Awesome find! We were on a 42 day ride around the country motorcycle trip and stumbled upon this hotel. It is in a little town of greybull which wad along the back roads we love exploring. It is a historical registered property that was a traveller's with a speakeasy located in the basement area. The inn kept most of its historic roots and added a few modern amenities. One of the owners and staff we met were above and beyond helpful and accommodating. The room we stayed in was charmingly date appropriate with updated bathroom. The tin sheet ceiling looked recently redone. The room was clean and comfortable. We highly recommend a stay here when you are exploring local small town experiences. read more

To say this is the most wholesome hotel I've ever stayed in is a complete understatement. I loved absolutely everything about it. It has a cute vintage-y vibe to it and in all honesty feels like my grandparents' cottage. Icouldn't recommend it any more. read more

This was part of a long road trip. To be exact a 2300 mile road trip to see some of the National Parks in the west. I was on my way from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone, when I stopped for the night at the Hidtoric Hotel Greybull. Rumors of a haunted hotel, how could I resist. The four stars are because I saw no apparitions. It's about 2 hrs from Yellowstone and 1 hour from Cody. I booked it in June and arrived in September. Frankly, I did not want to pay Cody Hotel prices and it was on my way to Mount Rushmore. When I arrived they checked my reservation and I was in. Built in 1914 it contains some of the old charm with some modern interior updates. There is a long climbing staircase to the hotel rooms. Mine was down a long hallway which looked kind of quirky with the older faucet in the room but the modern closet shower. I liked it. The room and bed was clean and I slept like a log. Never saw the 6 ghosts that are suppose to haunt the place. The present owners Miles Foley and Lori Davis were very pleasant. The bathroom was down the hall. Not a problem for me. Where the hotel lobby is now there used to be a bank, Wyoming State Bank. Downstairs is the Speakeasy restaurant, People who stayed that night when I was there said the food was good. The WiFi was 800 kb/s, fast. It's located at the intersection of 14/16 and 20 which was very convenient for my trip to Rapid City. Greybull is a small town and the Greybull Hotel is a great place to spend the night. I paid around $70. Two things I would change are: 1) continental breakfast is served 7-9AM, I had to leave by 6Am, 2) the light in the room at night from the street lights could be too much for some. I was so tired from driving that it was not an issue. read more

If you're stopping in Greybull, this is definitely the spot to stay! The hotel is gorgeous, and the staff are so friendly! Miles went above and beyond for our party of 3. We stayed in the extremely comfortable "Rum Runner's" suite, great amenities full kitchen (cheese grater) and glowing neon photo ready room. Constructive criticism: Small travel-sized toiletries in the bathrooms over full sized "shared" toiletries. read more

When we visited here, it was the end of summer. Makes you wish you new about this town a LONG TIME AGO. Like a great secret place. Food at the speak easy - was all class. The atmosphere was on target and you could feel the roaring 20's in the shadows. Food - don't expect to take any home, you eat it ALL. I had the largest prime rib, expecting to snack on it the next day while on the road - NOPE - ate it all and wanted to lick the plate. It has been a long time since I ate such a large piece of meet like that. The compatible veggies were as fresh as they can get, the potato was better than Grandma's garden. Price was much less than the quality delivered. In Cody, this would have been a $50+ meal easy. Oh, ask about the haunted stories. And tip those waitresses well, they rock ! read more

This is a beautiful old building that has been lovingly restored. The rooms are very comfortable and roomy. This is definitely the coolest hotel that we found on our entire trip out west. read more

Ok, first of all, I've never stayed here, so you can probably ignore this part of the review and just skip down to the restaurant review. Anyway, now that I've disclosed that...a friend stayed here and really liked it. We are both photography buffs and the owner was nice enough to allow us the run of the place to take pics. It's an interesting old building and he has each room set up and decorated differently. It's exactly the kind of place I would want to stay at if I were driving through the west. The prices are really inexpensive, my friend says that the bed was comfy and she slept well. The only reason I stinged on that last star is the entrance. If I were not familiar with the place I wouldn't like the way you get in, via a long stairwell straight from the street, it needs a lobby entrance. Whether you stay or not, don't miss the chance of eating at the Speakeasy It's called the Speakeasy because that's what it was during Prohibition times. Awesome ambience!!!! read more

Late night drive from Yellowstone to Rapid City and looking for place to lay our heads. Pull up and saw closed but called number. Miles answered and had someone rush down and let us in! Room was classic and very clean. Took us back in time! To add to it we left a Drivers license on table. Miles called us a few hours later and was so kind to mail priority to our next stop! This is a great little place we stopped at on our way to Yellowstone. We didn't have a reservation and arrived past 10 pm. They fortunately had a room available and the mayor of the town got up to let us in to the apartment! Our room wasn't in the actual hotel - it was across the street in another building. we booked three rooms for a family gathering. There were definite problems from the beginning -- should of given us a sign to only do one night. first night everyone all checked in and getting ready for bed when pulled back the sheets and spotted black hair and what felt to be either salt or sand on the bottom sheet. first night disappointed and angry as there is no one in office to help with the problem after9pm. Breakfast was a bigger disappointment. we left our bedding piled on top of bed hoping when return from the next day outing we would have clean sheets and bed made-- NOPE bedding was exactly like we left it, did get clean towels but NO TOILET PAPER GRRRR again if after 9pm no one to help. Most horrible experience ever from a hotel took picture of the dirty sheets but don't know how to attach-- it was gross read more

I loved this place! It reminded me of my great grandmas house. Definitely historic. It was so adorable and very honey with the furniture and bedding. I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms. They were fun and really nice. The staff was also exceptionally friendly and easy going! If I ever come through Wyoming again, I will definitely be staying at the Historic Hotel Greybull!! read more

My girlfriend and I had the privilege of staying in Greybull Wyoming at the "Historic Hotel Greybull". The owner, Myles Foley is a kind and generous host. We had made reservations several weeks in advance online so we really didn't know what to expect. When we checked in (Sunday night thru Tuesday morning) the hotel wasn't filled and Mr. Foley upgraded us to a nicer room. The ambiance is late 1800 early 1900 ish, as Mr. Foley has been restoring the hotel for the last several years and it is very nice stay. The town is very friendly and inviting. A local bartender after finding out my girlfriend likes to hunt rocks and arrowheads met us in the morning (one of her precious days off, as she has 3 jobs) and took us to her favorite hunting grounds so we could paw through the dirt looking for interesting rocks etc. I look forward to returning for another visit in the future and would recommend the hotel and town from my experience. read more

Our family stayed here several months ago and had a great experience. The rates were great for the roomy suites. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the stay. Our beds were very comfortable.The owner even took us on a tour of the building (restaurant, old vault..). If I pass through Greybull again, I will definitely stay there! read more

I made a last-minute reservation after a work trip got moved around and there were no hotels closer to my work site. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, the hotel has been tastefully renovated, and the room was very comfortable. I had my own little apartment, complete with kitchen, and while the historic theme could easily have been kitschy, it instead felt warm and welcoming. Note: the rooms vary in size, from a double bed with shared bathroom to the apartment-style rooms we were given. They are all adorable though. Not sure how the food is, as we weren't there Thurs-Sat when dinner is served, but I've heard good things from local colleagues. read more

I had reservations for 3 rooms for 2 nights. June 16 ,17, for a sister/cousin weekend. Very disappointing. First room to check in and it was a mess. Talked to an employee who got owner. Trying to explain room situation and he half listened to us. He left us to look at 2 rooms. Went back to office to tell which room each party would take. Again employee came and asked what we needed told her on what room I was taking. She failed to tell owner therefore causing confusion. After we all got checked in and was going to bed, we found hair and grainy stuff in sheets. Called to have new ones but no one answered. Sat, when we went back to Hotel for the night, beds and room were not cleaned. Only replaced towels. Breakfast was sad. We bought food at Walmart in Cody... Sunday when checking out we complained and owner said he would get onto housekeeping. Hotel needs more communication with staff. Most of our weekends are there being from area. We will NOT return. read more
