I had a terrible experience with this stylist. During my appointment, they applied chemicals that were far too strong and left them on too long, which resulted in a painful burn on my scalp. When I called Kim ( the manager or owner) Not only was it extremely uncomfortable, but the owner showed little concern when I mentioned the burning sensation. Kim said she had to talk to the stylist and will have to call me back.Kim never called me back! I would not recommend this salon to anyone looking for safe and professional hair care. read more

The owner, (Kim), of the salon that screwed up my hair (color and cut) on 9/30, finally called me back today after my second message for her. She told me that because I got my [hideous] hair fixed elsewhere, (after I had complained multiple times about my hair prior to getting it fixed--including while I was in the salon), she wasn't willing to do anything about it or give me any sort of refund. When I attempted to explain the situation and what steps I had taken to allow them the opportunity to fix my hair prior to requesting a refund, she thought it would be appropriate to cut me off and literally started yelling at me about how I "never gave them a chance to fix it" and how they have "amazing customer service," (because yelling at a client is a fabulous way to show them your "amazing customer service" skills). On the day I got my hair done I told multiple hairdressers at the salon that I didn't like it and it wasn't what I asked for, Kim already knew that I let my normal hairdresser know ASAP that I hated my hair and needed it fixed (but Kim didn't see fit to follow up with me to make sure it was actually taken care of, which it wasn't since the soonest I could get in was the 17th and to me that is an unreasonable amount of time to wait since I was so embarrassed by my hair looking like a cheap Halloween wig that I didn't want anyone to see me until it was fixed), and I had called and left a message for Kim to call me back regarding the fact that I was unhappy with my hair prior to having my hair fixed elsewhere, but I didn't receive a call until I called again today... No matter how mad I have gotten at clients/customers, I have never treated any of them the way I was treated by Kim today so needless to say I will not be back and will never recommend her salon to anyone ever again. I truly hope that the hairdressers that work for her will find a salon that will treat their clients right, because if she treats others like she treated me, they will be the ones affected the most. read more

I scheduled a hair cut and style with Miranda at Country Clipper based on the recommendation of a friend. I had been searching for the "right fit" in a hair stylist and salon for about a year. First of all, it was very easy to schedule an appointment for a time that fit my schedule. Second, the price was great at just $28! Third, Miranda was awesome. She was friendly and asked me what I wanted to do with my hair while I am growing it out. She had great suggestions for me. I had a full hour with her, so I didn't feel like I was rushed through my appointment. She deserved the $9 tip I gave her. Fourth, the salon was clean and modern inside - in spite of a slightly hokey name and unimpressive appearance on the outside. I went here for a few years and the last two years I colored my hair and the color would never hold. I asked the stylist about changing brands of color and she insisted that it was my "stubborn greys" and not the color. I gave up coloring altogether because it was a waste of money - especially since it would literally wash out immediately. After talking to another stylist elsewhere I decided to let her color my hair and sure enough the color held fine. I don't know anything about hair color but clearly my stylist wasn't being honest with me or was just plain lazy. Either way it's really disappointing. Waste of both time and money. read more

Hear ye, hear ye...im shocked! Finally a no fuss salon who is very unassuming. I have tried just about every salon in Monroe and the freylands to get a haircut. Today, I was floored. Denise cut my hair exactly as the pictures I showed her...seriously the best cut I have had in 7 years! Besides that, a nice salon with very friendly stylists! I just want to say this place is not at all what I expected. Walking in, everyone was so nice and so helpful. As I waited for my appointment because I showed up a little early, I noticed all the hair stylists were engaged and really into their job, talking to their clients along with doing an excellent job cutting/coloring/styling their hair. I have had some bad experiences getting my hair done elsewhere, and was very nervous walking into a new place, so it put me at ease to see all the ladies really focused and engaged. I was wondering which one would be doing my hair, but realized it doesn't matter they all look so good and look like they LOVE their job. I ended up getting carol! She asked me what I would like done to my hair, I showed her a picture and she did such a great job! I walked out of that place knowing this is my new hair salon! She gave me EXACTLY what I had pictured! She was very helpful as I had lots of questions about my hair. I drove by this place often so today I stopped in for a hair cut. The business sits back off of Hwy 2 as you are heading east out of Monroe. The person who cut my hair was friendly and not overly talkative like some are. She was very professional and did a great Job. They were slow, not busy today so there was no waiting.
