It's well-maintained, has modern conveniences: a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, smart tv, and wi-fi that works well. There was an old fashioned looking radio to keep with the theme, but it also had blue tooth for a nod to the modern. The bed is comfortable but the pillows were a little weird: two were standard soft and two were heavy and filled with something that made them good for sitting up in bed but not for sleeping. Maybe that was the point because this room did not have a chair. The bathroom was separated from the room by a barn door that saved space although the bathroom was roomy enough. Horseshoe also provided a separate set of towels in all sizes for cleaning shoes, wiping off mud, or dealing with general messes. This was much better than those small disposable squares. There's only real keys for entry into rooms, with a big metal key chain attached, so it's unlikely to get lost. It's a nice break from the plastic cards used in modern hotels, but doesn't fit into the pocket as easily. Numbered parking for the room is right outside your door, sort of, but I'm not sure anyone was paying attention to matching room number with parking spot but you'll be reasonably close.

Bobbi, the owner, is THE MOST generous and humble woman - she'll wake up at 4:15 AM and brew fresh hot coffee for our production team, video crew, and cowboy talent before we run out the door for early call time. The Wyoming High Country Lodge is a very special place. Not only are its surroundings beautiful,…read morebut the folks who run the lodge are extremely kind and helpful, and the food is consistently excellent. The rooms in the lodge are clean and cozy, there are many spots around for lounging and socializing, and there's no better way to end the day than with a hot drink by the fire in the dining room (okay, except for maybe the hot tub, which is open 24/7). Snowmobiles are available for rental on a daily or half-day basis, which allowed us to venture out further than we could've on foot. The lodge also has snowshoes to borrow to trek around, which were very useful after all the powder the area got during the week we were there. I'd love to return again with friends or family to share this remote gem.

Crumbs on table, hairs in and around tub. hairs on sink, and urine spots on the toilet seat. I had to clean the toilet myself before I could use it. Pillows looked like they were just turned over instead of replacing the pillow cases because there were longer hairs on them. The tv worked in the evening but there was a large yellow spot in the middle of the screen about 4 inches in diameter that glowed. Closing the curtains and turning off the lights didn't resolve it. Couldn't find a glare anywhere causing it. The tv only had a frozen picture on every channel in the morning with no sound. I couldn't get anything to play on multiple stations, but that large glowing yellow spot was still there covering part of the frozen picture. The smell of the room was musty in the evening which probably is due to uncleaned carpet that also had dirt and what looked like are crumbs on it. In the morning, there was a strong odor of sewage. All of the hairs were black so probably came from the last person who stayed there. I have to wonder if they replaced the sheets or blanket. I brought my own pillow which I used. I didn't pull the sheets back and just slept on top of the bed. I didn't even remove my socks till I left as the carpet was dirty. Horrible experience. I didn't bother using their towels or washcloths because they were probably not replaced either. There was a large yellow soap like stain in the bath tub as well, likely from a bar of soap. Do not go here. It was awful

Our room was spacious and clean and included everything we could need to stay comfortable. Coffee, refrigerator, microwave. The beds were fresh and clean and had pleanty of warm blankets to keep me nice and toasty and snug no matter what the weather was like. It's located directly off the main road so walking to get fast food and ice cream was nice and convenient. I really enjoyed my stay in this quaint little motel and I will definitely be back!

This is the closest gateway town to the Eastern entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It's a good hour drive west to the gate with not a lot in between, so be sure to gas up in town. We also toured Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area which is an hour East. This was the best location for what we wanted to accomplish in the area

We caught fish - most of which were large. The food was excellent. On trips like these I have often subsisted on Doritos, peanuts, and other questionable ultra processed "food". This time each dinner included a huge salad, meat, a starch - pasta, rice, etc. and a vegetable plus desert. Excellent and we didn't go away hungry. My favorite meal is breakfast and you get a wide choice of options including my favorite bacon and eggs. Lunches were provided on our floats of the Bighorn and were very good with more food than I could eat. Dave and Cary and their two labs were great hosts. I highly recommend

I booked Thursday thru Sunday and brought my 26 year old son along for the trip. Everything about our stay was perfect! the lodge and our cabin was clean, welcoming and comfortable. The food was excellent, and our fishing guide Chad was incredible. We caught dozens of fish over two days, and when coming back to the lodge at the end of the day we were welcomed by Cary and David with a cold drink and a great dinner. Cary and David provide guests with everything they need, and no detail is overlooked. I highly recommend the Bighorn Riverview Lodge and Cabins, it was perfect, and can't wait to go back!
