    a plate of food

We eat at restaurants in a bigger city regularly and I forgot how wonderful non-chain, mom and pop Mexican food restaurant can be. This place has perfectly thin and crispy chips, flavorful food and BEEF flautas which are hard to find! The kids are excited about the fried ice cream. Lovely and attentive staff too. Will be coming back when we visit again!

The start of the meal was really the complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were thin and delicate yet crispy. Very satisfying. They are in a dry county so don't hope to have the customary beer. I ordered the carnitas which came with refried beans, Mexican rice, a small lettuce and tomato dice, corn or flour tortillas and a really good addition to the plate was thin slices of avocado. The carnitas (slow braised pork chunks) were so tender but under seasoned, the reason for one star deduction. Desert was a very well made flan which I enjoyed very much. The staff are very attentive and courteous. I would recommend this restaurant

Not too far off highway. Chips and salsa was pretty good. Guacamole watery and disappointing. Shrimp with Garlic was ok and street tacos were just ok too. Service was very nice. Coming from Texas where Mexican food is pretty amazing this was just mediocre.

Pollo loco Mexicano with ranchero sauce.

Holy Schneikies!!!! They were not pulling my leg in the previous reviews!…read more I don't know what the heck is wrong with me, but I've lived in the area for about a year and a half and thankfully checked Yelp today, Easter Sunday, to see what casual restaurants were open. This looked interesting, and I followed the reviews over the bridge to the road much less traveled. It is literally a little food trailer with an adjacent building and an awning with outdoor seating just sitting on the side of the road, pumping out excellent food and service. There was a decent little line when I arrived, but the staff is very friendly and apologized for a couple of items being completely blown out. That's what I get for showing up for lunch at 1 o'clock. I ordered the lingua burrito minus beans but add a little cheese and took the mild hot sauce on the side since I'm an old white lady and can't handle the super spicy stuff now. About 10 minutes later, they called my number and I sat down to open a to go box that contained a beautifully toasted burrito about the size of my head. The first bite knocked my socks off! And that's saying quite a bit because the first bite usually has nothing but tortilla and tomatoes and rice in it. From top to bottom this thing was jampacked with delicious tender lingua, but it was the fresh greens, delicious Mexican rice, the super yummy salsa and grilled onions plus whatever else they've blessed me with. Let's just put it this way: It was SO good, I left a $10 tip. The only cons I could find were a lack of napkins set out for self service or in my bag, and some ice for the sodas would be nice, but I don't even care. I moved here from California and have had a real hard time finding authentic Mexican cuisine. The only way you could make Valdiva Brothers any better as if they also did El Pastor and added the ice and napkins. It'll be on regular rotation now, I almost ate the whole thing. It was so delicious.

Based on other rave…read moreYelp reviews and our need for non-fried food we were so happy this little gem was on our travel path. Ordered a grande chicken burrito con todo. Service was friendly & prompt. The burrito was beautiful, well packed and delicious. Personal preference: would have loved a little more beans inside but overall it was so satisfying to eat. The little side of caramelized onions were savory and a perfect complement. The "mild" salsa was beautiful and deceiving. It had a real kick to it! If you're in the area, don't pass it up.

I pulled up and went to order and I was greeted by a lady with red hair and covered in tattoos she smiled at me and asked me how I was and If I would like to place and order. I told her it had been a while since I had been there and asked her what she recommended and she promptly said ohhh definitely a chicken and steak quesadilla or some birria nachos. I said oh I didn't seen the birria nachos on the menu so it must be new so I told her I'll take one of each. She said it would be about 15 mins and I was welcome to have a seat and wait I made sure to see if she was going to put gloves on and yes!! She did. About 5 mins later some guy came in yelling at her that she needed to hurry and make 2 orders he had just got she told him she was working on my order she would get to it as soon as she was done he looked at me and said (what did you get man) and I had grabbed a soda from the cooler and he said you already pay for your order man if not I need you to pay now and for you drink. She said yes he had already paid for everything already she finished my order and gave me an extra salsa I tipped her 5 dollars before I left and he stuck it in his pocket I said oh that was a tip for the cook and he said yeah ok ty have a good day. The food was impeccable I dont know what she does to it but I was so full I couldn't eat another bite I will definitely go back if she is cooking but he needs to learn manners
