Not happy with Erin P. and her billing practices. I understand wanting a 48 hours notice, but when you have 2 out of 3 kids sick it is not doable. I had to cancel 3 appts on a Saturday because 2 kids were sick. She is charging me $75 for each of the kids that were sick and the full appointment fee for the child who was not sick. There is no way I could have brought the 3rd child in and leave the other 2 home. It would have been reckless, negligent and illegal. I have 2, 6 year olds and an 8 year old. She told me if the appointments were earlier in the week and we could reschedule that she would not have charged me, but since it was late in the week and could not reschedule that I was being charged out of pocket. I cannot plan when my children are sick.

Dori's approach is very hands-on, which works very well for my child. She has helped him how to be more flexible, more patient, to manage his anger more appropriately, to recognize important social cues, etc. She works one-on-one and in small groups, and utilizes all sorts of games to get the kids thinking about their behavior. Dori has been a strong advocate for my child's success at school, and has worked closely with me and his teachers to make sure that what he learns with her is carried over to the school setting. She responds to her emails and phone messages at all hours, and has always gone the extra mile for our family.

My ex-boyfriend violently assaulted me on several occasions and verbally, mentally, and emotionally abused me for four years. I have a package near completion to give to the VPD, but am utterly traumatized by the abuse I suffered. And now I have suffered a relapse of Fibromyalgia from a lack of emotional support. My health is a mess because I have waited so long. They do not offer the services that they say they do! I am devastated. I feel as though I have been victimized again, by Family Services of the North Shore. Clearly, my wellbeing is unimportant to them. Meanwhile, my ex-boyfriend, a psychopath is likely scouting out new victims to abuse and con. He abused and assaulted almost all of his exes. He needs to be held accountable and I need to recover. Susan and I have been in the trenches together with my mental health over the past ten years…read more Through her medical wizardry, she has brought me back from the brink of suicide and insanity on multiple occasions. I'm a graduate of Northwestern University and was distraught over my outcomes with other psychiatrists. I felt like I didn't suffer through that school to be on disability. Susan is a breath of fresh air. While she isn't in-network with any insurance company, her prices are reasonable (she's worth every penny), and she will work with your insurance on things like getting your prescriptions covered, provide you with documentation if you have out-of-network coverage, and fill out any sort of job-related paperwork that may be needed. I think it's saying something that she keeps her patient population functioning so well that they can continue to see her, even in the rough times. Unlike so many other psychiatrists, to the best of my knowledge Susan doesn't have patients in long-term care facilities, nursing homes, or regularly in an inpatient setting. We're all contributing members of society and she keeps us that way. As psych patients, I believe that's the most we can ask for: to be indistinguishable from people without mental illness. Susan ensures just that. If there's one thing you should spend a little extra on, it's your health. Take my word for it. Make your mental health a priority with Susan Bank. You'll be happy you did!

If I could give zero stars I would but that is not an option. This guy is an absolute tool. I did…read morenot need to be assessed while at McLaren but they asked and said it was optional and I figured it would not hurt. I was wrong. This crook kept me for an additional day at the hospital because he said a Dr. had reported they heard me making statements indicating I was homicidal. I was not even suicidal much less homicidal. He was trying to railroad a mental health nurse to inpatient care because I guess maybe he was behind on his car payments. He asked me three times during the first interview what I did for a living. You think he would remember if someone told him they were a mental health RN but not this genius. I was in for pain and CMH did a mental health screen and cleared me. Then the NP later told me since Mark assessed me he could override the CMH recommendation. Of course they did not tell me this prior to seeing this liar. I will never step foot back in a McLaren as a patient. I will be going to Munson in Gaylord or Traverse city. I find it hard to believe this guy has so many good reviews, I question the veracity of these reviews. They cannot possibly be real. He provided substandard clinical performance with clearly questionable medical judgement and honesty to be frank. He was dismissive of my statements and he talked at me more than to me trying to build his BS case for homicidal ideation. He lacked professional conduct as his approach to medicine was highly questionable and unprofessional, he actually called me a liar when I denied homicidal ideation and told him he was a quack. He yelled it as the nurse was pulling the monitor away from my bed. His dismissive attitude and unprofessional conduct compromised the patient-physician relationship. It was all BAD, it is as simple as that. I honestly cannot say one good thing about him. I only saw him twice but he made and cancelled multiple appointments throughout the day and I saw him LATE. UNACCEPTABLE! Even my nurse said he was horrible. The NP that was caring for me overrode this MOMO's recommendation and I was discharged to home at the end of the second day on the trauma floor. I have patients on the behavioural health unit I work on tell me that ER nurses and doctors as well as psychiatrists and CMH screeners lie about what they say all the time, I was skeptical regarding this possibility but now I know this definitely happens. What is way more common though is the patients telling me that ER staff tell them they can either get out after 72 hours or they can leave whenever they want. Then once they get on the unit they find out the truth. This is exactly what happened to me. I was told I would leave the next day after a MRI was performed but this was not the case. This experience has made me change my specialty in nursing as I refuse to work for a behavioural health unit, I do not want to be any part of the broken mental health system in this country. You have been warned.

This was my first time coming to this center and getting a full body massage. From the moment I stepped into the center, I immediately felt calm, soothed and welcomed. The entire center has an element theme. There's a room named air, fire, earth, wind and water. There's dimly lit lighting, the scent of incense in the air, crystals all around, and soothing music playing. My massage therapist was Kristine. She was very friendly and put me at ease right away. I took a minute to fill out a new patient sheet and she discussed any medical conditions or anything that I wanted to focus on. She gave me a tour of the center and then we began my treatment. The raindrop treatment was awesome! She dropped (8), I think, essential oils down my spine, then covered them with a warm damp towel and let them soak in, meanwhile she began my massage. Kristine was excellent!!! She always made sure that I was comfortable and that nothing was too painful. The raindrop treatment helped to loosen up my muscles and also acts as a detox. It was very refreshing, even though I smelled like a "pizza" after wards. Haha...I think one of the oils was oregano. I had my massage yesterday and today I actually feel pretty darn good. I've been in constant pain the past 2 weeks due to fibromyalgia, and the massage and raindrop treatment truly helped me! I can't wait until my next treatment! Overall, this place is awesome. They offer more than just massage. They do traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, ear candling, and reiki. They even have an infared sauna and do all kinds of body wraps and such. There's also facials, waxing and eyelash extensions. Check out their website for a full list of all they do! Aimee, the owner, is sweet and soooo knowledgeable and helpful.
