I am truly beside myself. Honestly, if there were any way to give this place less than 1 star I would for sure. My experience at Cottonwood was honestly the single worst travel experience I have had in terms of lodging. First and for all, we were promised a spacious cabin with a kitchen, dining room, and front porch. What we were given was a shanty, possibly assembled by a local boyscout troop, which was quite possibly less than 100 sq ft, with a dirty kitchen, a dining room which was apparently just a fold-up table in the middle of the room, and a front porch which was a few pieces of wood thrown on top of each other. There was no private bathroom or shower, so keep that in mind as well. I'll address this later on. Next up, tho, let me talk about the management. Wow. That's truly the only way to describe it. Actually, no, you could also call it trash because that is what it is. After miraculously managing to sleep 6 people in this wreckage known as Bunkhouse for 4 days, we received an e-mail claiming we stole equipment from them. At first, we thought maybe someone had accidentally picked something up, but after looking through our belongings, we found that this was not actually the case. The owners were unable to grasp the concept that they probably lost their own stuff and still charged us a large sum of money for the apparently stolen goods. Oh yeah, and back on the topic of bathrooms, the little jackass who runs the site charges $5 for a shower... I would never recommend this place. Find somewhere else in Montana to stay. Find other fishing sites. Find other alternatives. If you drive by and are tempted to stay, just keep driving. Don't, really please don't, stay at Cottonwood Camp. P.S. they say they have wi-fi but it doesn't work. read more
