Great breakfast, super clean, and the new owners are amazing!!!! Fun town to spend the night in

Kenny and Christa are the lovely owners of this establishment, and they are true delight! Very clean rooms, very comfortable and homey atmosphere. Beautiful sitting area outside in the trees with a gazebo, tables and chairs. Breakfast is at a large table for all guests to sit down and meet/visit with over the most AMAZING home cooked farm-to-table food! They even sat down with us and we had a great conversation before we left on the last leg of our long motorcycle trip. We will most definitely be back to support this down to earth and hard working couple. Highly Recommend!!! read more

This hotel was an unexpected surprise - in a good way. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet and the bed was amazing. The best part are the hosts/owners who live onsite and prepare an amazing breakfast every morning. Between real eggs, som of the best bacon I have ever had, and the homemade sourdough pancakes and bread with homemade jam and fruit toppings, I doubt that I have ever had a better breakfast at hotel. This is a very cute place. The owners are new I believe bought this place in 2021. It may be listed as a motel but it is more like a Bed & Breakfast. Chocolates in the refrigerator & water. Ice cream bars when we checked in. Home made breakfast every morning. Including homemade jam,breakfast cake and more. Great coffee. Clean rooms with bath robes. Comfortable beds & enough pillows. Corn hole game in the yard. We had 9 motorcycles 17 people and we all felt the same. Wishing these new owners the best of luck and many years of success. read more

The Carter Inn is a small locally owned hotel. The rooms are very clean and the towels are extra soft. They have added nice touches such as free chocolates and bottled water in the rooms. The breakfast was amazing! Homemade sourdough toast and homemade jam. The eggs were delicious and fresh. read more

One of the best places I've stayed for a variety of reasons. Amazing couple own the place and are kind and helpful. Best breakfast I've had anywhere in awhile! Homemade sourdough bread and rhubarb jam..eggs and sausage..chia seed pudding. Great coffee. So good. Room was well done and very clean. Quiet night sleep. Reservation made almost two months in advance was "lost," which is pretty baffling since their system of an ancient woman scribbling names in a paper calendar seems so fool-proof. The same ancient woman had a really helpful shrug emoji attitude about the fuckup. Cool story, Carter Inn! read more

It is a cute we'll kept up Motel. The owners are so nice and helpful, great prices, they even baked cookies and had coffee and hot chocolate for us! The rooms are so clean, the beds are super comfy, and the pillows are great! I would definitely stay here again, and recommend them to anyone! Thanks for the great stay and hospitality! read more

I have never written a bad review, but my experience was so terrible I feel I should warn other people. I booked a room months in advance for a wedding. I also confirmed by calling a few weeks in advance. The owner was the one I spoke to both times. She confirmed; said she had us down for the room plus a rollaway, so she clearly had the details of our reservation. Then we showed up during the narrow check-in window (3-6pm), which pushed us to right before the wedding. Nobody was in the office or answering either of their telephones. We waited. The owner finally came out of the building for something else and we said we were waiting to be checked in. She was annoyed and said she was sold out. I told her we had a reservation. She huffed and said she'd look. Looked at her book and still said no. I told her I'd called to confirm. I asked her name and confirmed that she was the owner, the same person I'd spoken to when I booked AND when I confirmed. Later at the wedding I found out she had messed up reservations for the wedding party and so it seems she gave our room to them since they arrived the previous night; I get that mistakes happen, but she seems to have knowingly given our reservation away without bothering to let us know. She just tried hiding from us during check-in time and acting like she didn't remember us, and she offered no apologies. She was rude to other guests from the wedding too. This is a very small town with limited hotels so this was more than a minor inconvenience. We got lucky and found a cancellation at a lodge back up the mountain, but it made our family WAY late to the wedding and we had to drive back up the mountain twice that night. However, if it weren't for the luck of finding any sort of room we would have had to drive back to Casper that same night with a kiddo. read more

Great spot to stop for the night! We had rv trouble so to pull in late at night and have a hotel room ready and clean was a huge blessing.

Go elsewhere! Unaccomodating management and outdated rooms at an outrageous price. Unbelievably expensive for what you get. Gross worn out carpet, dirty bathroom, and an extra fee for my wife to stay in my room with me. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. read more

Nice owner run hotel in this small town of Tensleep. Updated, current, and has comfy beds. Owner was very nice and helpful. Great location as well, right down the street from the Ten Sleep Saloon, good food and drink. read more

Best kept secret in central Wyoming. Ms. Carter and her grandson Branton made our stay most enjoyable. Heck, we didn't feel like we were staying in a hotel - it felt like we were visiting family. Clean, nicely appointed rooms with solid walls blocking out any noise led to a great night of rest and sleep. If you're traveling through Ten Sleep, this is THE place to stay.
