The green catches your eye from the entrance of Defiance & how can't you not love this shade!! The options once inside for rentals are endless and inclusive for everyone and anyone - the newest addition is the electric bikes! We went with a manual set of bikes and rode the trail directly behind all the way to Augusta (7 miles ish each way) I love the convenience of the trail being directly behind the shop & the variety of parking options. Also close to multiple places to grab a bite to eat after! Have been going to this shop for the last 10 years when we are in need of a rental bike! The new owners were friendly & helpful with the quick and efficient onboarding process of getting on the trail! Don't hesitate to rent here - affordable for a fun family / friend day on the trail!

John was friendly, he explained the operation of the bikes perfectly, easy to understand. The bikes were in excellent condition. I've biked the Katy many times and this was one of my best rides. The trail near Defiance is a beautiful part of the trail, lots of scenic views of the river. Many wineries, breweries and eating places nearby is a plus. We came back a little late on our 2 hour rental but he didn't gouge us for more. Highly recommend renting bikes here if you are looking for a great Katy Trail experience.

We have ridden for two days now. Excellent, work Alec. We are absolutely satisfied with the work done, and look forward to an ongoing mutually beneficial relationship. This business is just the right size, professional enough, with the required equipment/technology/skill to handle modern bikes, but small enough to call you by name and care about what they are doing for you. I have been riding for years, and owned a few different bicycles. Each year the bikes have gotten a bit better, and the needs for a competent professional to help me take care of them has grown as well. Very comfortable with trusting this business with our needs. I had taken the bikes apart to ship them on our move from MD, and put them back together. They were okay, but just a bit wonky. Alec returned them to like new condition, everything is smooth. He even fixed my wife's chain rub problem that we have dealt with since we bought it, and three different shops back in Maryland.

I explained that a quick turnaround was required as it's my only means of transportation. They repaired the derailer & rear brakes, tweaked a couple of other items and put on a new seat cover. All for only $75.!! we won't be going back to the Cyclery. I have to say that the customer service was much better here too.

I came in with a long list of questions, and he patiently walked me through every detail: sealant choices, valve installation, tire bead seating, the works. He clearly knows the tech inside-out and explains it without a hint of condescension. He also steered me toward the Dynaplug Pro Racer, which proved its worth the very next ride. One of my tires had a puncture that sealant alone couldn't handle; two minutes with the Dynaplug and I was rolling again--permanently patched, no inner tube needed. Huge win. James didn't stop there. After hearing about the multiple punctures I'd been battling on gravel, he asked smart questions about my current tire setup, tread pattern, and typical terrain. He then recommended two bulletproof gravel tires. The whole SRB crew shares that same level of care. During a recent century, my chain started skipping with 27 miles to go (mostly uphill). Jacob spotted me at a rest area, diagnosed the problem in seconds, and had me shifting smoothly. That quick fix saved the ride. SRB Bike Shop earns every star: deep expertise, practical recommendations, and real-world support when you need it most. Highly recommend!
