everything and never let you walk past without a "hello or have a great day!" Enrolled our 4 year old son here when we first moved to Austin. He loves it. We now enrolled our 4 month old daughter as well. They take great care of our kids! It's a little craft heavy, and I wish there was a little more focus on reading and math to prepare better for kindergarten, but they do have some. Have been bringing my children here for nearly 2 years. You get all of the bells and whistles of a large facility (water park, field trips, playgrounds, theatre room) with the small class sizes and cozy caring feel of a smaller place. This is a large place but you don't feel that way. My kids start in a class in the fall and stay there all year - it's on the same schedule as RRISD. My children have adored every teacher they've had - so much so that since my daughter started kinder this year she hasn't stopped saying how much she misses Country Home. They're great about communication and have even called me for last minute field trip permission when I've forgotten to sign them up. Love Country Home! read more

My daughter has been going to Country Home for over 2 years (she is now 4). I like this place. Both the staff and the teachers really care about the kids and it shows. This facility includes 2 outdoor playgrounds, an indoor gym, and indoor playground, a wading pool (for 3+), and a computer room. The kiddos also do plenty of arts and crafts, some of which are incredibly clever. Once your child is 4 they start going on field trips. For Earth day week my daughter's class went to a park to pick up trash and plant flowers. They had a picnic after. There are a couple of cons - turnover can occasionally be high (mainly in the afternoon teachers, but it depends on the class). Country Home does only offer 3 different schedules (M-F, MWF, or TH) which will not work for everyone's needs. I would recommend this place to a friend. The office staff has always been very helpful and I appreciate the time and care they put into planning events and weekly themes. read more

I tried daycare for my son here. I really thought the staff was personable. My son seemed to like his teachers. He would smile when I brought him in and I knew he had a few favorites by his reactions. The staff was quick to correct any errors and they worked hard to ensure that my son had the best care. I really like all the amenities that this place has to offer. They have so many options and I was thoroughly impressed. read more

i have had nothing but great experiences with staff at CHLC on 183! I have been there a year with my 4 year old and my now 1 year old has been there since he was 6 weeks old. As a full time nurse , i am at ease when my children are in the care of the great staff. They care for my child as their own. My 4 year old was having speech and potty training issues and they provided the upmost attention. I would like to name everyone! I have no idea how this facility has so many stars... I went in for a quick look to see about starting my kids here. OMG I'm not even sure it's legal to have the amount of kids this daycare has.. There was an older lady in the 4's class who was yelling at kids during snack time.. Making 3 kids very upset and crying... She just looked mean and awnry. I've looked at many many daycares and this one by far had my mommy senses going nuts. Not to mention the amount of crap everywhere... Just looked like complete chaos. read more

Our daughter went to another school for the first 1 and 3/4 years of her life. But after extremely high turnover rates and inconsistencies, we went on a hunt for another daycare for her. We visited 4 different daycares and thought we had made our decision, when my husband said "what about that place on 183 with the white picket fence?" I told him that the building looked a little older than the one we has decided on and the reviews were iffy and he urged me to just go look.. I am SO glad we did. It's true, never judge a book by it's cover. Because that "older" building is really just more home-y. And it has soooo much more than other daycares and cost less than the big fancy accredited school... AND after being there for about 7 months I can honestly say that her care has been absolute top notch! Her teachers have all been there for a considerable amount of time. They play music and there is art all over the walls and as she gets older, there is more and more for her to do. Seriously, it's like everywhere you turn, there is more! Here are some highlights (all stuff the other daycare never did/had) -no fewer than 3 school parades that she participates in (even this young), plus a christmas program tonight where she'll sing some carols... In the 7 months that we've been there. - art decorates the wall everywhere and it's themed for the the rest of the year and changes constantly. - they have a garden that they grow vegetables in and all of the classrooms take turns tending to it - they have a library/resource room that our child just LOVES - they have a soft play room, plus a huge indoor mcdonalds-style playroom (with the tunnels in the sky, etc) so even on rainy days, they aren't stuck in the classroom all day. - they have three outdoor play grounds - they have a 50s style soda pop where they cook and do various projects with the kids. The two year olds made Rice Krispie treats yesterday. - they have a huge indoor gym with a side reading center for those kids that prefer that - they have a computer center - they have dance classes/ballet bars - they have outdoor putt putt-style mini gold - they have a splash pad/water park I mean, the list goes on and on. We chose this place originally because the options were endless as our child got older and they could keep her entertained and involved. We are staying because they are reliable and they care. They stay on schedule (which is posted in each classroom). they sing and play and dance. tons of artwork comes home for us to see. She learns all sorts of things and comes home and points to our dining table centerpiece and says "dats a decoration, mama!" Guess what they learned about that day? All about table decorations and it says so on the info sheet sent home! And she wakes up every morning and says "I go play with my friends?" And she's excited!!! I know it can't all be sunshine and rainbows, but we are super happy right now and I know that they will keep on trying to keep this place truly home-y and comfortable for everyone. This place may not be as "shiny and new" as some of the other places, but it is so far beyond those places in care and reliability. Trust me and see my other reviews to see what kinds of other problems you can have in those places. Great place to send your kids! My kids have been going to Country Home for 3 years and I could not be happier with the staff, curriculum and the owner. My kids love their fun activities and are interested in learning with their teacher! My daughter loves her teacher (Ms. Marsha) she is an amazing teacher at country home and my daughter has a great time learning in her class! My daughter started 1st grade math at 4 years old in the excel program. I love the various education and fun hands on activities. I am so pleased with how clean the staff and facility are. I appreciate how the check in and drop off process is, it gives me a sense of security for my children and I know that my kids are safe there. The teachers are wonderful and sweet. The owner Janet is always making sure the parents and children are happy and smiling. Mrs, Betsy at the front desk is awesome, she will answer any question I have and is very helpful. I was about to put "Amazing Childcare", but it is way more than childcare. The teachers that my children have had here are caring and very involved in every aspect of my children's development. I have three children here and it is difficult to leave your children someone. I had a hard time when I went to work and would miss them so much. But it helps beyond to pick them up and they are cared for, learning something new every day which accumulates into a broader topic every week, there are a lot of activities, and teaching a wide variety of subjects including citizenship. I was off early one day and went and picked up my children and went into my twins class (my twins are a handful- 2 mischevious boys) and the teachers had the whole group of children sitting on the rug, hands in their laps, listening while they read about every person being different. I was beyond belief. The teachers work with me on tips for home and we try to use the same strategy at home as at the learning center. I struggled at first in the summer as I was use to being at home with them, but there are so many activities and a small water park/splash pad, along with a Putt Putt and a soda shop. My 8 year old asks to help cook after he has started baking and cooking at the soda shop. It is a great place. I cannot recommend it enough. read more

My daughter has been at Country Home for 2 years now. I love the staff and the facility. They have a very good curriculum and have a lot of diverse activities to keep the children busy. It's nice to ask my daughter what she learned in school today and her response is I know about the #'s 6, 4 and went over words that start with the letters j and m. It also makes me feel good that she really loves "school" (that is what she calls Country Home) and gets upset when she doesn't get to go because it is the weekend. read more

This facility run by this professional staff is the best overall daycare/school my toddler son has ever been to in Austin, Texas. His teachers were so good, took out such great time with him, especially Miss Minnie and Bianca, who really were instrumental in his potty training during the day, why he mastered it so quickly. The school has such a great director, Miss Janet, who was so wonderful up front and always greeted everyone pleasantly every morning and every evening. Miss Mary the accountant was also very good at her job. There was even a free cup of complimentary coffee with various creamers each morning, and on Friday mornings, free small blueberry muffins. The school always had a lot of great activities for the kids, such as "eat Thanksgiving dinner with the kids" day and ice cream socials, as well as an actual gym and inside playground in case it rained, with lego-like structures the kids could build and take apart. Our son was very happy here and engaged in learning and fun, we could tell. I really did not like moving him out of this school when we moved to Pflugerville because when he went to the Goddard School there, it just wasn't the same. Again, I think due to the director of Country Home LC and its competent staff for the most part, he did much better here and I will never forget the experience. read more

My daughter attended CHLC for a little over a year (1 year old-almost 2.5 years old). If it wasn't for us having to move, I would still gladly have her enrolled. I saw so much progress in my daughter's development during her enrollment - she speaks in complete sentence's, she uses her manners, and she is able to identify things way beyond her age development. I would like to think that a lot of this stems from home as well. But, having her in a positive environment definitely gave her the head start she needed. The teachers here definitely care about your child as an individual (we will miss our "Miss Grace") When it was time for my daughter to start potty-training at home, the teachers were excited to help her while she was at daycare. The outside area offers several activities for expanding minds while the indoor playground provides them with a fun, safe environment on a rainy day. I loved that my daughter was so excited to go to 'school' every day (minus a few cases of the terrible 2s.) I can't say how much we appreciated everything and everyone. This facility made it easier on me knowing that when I had to work, that my little one was being taken care of. When we told them we had to leave, they even worked with us and recommended other established daycare facilities that they knew would be a great fit for our family. We couldn't be happier with Country Home Learning Center. Our daughter Evelyn has gone here since we moved to Austin from Las Vegas in 2015, she was nine months old at the time. Now she's 2 & a 1/2, all of her previous teachers still remember her and take the time to give hugs, praise, and high fives whenever they see her on campus! The staff is really great about listening to any concerns parents have and act on them immediately - no lip service here! Also, the quality of the education that she's getting continues to surpass our expectations. Before her 2nd birthday, she was able to count to 10 in English and Spanish, and learned her ABC's. Now she counts to 20 and is starting to build an early math foundation with learning essentials such as pattern recognition and grouping same objects. We absolutely LOVE this school and wouldn't send her anywhere else! In fact, my husband and I both travel aprox 26 miles each way to get to work every day and we would rather commute, than move to the other side of town, just because her school is that AWESOME!!! read more

We sent our eldest two boys here for 8 years, so when my family once again needed childcare for our daughter, we naturally turned to Country Home. While it had been 3 years since my kids had attended the school many of the teachers were the same. The administrative staff is phenomenal. My daughter has been attending now for 6 months and loves her teachers! No one wants to leave their children to go to work; however, if you are looking for a warm environment with friendly staff and activities that your children look forward to everyday, then look no further! I love Country Home. The teachers are amazing, but every time I come in to pick my child up Ms. Betsy and her office assistant are always on their phone and it seems that they would rather engage in social media and than assist me with my needs. If there was a daycare for phone use Betsy and Deshay would be the primary directors of that daycare.I'm sorry but I believe that the children are more important than their personal matters. This has been a serious issue for me during the past few years I have been coming to Country Home. It's extremely unprofessional and I don't appropriate the staff putting their phone use before my needs and my child's needs. Fantastic school and excellent curriculum but come on? Our daughter attended this daycare for about 8 months as a 1-2 year old. And here's what we thought: Pros: ~No accidents, mishaps in the entire time she was there ~Good curriculum with plenty of fun and educational activities ~Morning teachers seem very knowledgeable and caring ~Lots of cool areas like the outside water park and the theater room ~Healthy, diverse, complete lunches (ok so they're not all organic etc but overall I was happy with the selection) ~Clean facility ~Only spoke with director once but she was very pleasant and reassuring ~They're open till 6:30, which is later than any other daycare in the area ~Convenient location Cons: ~Regarding the aforementioned conversation w/the director, I called concerned when they moved my daughter into the next room 2 months early and not all the activities were well-suited for her age at the time. I'm sure it came down to them trying to maximize space, but we would've preferred if she had stayed in the appropriate room. ~Some of the afternoon teachers are great, but others leave much to be desired. It seems like the qualifications/experience for the afternoon teachers is lower than for the morning ones. ~My daughter cried every single day when we dropped her off.. for the entire 8 months (unlike at the smaller facility we use now) ~They're closed major holidays which really put us in a pickle AND you still pay for those days. ~I don't agree with the nap time (11:30-1:30) as it seems from talking to other parents that most kids my daughter's age prefer to take a later nap 2-4ish. Our daughter was sooo grumpy and over-tired every single day she was in Country Home because of the early nap. Overall if you have to or want to use a big daycare I would recommend this one. We only withdrew our daughter because a job change allowed us to use hourly drop-off daycare instead. read more

My son only attended for two sessions of their summer camp. He loved it and there were plenty of activities to keep him occupied. Security seems good, though no one really explained to me how to use the keypad to enter the facility. I agree, the afternoon staff really seemed like they would rather be anywhere else. There were a few times my son had scratches, marks on him and I realize kids get hurt, but I was never offered a report or explanation, just a shrug and the typical answer of most day care centers "I don't know". Level of care for the amount that was paid seemed low. Overall, it seems fine but I wouldn't want him to go there long term. read more
