The start of the meal was really the complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were thin and delicate yet crispy. Very satisfying. They are in a dry county so don't hope to have the customary beer. I ordered the carnitas which came with refried beans, Mexican rice, a small lettuce and tomato dice, corn or flour tortillas and a really good addition to the plate was thin slices of avocado. The carnitas (slow braised pork chunks) were so tender but under seasoned, the reason for one star deduction. Desert was a very well made flan which I enjoyed very much. Food here is great. There is usually very friendly wait staff. We have noticed that when the waiter or waitress wasn't very nice they weren't there very long. I would recommend everything on the menu. Haven't had anything that was bad. This also applies to the other 5 members of my family. read more

Worst service ever. The staff and owner were extremely rude. They accused our group of making a scene even though they were the ones yelling & waving their arms. When we went to leave, the owner's wife made a point of coming up to my friends and told them never to come back. Not a problem. They have permanently lost the business of 20 people. This was a good restaurant! It's not the best I've ever had, but it was a good, solid, exactly what you expect kind of Mexican restaurant. Of course, this is an Americanized Mexican restaurant, but that doesn't matter. The food is good, fast, hot, and smothered in sauce and cheese - just like we like it. We stopped in while driving from Texas to Indiana. I was pleased to find a decent place for lunch. Service was only so-so. I'm not sure why, because there was hardly anyone in there (weekday, around 1:30PM, so it's natural it was empty). Their salsa was not at all to my taste, and I didn't eat more than a couple bites. I don't know what was wrong with it. It was very bland and tasted basically like canned crushed tomatoes and not much else. The restrooms, however, were spotlessly clean. i ordered a ranchero seafood. after eating some of my shrimp, I tried the scallops and found them to be undercooked. I alerted the waiter who called another lady over whom I assumed to be the owner. She looked at the food and told me that it looked as though I had eaten half of my meal, which I had not. she told me that they could. It bring me something else unless they bought me a lunch portion. I agreed despite the fact that I had only eaten theee bites of my food. This was the first time I e ever sent food back anywhere, and I thought it was handled incredibly unprofessionally. Stayed in Malvern for a weekend trip to Hot Springs. Ate here with my husband one night. I had the chicken fajitas and he had the special dinner that was a sampler plate. One of the waitress came to get my money and kept about a dollar and a half for herself, without asking or even doing anything for the tip.
