Lauren was great in the office and the they offer a military/veteran discount for fairly priced work. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't at least get a HVAC or plumbing quote from them when repairs, replacement, or maintenance is needed. read more

Had a small sewer drain block. They came out and fixed but did not replace my backflow valve claiming they don't do that anymore. Found out it is code to have one so I had to get another plumber to install a new one. They never answered my inquiry into this. Would not use them again or recommend them. In fact I just replaced my HVAC unit and if they had done right with the plumbing issue I would have got it from them. read more

Last week, I woke up to an inch of standing water in my kitchen and had no idea what to do. I called a few different plumbers but none could get out immediately except Cottrell. Their service tech, Tim, arrived less than two hours after I called and got to work right away. He was incredibly respectful and understanding, and he had all of the pipes under my kitchen sink replaced within three hours. He found that the dishwasher hose was old and leaking slightly and that the old copper pipes feeding beneath the kitchen into the crawl space were rusted and sprung a leak, spraying water both inside and under the house. He fixed both everything in just under three hours! We're struggling financially and trying to fix up this absolute money pit of a house, so I was dreading how much it would cost. This repair would have cost us closer to a grand if I went with anyone else, but Cottrell charged $500 AND they have payment plans! I've already recommended them to everyone who will listen to me, and I'll keep recommending them, especially Tim specifically. read more

I had a leak in my bathtub area and called Cottrell and Co. for an estimate. I chose them because they were offering a free estimate and had pretty good reviews on Angie's List. They responded to my PM pretty quickly and we set up an appointment for a few days later. The gentleman that showed up was Josh and he was the lead master plumber for the company. He was very professional and polite and explained what the problem was with my bathtub and scheduled an appointment for a few days later to repair the issue. I was very impressed with Josh and as my first contact with the company, left a very positive impression on me. This morning, I received a phone call from Joseph telling me about what time he would be arriving. He was, just like Josh, very polite on the phone. He arrived with a partner (sorry, I already forgot his name!) and they both removed their shoes and entered my house. They looked at the problem and immediately went to work. They were both extremely polite and had the job done in less than an hour. I am very satisfied with my experience with Cottrell and Co. and am happy to have the number for a company that is trustworthy and good at what they do. I had a bad pressure reducer item, which I installed myself several years back. I decided that I would remove it and go without one. Well, I got it patched, but it leaked. I decided that I should get a pro. I called for service on a Saturday morning. They came out and verified that my water pressure without the pressure reducer was required. It was at 125 and should be at 75. They put everything in and fine tuned the pressure reducer to be exactly 75. On Sunday, I noticed that the box that houses the pressure reducer was full of water. It had rain that day, but I thought it did not seem right. I shop vac the water out and water came back in. I called to report the issue. They had me check the meter and it showed no leaks. Without a charge they came out Monday morning to verify that everything was correct. It turns out that the rain and the previous leak saturated the ground. They took the extra step to make sure everything was done right. I hated spending the money to have a pro do something I should have been able to do, but the peace of mind has made it worth the money. Thank you. read more
