Went in today for a severe sore throat. I was seen by Dr Peterson who wasted no time in diagnosing me. He said this was super serious, if it went on further I'd be going to the emergency room for emergency surgery. I was completely shocked after visiting another instacare being told to wait out the viral infection on day 2 of being sick. I'm so glad I went for a 2nd opinion. This was day 12 & I felt hopeless and fearful I was just going to be told to wait it out. Thank God for Dr Peterson taking all this away & giving me the care I so desperately needed. I feel super blessed and lucky to have walked in there & to find a Dr specializing in sore throats. He said I had bad luck because he only sees this maybe twice a year. But I also think I had good luck to get him as my Dr today. I can't thank you enough Dr Peterson for my experience today & for my future health. I'm so grateful. Also shout out to Nurse Taylor S. She checked me in & was super friendly & most importantly caring. That was our first sign that we were going to have good care. The way they run the InstaCare/kid care makes no sense. We come in with 2 kids in front of us, and 6-10 adults come in after us, yet all of the adults are seen before we even go back. I would think that sick kids would be just as big of a priority as the adults, they do not make you feel that way. read more

a subpar instacare at best... A good thing is that they're open until 11 pm... bad thing is that their doctors aren't great. My first experience with them was back in 2022, I came in with a spider bite, specifically a brown recluse, I came in 2 days after the bite with irritation and concerns. The doctor at the time was dismissive and had said "there are other people here with bigger issues", gave me a topical cream and sent me home, 3 days later I lost feeling in my leg and present with necrosis... i went to park city instacare - if you have 30 minutes to spare, I would 100% recommend going there. I went here again a few days ago for an allergic reaction - the nurse was kind and responsive, very professional and sympathetic The doctor however, acted like he didn't know what was going on and like he was guessing for most of the time... Overall - if you have the time I'd go to a difference place. The nurses have been above and beyond which give them credit, but the doctors are dismissive and feel inexperienced. read more

I've been to this instacare a few times in the past, but never wrote a review. Compared to other instacare services I've used, this one is pretty good. If I was doing a comprehensive review of this service, I would probably give it three stars, but I'm only going to review for this particular visit, so it gets a four star rating. On this occasion, I came in because my extremely elderly 18 year old cat got too over zealous in grabbing a treat out of my hand and ended up stabbing my thumb with one of her monstrous fangs instead. Now for those who don't know, cat bites can actually be very dangerous, and not really being keen to go to a medical facility right now I watched and waited over night. The day after the bite, my thumb was red, swollen, painful, and too warm so I went in with my battle wound wrapped in a solitary bandaid and clutched to my chest. First thing people should know if they're coming in during COVID, is that if you're not the chosen one (the patient), you don't get to come in. There is a COVID guard (a nurse at a table) at the front who will ask some questions before you're allowed into the medical castle. From there you can go check yourself in. The check in process was fairly smooth. The woman I interacted with was friendly and professional, but the other woman was practically yelling at this other patient to stand away from the counter on the foot prints further back. It was pretty rude and unprofessional, especially in a medical facility, and I felt bad for him. No one deserves to be treated poorly, especially if you're not feeling well. A polite request to stand on the foot prints would have been just fine. Anyway, no one was ahead of me so I got in pretty fast. The doctor I saw was quick, proficient, and had a good sense of humor--I think. It's always hard to tell when people are joking when you can't see their faces, but as an optimist, I will assume he was joking otherwise I might feel really awkward. He looked at my thumb and gave me his professional opinion that my ferocious cat bite was actually infected. He also checked my throat while I was there because it had been sore for a couple months and I'd been losing my voice when talking, and he confirmed that I needed to see an Ears Nose and Throat specialist. He gave me some antibiotics for my diseased thumb and something he thought might help my throat, which I got filled at the pharmacy at the instacare since I figured it would be faster than going to my pharmacy. Buuuut I was wrong because after it was called in, their computer system went down, so I had a rather long wait, but the pharmacy staff was all very nice and apologetic for the inconvenience. There's a lot I will forgive with a smile if the staff have good customer service skills. *This paragraph is an edit because I forgot it: Everything is clean and what you would expect from a medical facility. Don't expect them to have the masks out front anymore like they used to because they're in such short supply. Maybe the castle guard at the front has them if needed, but I didn't ask because I brought one. Also if you think you might have COVID, the pharmacy asks that you do drive through if you are able.* In the past I've had 'meh' visits to this instacare--some of which made me wonder if the doctors had gotten Cs in medical school--but I've had a few good doctors too. With Instacare, it really is a game of doctor roulette, but if you really need them in a pinch, then it's not bad and sometimes its actually pretty good. Instacare is like the fast food of health care. It's quick, it's easy, and it works for what you need in the moment, but I wouldn't want all my medical care to come from it. read more

I visited on a weekday at 5pm and waited about 15 minutes before being called back. I had joined the list ahead of arriving, but I don't know if it really made any difference since there didn't seem to be anyone else around. The entire facility looked brand new and was very pleasant to wait in. I appreciated the screen in the waiting area with the wait times for all of the urgent care clinics in the area, just in case I doubted my decision to visit this location. The receptionist and medical staff were all very friendly. However, I was very disappointed with the level of care I received from the doctor. He was with me for no more than 90 seconds. His diagnosis: "It's not pink eye, it's not a stye. But we will treat it like at stye and I'll send an antibiotic cream prescription to the pharmacy for you to put on the inside of your eyelid". And then he was gone. I at least hoped, for $160, I would have a little more time to describe my symptoms ? Next time, I'll probably spend $40 for an appointment online instead of wasting my time at this Instacare. read more

Provider was very dismissive of my concerns. Was really quick to write it off as a " really bad cold " trying to send me home. We had initial conflict/ confrontation. I told provider I did not feel he was listening to my biggest concern. Called me accusatory and argumentative. I mentioned of previous conversations with other physicians having the same concern on same day. He was under the impression I wanted a specific procedure I NEVER asked for by name. Then said " if I would have just given you .... , you would've been fine" Not the case. Finally after argument he offered a lab, which he could have offered to avoid the entire confrontation. That then turned into more labs and procedures. Turns out I need follow up care, THE NEXT DAY for those lab results. After getting my results he came in with a completely different attitude and seemed more willing to listen. I'm glad the visit got better overall, but it was not a great experience for someone who is already struggling. read more

When my kid started coughing last night, we immediately looked to see whether there was even an instacare open. This was the only location open til midnight. I was so impressed with the staff. They were very friendly, checkin was a breeze, and they even offered to call us when it was our turn (vs waiting in the waiting room with all the other sick people). The medical assistant and Dr. Smith were fantastic with my son. He got stickers and a popsicle. Dr. Smith was so friendly and warm that my son didn't put up any kind of fight when he was examined. I found out the results via text after the facility was closed, which was nice. We were in and out in 75 minutes. A fantastic experience overall. read more

The urgent care is fantastic. I was a patient here for the first time in January. I had severe symptoms at the time. The staff took me in right away. They gave me IV medication, IV hydration and put me in a comfortable bed. They ran all the tests needed ASAP and came up with a plan for my recovery. I had to return the next few days for more treatment and everyone is so friendly and helpful. I never had much of a wait. Tonight I had to bring my daughter in. They did a thorough test before you walk in to make sure it's not COVID related, including taking your temp, asking questions and having you sanitize. The staff up front was very helpful. My daughter was seen within minutes. She was in a lot of pain and was nervous. The doctor, Adam, was so friendly and reassuring. He ended up helping her in a way that ended up being painless. He took his time during the process to make sure she wasn't in pain. He was patient and friendly. The nurse was wonderful too. My daughter was so thankful and now she only wants to me seen here. I am what healthcare providers call a "frequent flyer." I seem to get sick outside of business hours, usually. I've been to the Murray Instacare 5+ times, and had an excellent experience each time. The office is fairly new, modern, and clean. The staff is always friendly. I usually come in for respiratory issues, and they always get me seen immediately when they see I'm in respiratory distress....which isn't the case in some places (like an ER that knew I was having difficulty breathing and it took over an hour to be taken through triage.) I took my daughter in for a sore throat recently, and the rapid strep test came back negative. But they cultured it out, and it was positive. The nurse called me the next evening to let me know they'd already called in a prescription to the pharmacy for me. The Murray Instacare is centrally located in the heart of the SLC valley, and I have been to all of them (Sugarhouse, Sandy, Taylorsville, etc) and now that I've had such consistently good experiences at Murray...Murray is where I always go. read more

I have been to this Instacare many times and have always been happy until today. I went in about 2:30 (an hour or so after I fell and hurt my ankle). My ankle was extremely swollen and I couldn't not put much weight on it. I came in pushing my 4 month old in a stroller so I was already struggling... I had my appointment and all my doctor said was your ankle isn't broken, so you want a brace? He didn't tell me what was wrong, didn't tell me what to do to help it, didn't say anything about icing it or elevating it. He said I had popped a blood vessel but I didn't know what that meant. Then as I was leaving, nobody helped me open any doors, I was struggling to get out. I was in a lot of pain and they knew that because of my blood pressure. I was just very unhappy with my visit! I wish they would have taken more time to actually show me they care for their patients! read more

Worst experience at an instacare or any doctors office I have ever had. My doctor was so rude and unprofessional. I had been prescribed a medication and had gotten HORRIBLE side effects from it. With it being after hours, I came here instead of calling my normal doctor. The doctor that had seen me only made me feel like I had done something wrong, taking the medication I was given in correct dosages. He went out of his way to make sure I was not given any help and sent me home in the exact same amount of pain. As a doctor, your job is to help your patients and provide solutions. Instead, I was talked down on and made me feel more anxious and scared than before I came in. Will not be returning and I suggest others do not as well if they actually need help for issues they are having. read more

I had a bad cold/cough/sore throat for three weeks that got worse, so I finally went into this Instacare. At 11:00 on a Friday night. Everyone there was professional and courteous. There were several other patients ahead of me, but I was out within an hour and barely made it to a rite aid to get a prescription filled. The physician asked appropriate questions, listened to my lungs and heart, checked my ears, throat and sinuses, and spent enough time to diagnose my illness. On 09/17/2019 about 11:30 pm I went to this Instacare looking for a doctor who could look into a pain I was having on my left ear for two days. I start to worry about a ear infection. I spoke with a doctor named Timothy Lan for less than 5 minutes, which by the way I couldn't find any information about him, which i start to think the front desk gave me his name wrong, since I mention to her that I was going to do a formal complain against this doctor. He was unprofessional, rude and condescending and I'll report this doctor to the Utah medical board. I'm sure he have done this to other patients. When he came in, he exam my left ear, and said he didn't see any signs of infection neither wax on ear canal. I was happy to hear that I didn't have an ear infection, but I was puzzle why than I was having pain deep inside my ear. When I tried to ask this doctor what could cause this, this doctor with an attitude repeat the same diagnosis and said "I'm not going to repeat again what I just said" when I tried to formulate the question so he could understand what I was asking, than he was really rude and say " if you are stupid that you can't understand what I just said, is not my fault. You asked me what it is and I told you what it is". At that point I got really offended and I told this doctor "That's enough!! " he left the room saying I'm not going to discuss this with you and this conversation is over". That's not an acceptable behavior from this doctor, since I was paying for the service, which I'll dispute this visit, since this doctor refuse to answer my question. I'll call this Instacare today find out the real name of this doctor, report this incident to a manager and let them know that I'll call Utah medical board to report this doctor and I'll dispute this service charge with my insurance. I'll never step to that location again, and I'll make sure people know how bad this doctor is. read more

Earlier today I took my roommate to the instacare. This was after several days of seeing her uncontrollably sob after walking for more than several minutes because of the excruciating pain in her knees. After telling the doctor about all of her symptoms and how the pain isn't manageable, she left the hospital. The doctor had the audacity to tell her that she seemed fine, and her thigh muscles probably just weren't strong enough. That's it. She got an intense pain out of nowhere that has completely ruined her quality of life but she "seems fine". That's what this hospital considers taking care of their patients. Never thought I would say these words but, "I had a good experience at urgent care". Didn't think it would be possible because urgent cares are normally the worst. This one was way above par though! First of all, the place is incredibly clean and new. Not the grungy after hours care that makes you wonder if it will just make you more sick. The receptionist was warm and friendly and quickly took my information. I sat down in the waiting room and they called my name 2 mins later. The nurse who took my vitals and strep test was always completely lovely, even asked if she could get me a glass of water. I had Dr. Smith and he was kind and thorough. Caught that I had a sinus infection and sent me with some prescriptions that have me feeling much better this morning! Kind of wishing I hadn't waited 10 days to go see someone! Now keep in mind that the doctors rotate, so I'm sure your experience would be different with a different doctor. If you can get Dr. Smith then you're in luck. Also, I haven't gotten the bill yet, so maybe I'll be filled with regret then. Hah! The receptionist was able to give me an estimate though for a typical appointment, which I appreciated. I live 35 mins south, which is such a bummer, but this will always be an option for me for after hours care. Especially since they are open till midnight! Oh and they also treat children, so if my pediatricians office is closed (their after hours ends at 9pm), it's nice knowing I can go here instead of ER. read more

BEWARE of MISDIAGNOSIS. I came to the instacare for help with illness. The doctor x-rayed me, we looked at the xray together, I saw what looks like pneumonia, but I'm NOT A doctor. So he diagnosed me with a "virus" after he looked in my nose. I went home relieved that I didn't have PNEUMONIA. Alas, the nurse called the next day to say the RADIOLOGIST looked at my x-ray AND he diagnosed me with Pneumonia!! So they prescribed me 10 days of antibiotic that made me vomit. (sorry gross description). I asked and asked for Z-pack so the doctor called in a 5 day 750mg prescription of Levofloxacin that has the MOST outrageous side effects that you may or may not get and may or may not go away. However two meds I'm taking already affect me so I requested Z-pack again. Finally they called it in, and this time I received 3 days worth of Z-pack at 500mg a day. Why not 5 days? The nurse who took my calls was at first nice, and then became very condescending when I asked why not the zpack. I understand people request zpack for colds but this isn't a cold. read more

Looked in both my ears said it's not infected, Give it a week and if it doesn't get better go to a specialist, stood up and walked out. Took 45 minutes just to get checked in with one person ahead of me. My check-in took all but 3 minutes. Everyone there acted as if they had better places to be. I'm pregnant. My OB/GYN encouraged me to get to the Instacare to get tested for a yeast infection due to the office having crazy hours for the holidays. I went in and the doctor was horrible. He answered like 3 phone calls in the middle of the appointment and when he came back in the room one of the times he said 'The truth is if you miscarry, you miscarry. It is what it is. That's life. Maybe that sounds bad but ya know...' I was't concerned about that possibility until he said that. I reiterated that I had no spotting or bleeding and that I was there about a possible vaginal infection and he said 'Oh' and then suggested the possibilty of chlamydia. He never even looked at me or asked any questions. I was absolutly shocked and I was even more appalled when he handed me the swabs and walked me to the bathroom while taking another call. 2 days later and NO ONE has the results. My personal doctor said to disregard what he said and that he was out of place. I will not be back if I can help it. read more

We were worried that my little girl might have a broken arm, so I took her in on a Saturday night. They got us in quickly. We were in and out in an hour. The nurse said she had looked at the xray and she didn't think it was broken, but a radiologist would look at it and call us the next day to let us know for sure. She said that they don't always cast broken arms any more, so she put a splint on it. Two days later I still hadn't heard back, so I called. The nurse looked at the notes and it said that a radiologist had looked at it two days before and had written in the notes to continue treating as suggested and if it still hurts it 10 days to come back. It didn't state clearly if it was even broken or not. I finally had to ask the nurse, "yes or no, is it broken"?She said, "I don't think so". I told her it probably would have been better if I just waited it out through the weekend and went to her pediatrician next time. Her comment was,"What are you talking about, instacares are cheap". I asked why I was never even called and she just read the doctors notes to me again. It started out as a great experience and ended up very disappointing. read more

I went to this Instacare to get my ears cleaned. They build up with wax quickly and need to be cleaned regularly. I went there today and one of my ears wasn't too bad however the nurse that was doing the cleaning spayed the solution in my ear so hard and so many times that when I left I could hear less than when I arrived. She obviously bruised my eardrum or something...I now have an appointment with my regular physician to see what damage she caused. I won't ever go back to this location for treatment! read more

Honestly appalled by this clinic. My family member tested positive for MUMPS-A HIGHLY INFECTIOUS DISEASE.. Only this clinic told me twice that he was negative for the disease. I had to hear from the health department that the doctor and staff "majorly screwed up" and NEVER reported the case to the state. Needless to say, I have no faith in IHC. They care more about "state of the art" facilities than they do about actual patient care. Terrible. read more

Probably the worst instacare I've been too. I went there yesterday after my OB said I needed some fluids in me after puking so much. I went there and from the beginning the doctor was questioning the stupidest things. I'm a nurse I know the rundown. She questioned me after I said their is a possibility of being pregnant and am on clomid asking if my doctor even knew if there was side effects such as nausea (really?). She took lab work and then wanted to send me to the er because my blood count was high. I told her if she looked at the ER notes from 3 months ago she would have seen I was their for that reason and head every test imaginable done, her excuse? " well reading the ER notes is hard." She did give me some IV fluids but during the time I had an IV she had the nurse give me a shot for nausea, in my quad muscle. I give shots daily and 1: why didn't she just shoot it through the IV, 2) I give shots daily, you don't put it in the quad!! She then said she would send me home and call in a RX for nausea meds. Today I go to pick it up. She never sent it in!!! She didn't even fill out the RX to be sent when I called to ask why she didn't send it in. So bottom line if you go there ask if the doc with short blonde hair is there. Is she is walk away. read more

I went in on a Saturday night with all the symptoms of the flu and my main concern was my chest and coughing. After waiting in the room for a half hour without anyone even checking in on me. The doctor came in, first thing he did was look in my nose then instantly said I had a sinus infection. I didn't understand how he could diagnose me that quickly without checking everything first. He barely listened to my lungs and was out of the room in less than five minutes. I ended up going in to see my doctor first thing Monday morning because I was still really sick. She actually listened to my concerns and tested me for the flu. Which turned out to be what I have. I am really upset because I paid Instacare $150 to be misdiagnosed, treated really unprofessionally, not listened to, and the doctor was out of the room in 5 mins. I could have been given a prescription for the Tamiflu because I was still in that 48hr window. But as of today (Monday) I am not. I called the Instacare office asking to speak to the manager, I was told they would call me back. I have not heard anything back from them. It's really disappointing that this was my only option for medical help without going to the ER and I was treated so poorly by the doctor. I would be better off going to the ER and paying a higher amount to be treated right. read more

I went in because I had am open wound sore on my leg, when I saw the doctor was told that "I don't know what to tell you that's not my specialty" I was expecting anything special other then to tell me if it was infected and/or what would be the best way to clean and treat the wound. Received none of that. very disappointed. front end staff was nice as well as the CNA that took vitals but other then that there would be no reason for me to visit this facility again pretty useless if you ask me. My dad took me in to have treated a little bit of deep cut I got on my right middle finger which was caused by while sweeping in our driveway the broom with a metal handle broke on me and cut my finger it was in a couple spots but one of the cuts was kind of deep so luckily had my insurance/medicaid info on file only paid If I remember correctly a $3.00 co-payment so got seated only waited a minute doctor took us back talk to us we explained everything they took blood pressure & pulse took us back into a room looked at my finger got a nurse/surgeon to see me very nice Indian lady came in to further examine the cut I was told I would need to be X-Rayed if the finger had gotten smashed but that didn't happen luckily cause it didn't get smashed when I got the cut so I got my finger numbed up so she could look at that cut to see how deep it was my finger was then cleaned sterilized and my finger was then stitched up only has 4 in it had to get a doctor's note for work cause of the work I do at my job cause it couldn't get wet the first few days and later could get it wet but not put completely inside water read more
