This location is not in the shopping centre, but beside it, in one of those "strips" of shops…read more The staff here was quite helpful and not at all pushy. They let me browse my suits at my leisure and were attentive in helping me try on what I fancied. The store itself is large and the selection resembles this. They have a variety of suits, from the standard fare of blacks, navy, and greys to some quite flashy and shiny duds. There were two sections of neckties in the back and a variety of shirt selections throughout the store. It's worth noting, however, that the assistant did more than hold the jacket for me while I try it on. While I was browsing ties, he showed me ones of better value and higher quality. So a better product for less than what I was perusing. He did the same again with shirts. I ended up purchasing a nice three piece Italian suit, with a lovely cotton shirt and a black-striped silk tie. This cost me under 180 Euro! Granted, there was a special going on, however it appears that this is a common situation. They also gave me a travel bag and suit jacket hanger. The travel bag is quite impressive and, while not excessively durable, will keep liquids and dirt off your clothes. Best of all, it zips in a fold without causing too much wrinkle or despair to the garments inside. The suit I purchased isn't cheap rubbish. Now it, obviously, isn't of the same cut or quality as some of the 500-700 Euro custom jobs, but it is significantly better than many of the 300-350 Euro suits I've seen in a few of the boutiques and department stores. It seems to be wearing well, as I've set it into my regular rotation and it isn't fraying apart or any other nonsense. Not at all bad combination for the price!

They also do a smattering of furniture although that does tend to hinge on the pricey side of things. However if you need anything for your house this is usually a good place to start. Their cookware section is usually well stocked, and for some reason they sell a lot of photo frames. Upstairs there a smallish section of mens, womens and childrens clothing, which range in price although you can get a good deal on the kids stuff. Mostly they sell staples like t-shirts, tracksuits and jumpers, but they do have some fashion items as well particularly in the Savida section for women. The problem with Dunnes is that it can't decide what it wants to be. In the 80s it was all about being cheap, then in the celtic tiger it went all upmarket, and now it's being undercut by the German supermarkets. At the moment they're dropping prices and trying to compete which works on some items but not in overall shopping trolley comparison I find. Still though this Dunnes is nice and it's where I'd go for fresh bread, cakes and salads.

To say I have grown to hate buying clothes is an understatement. The sales staff I encounter are generally those over eager 12 year old boy type wannabe hipsters wearing gimpy little cardigans, achingly tight jeans, slip ons, and throwback t-shirts from bands they don't remember. This irritates me profoundly. Michael Barries is the antithesis to this. As I walked in I was greeted by a normal human being who asked what I was after, gave me a few suggestions, pointed me in the right direction and then simply left me be to browse. The selection ranges from casual pub wear to suits, jackets, and ties. Everything I saw was geared firmly towards understated, old school men's style. If you're after the metro look this probably isn't for you. After a few minutes my amateur shopper status must have been evident as he wandered over and made a few suggestions based on my measurements and what I was looking for. Much to my satisfaction they all fitted perfectly. Happy days. In addition to what I was buying I also had my eye on a jacket, which was admittedly a little more expensive than I would normally be comfortable with. I tried it on and as I was buying quite a bit, normal human being sales dude said he'd knock €200 off it. I gave him a lower cash price for the lot, he agreed and the deal was done. If like me you are a person who will shop for quite a bit once or twice a year, who likes classic men's style, and who doesn't want clothes which make an ironic statement or highlight your borrowed nostalgia for 80s synth pop, then this is the place for you. I can now happily say I like shopping, albeit infrequently.

AVOID - Terrible sizing, slow and expensive shipping, unhelpful staff right up to the owner…read more I was very excited to order from Vedoneire, and had high hopes for the brand. Unfortunately their sizing is either extremely inaccurate or extremely deceptive. I ordered a M 3081 jacket, chest 38-40' (as indicated on the Vedoneire website), and received a jacket that was more than 7 inches wider -- greater than a 45" chest (see photos). It fit like an XXL, making it completely unwearable. I asked for an exchange, and that the return shipping be covered (the jacket took about a month to arrive, and the shipping was costly) since the sizing was completely incorrect according to what was listed on their own website. I received an unhelpful and frankly patronizing response, and then an even ruder response from Vedoneire's owner (I admit I was frustrated and mirrored their tone in my followup to the customer service person, but I do not believe a straightforward explanation of the issues with sizing and my disappointment in the process warranted such a rude response from the owner). Until they change their sizing or their return policy I would strongly recommend avoiding this brand.
