Horseshoe Bend Motel is a nice, non-chain place that has the quirky charm of an old school hotel…read morecommon in small communities. The front desk staff is small town friendly. It's well-maintained, has modern conveniences: a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, smart tv, and wi-fi that works well. There was an old fashioned looking radio to keep with the theme, but it also had blue tooth for a nod to the modern. The bed is comfortable but the pillows were a little weird: two were standard soft and two were heavy and filled with something that made them good for sitting up in bed but not for sleeping. Maybe that was the point because this room did not have a chair. The bathroom was separated from the room by a barn door that saved space although the bathroom was roomy enough. Horseshoe also provided a separate set of towels in all sizes for cleaning shoes, wiping off mud, or dealing with general messes. This was much better than those small disposable squares. There's only real keys for entry into rooms, with a big metal key chain attached, so it's unlikely to get lost. It's a nice break from the plastic cards used in modern hotels, but doesn't fit into the pocket as easily. Numbered parking for the room is right outside your door, sort of, but I'm not sure anyone was paying attention to matching room number with parking spot but you'll be reasonably close.

The beautiful western decor, the cleanliness, and SUPERB hospitality nails this place out of the park. Bobbi, the owner, is THE MOST generous and humble woman - she'll wake up at 4:15 AM and brew fresh hot coffee for our production team, video crew, and cowboy talent before we run out the door for early call time. I can't recommend this place enough! Bobbi has really outdone herself. I can't wait to see what else she add's to the place! Boot Barn loves the Horseshoe Bend Motel!

We chose this motel kind of on a whim, but boy were we surprised! This is a lovely motel. It is…read moreold, but it has been well maintained and updated. As you drive in and see the grounds covered in flowers and grassy areas, you immediately know that the place is well cared for. The room was spacious (for a motel), the shower and bathroom were clean and well maintained. We loved it! If there is anything semi-negative to say, there is not always someone at the "front desk," but there is a phone number you can call if no one is there. That said, the front desk is in a lobby which is locked if someone is not at the desk. That means no access to ice if you needed it. We would definitely stay again and would recommend it to anyone.

Get away from the chain places. Take a chance and try a small-town motel, like the Cattlemen…read more It's an unusual property, about a block off the main street, in a quiet residential area, with only a few rooms, some of them pet-friendly, and at least one is a small apartment. That's the one I had. It's an older property. The front desk has limited hours. Check-in is simple, so is parking that allows parking in front of your room. You get a real key for your room. Cattlemen is not set up like a traditional motel. There are rooms on both sides of the building, but you don't realize it unless you walk around the property or have one of the rooms on the side street. I didn't hear any noises from any of the adjoining rooms, but the air conditioning might have muffled it. The room I had was a mini apartment with a full kitchen, big screen tv, sofa, kitchen table, a lot of closet and storage places. Although I didn't need any of that, I think this room would be a good place if I were in the area for an extended period of time or were traveling with kids. Being able to shop for groceries and have a meal in your room would be a nice break from restaurants. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the Wi-Fi worked well. There were only a couple of amenities in the bathroom but plenty of towels and hot water. There's a cute garden area in the front near the office and outside the other rooms on the side street. Some of the rooms on the side street have chairs outside the doors for guests to sit and enjoy their coffee (or other) as they watch small town life unfold in the residential area it shares. Cattlemen Motel is cute and quirky.

-12/2024- My husband…read moreand I were on a flight to Kalispell, MT that couldn't land due to fog. We ended up getting a voucher to stay in a hotel and I chose this one since it was at the top of the list. We really lucked out with this pick! If you have to stay in Billings overnight, this is the place you want to do it in. We were picked up from the airport by a very friendly shuttle driver. The worker at the front desk was very apologetic for not being faster in the check in process because they were completely unprepared to handle the influx of travelers due to the flight delay. While grateful for the apology, I felt like the check in process was incredibly quick and smooth. During check in, I realized I left my purse on the flight. As I was panicking and trying to find a way back to the airport, I passed the shuttle driver in the lobby. He said he was done making trips for the night, but didn't mind taking us back to the airport. This angel of a man drove us back, sat and waited the ten plus minutes it took them to find my purse, and then brought us right back to the hotel without expecting a thing! We were so grateful! The hotel was very, very cute and cozy. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas. There's a fireplace in the lobby that really just invites you in. There's a restaurant too that we would've loved to check out in the morning but didn't have the time for. The room was very clean and nice. I noticed this cool little advertisement offering a free glass of wine or beer if you came down to mingle at a certain time. They also had a coffee bar near the check in desk that was much appreciated the following morning after the wild night we had. They also let us know that if we needed water, we could snag some from the cooler in the fitness area. I thought that was a sweet thing to offer your guests. I don't know that we'll find ourselves in Billings, Montana again, but if we did, I would choose to stay here! Thank you, Northern Hotel, for taking care of us when everything was stressful and up in the air!
