Grilled cheese and fresh cooked french fries

This small hidden eatery has the best grilled cheese in Nashville. A must stop if you are in the area.

I am sure that the homemade fluffy large biscuits are the best in Tennessee and maybe the US! I also know that their from scratch gravy tastes just like mine and it's the best I have EVER eaten in a restaurant!! This gem is worth driving to for the biscuits and gravy alone!!

I was in the area and was looking for a diner and found this one in my search on yelp. Glad I stopped by. The place is a bit small but good spots usually are. I say myself and the server was asking me what I wanted to drink in a flash. I then ordered a cheeseburger and had a choice of side so I got the tots. Burger was really good with lettuce and tomato and the tots are always a plus. The food came out fast and they got free refills on drinks. Prices are very reasonable. Want to come back again and try some of the other items on the menu.

Great little greasy spoon. Reminds me of my little no-stoplight hometown dinner in Eastern TN. Food was good and service was helpful and friendly. Nothing fancy here but it was a pleasant experience all around and I left here completely full. The biscuits were amazing and my favorite part of the breakfast!

Came here before my flight from BNA. Quaint little dinner, big country vibes. Regulars shuffling through, and conversations in the background that are thoroughly entertaining. The sounds of the kitchen's pots and pans and the sizzle of the grill all make up the cozy atmosphere here. I wouldn't say go out of your way to make this a pit stop, but I haven't had a country fried steak with gravy in a long time and it sure hit the spot. This isn't some fine dining establishment like you see in NYC; what you see is exactly what you get and I loved it. Exactly what I needed and prices are reasonable here.

On one visit with only a few of us there our bartender disappeared for a good 20 minutes. Upon his return he was focused on everything but the 5 of us in the place until we finally had to ask to get service. The other visit everyone helped me but the actual server. Maybe this is a staffing problem, I don't know but being stuck for 20 minutes to order another drink with my meal is not acceptable. Although they had that check in my hand in under a minute and in under another minute to process. Again, super nicer people, but kind of oblivious. 2) Now let's talk about the kitchen. And I'm adding some input from the other diners because we all sat there waiting. - flavors are great, but the salt and spice level is overboard. I had the mushroom appetizer and nearly choked/coughed to death. I like heat but this was raw spice that overpowered the dish. And the salt about made my feet swell into balloons. Such a shame because the idea is great just poor execution - deviled eggs. Pass - BBQ Shrimp, sort of like the mushrooms right profile but overpowering - gumbo. Two other people had the gumbo and when I asked they said that too is just over spiced I want to like this place, but probably my last visit unless I just come for oysters. Sorry

Situated in the heart of Germantown, this modest yet distinguished establishment offers not only fare of exceptional quality, but also the singular pleasure of partaking in a communal table, where strangers are received as companions, an echo of a more gracious and convivial age. The fried chicken is, without exaggeration, among the most excellent in the city, and the portions are notably generous. Each accompanying dish is prepared with the utmost care and discernment, reflecting a commendable attention to detail. Having first dined here upon our arrival in Nashville, it has since secured a place of particular esteem among the establishments we hold in highest regard. It is, beyond question, an experience to which one ought to aspire at least once. I confess a certain satisfaction in knowing that such a venerable tradition continues to flourish in the South.

This place was a wonderful little experience. We were greeted with the sign outside, "Enter as Strangers and Leave as Friends," which is one of my life philosophies. We got there right at opening, so we got seated first along with one of their years-long regulars. A friendly local lady who provided us with pleasant conversation until the next patrons arrived, who were seated right next to us at the same table, family style. Then the next people, then the next. Sitting, talking, passing the food around the table. It was a nice experience. And the ambiance was nice, too. Plain, wooden chairs, white tile flooring, vintage holiday decor, it was like being in a grandma's house. Very comforting. The food came out one or two dishes at a time. Everything was good enough, but it also was apparent that it was mass produced in a catering style. The basics like the bacon and ham were very good, but the fried chicken, I wouldn't take a big piece, save your stomach room for other things. Whatever other things you grab, make sure you grab a biscuit and get ahold of their homemade peach preserves. That stuff was 10/10 excellent. It's so good, they jar it and sell it at the front desk. I totally recommend. Overall, breakfast is one of the most important meal of the day, so if you find yourself in Nashville, I would implore you to come and check out this city staple of over 30 years now.

The place felt lively and fun, and there's also a small outdoor patio that fills up quickly. We ended up sitting at the bar (which we had reserved). Btw, they have a small complimentary parking lot next door plus a paid lot across the street, which is convenient. I had heard so much hype about the food, but for me it didn't totally live up to it. The biscuits were overly salty and not something I wanted to finish. The cold shrimp with blood orange was an interesting combo that I surprisingly liked. I ordered the steak and while it was cooked perfectly, the portion felt small for the price. It also came with broccolini and a really good sauce. Although our bartender/server was super attentive and friendly, it did take a very long time for our entrées to come out. He even had to go check on them and ended up bringing the food back themselves. Unfortunately, mine was honestly a little lukewarm. Overall, it was just mid for me. I wouldn't rush back, but I'd go again if someone else really wanted to try it.

I selected the Kvarøy Arctic Salmon, while my wife chose the Springer Mountain Farms All-Natural Chicken. Both dishes exceeded expectations. The salmon was cooked perfectly--crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. It rested on a bed of greens with a subtle lemon flavor that paired beautifully with the fish. The chicken was equally impressive--moist, tender, and packed with flavor. What stood out most was the incredible smoky aroma that hit before each bite, making it even more irresistible. For dessert, the Blackberry Lemon Bread Pudding was the perfect finish. Soft, warm, and bursting with flavor, it was a standout ending to an already exceptional meal. The small signage made it a little difficult to find inside the Marriott (see pictures), but from the moment we walked in, heard the live piano player and saw the dining area - we knew this would be a great experience. We started off by sharing orders of Lobster Bisque (see picture) and Burrata with Toast (see pictures). We really enjoyed both of them - the Lobster Bisque was so creamy and smooth and the Burrata was cool, fresh and clean. They were a great combination to start our dinner experience and I would recommend both of them. Since it was a Friday during lent, my wife opted for the BBQ Shrimp Pasta (see picture) and I went with the Daily Fish Special on Blue Corn Grits (see picture). As we always do when we go out, we shared our plates and really enjoyed both of them. The BBQ Shrimp Pasta was rich, buttery and smooth and the Fish Special was a tasty white, flaky and blackened fish served on a bed of rich, creamy blue corn grits. Here again, both are highly recommended.
