Good pours and all the wines were low alcohol. They try and make them as natural as possible and are smaller batches than bigger wineries and labels. Friendly service as well. My only critique are the stools, they were really uncomfortable so sitting there for the whole tasting was not fun. We purchased one bottle and could have maybe purchased a couple others but we opted not to. I will also mention that there was a slight push to try and buy bottles at the end. Stopping short of saying "you should buy some bottles" but a lot of "nudges" and "hints" about buying bottles. We would definitely come back to try other pours.

I'm not one for white wines and I even loved their white varietals, so that should speak volumes! The staff member during our visit was very friendly and had excellent taste in music. The pours were generous as well, more so than a usual wine tasting! It was fun to sip wine and they even let us pick a vinyl to play while we visited. We were so impressed by the wine that we even joined their wine club. I can't wait to receive the first shipment! I'm also already planning our next visit to this tasting room, which is located in an awesome one road town. Located across the street from The Alamo Motel, where we stayed for the weekend, so we just walked across the street for our tasting. It really doesn't get much better than that! I definitely suggest making a trip to this charming wine tasting room and finding out for yourself what a treasure it is.

Standard Flight: $20/3 pours…read more This review covers two visits, one midweek in 2025 and one two weeks ago on a Friday. It's an interesting setup, as there is a separate room for Lumen Wines, however we were told that the tastings are done at the adjoining Pico restaurant. The nice thing is that because of the restaurant, you can do the tastings later in the day, after the other wineries in town have closed. I also noticed on their website that there's a garden patio as well. My one gripe is that on both visits, no one directly related to the wines was there to interact with us. The restaurant's staff provided all the tastings and wine info. WINES: Lumen's wines are hand-crafted with minimal intervention and made from grapes sourced from sustainable local vineyards, and their estate vineyards, which are farmed organically. Usually, this would make me skeptical, as wines like that do not typically match my wife and my palates. So, on our first visit, we tried a flight of their wines ('21 Chardonnay, '21 Pinot Noir, and a '21 Grenache), including a couple extra pours, like their Escence orange wine and the "Hey Ginger" Pet Nat. On this past visit, Pico was offering a 20th Anniversary special: a French Fries appetizer and a bottle of wine (your choice) for $30, so we opted to get a bottle of the '23 SBC Chardonnay which was excellent. All the wines were well-made, and I really enjoyed them, especially the Ginger Pet Nat, which was quite unique. Of course we took a couple bottles home with us. Overall, it's a nice winery to stop in and enjoy a tasting, glass, or bottle with lunch or dinner.

NOTE: For groups of 6 or more, they offer tastings at the vineyard. First visit and had a very nice tasting experience. The winery is in the heart of downtown Los Alamos, directly across the street from the post office. It has a cozy vibe with a nice wine bar and lounge seating area. Ramon, the owner/winemaker, was friendly and provided an interesting history of his family's wine journey. My wife and I shared the two tastings: Estate wines (Grenache, Syrah Noir, and Cab. Sauv.) and Meadowlark Vineyard wines (Syrah, Meritage, Red Blend, and Reserve Cab. Sauv.). They have 17 acres planted at the estate vineyard and they use French oak barrels, with a blend of new and neutral for aging. They produce about 600-800 cases a year, so definitely a boutique winery. The wines are well-made, and quite tasty. We took several bottles home with us. Amada Cellars is a nice place, and I recommend that you check them out when visiting the Los Alamos/Santa Ynez wine region.

The owner, Sonja, is a very cool, kind, talented and warm person. Her staff is kind and friendly (some of them are the owner's family, which is way cool). We'd heard a lot about Clementine Carter (formerly Casa Dumetz Wines) and the owner/winemaker, Sonja Magdevski. Honestly, based on what we heard about her style of wines, we didn't think that they were going to be a match for our palates, but we're so glad we stopped in and did some tastings. We ended up taking six bottles with us on our first visit and stopped in again in late 2025 for a follow up. WINES: The wines are well-made, utilizing minimal intervention, paleo-friendly, organic, and prioritizing sustainability. They focus on Rhône varietals grown in the Santa Barbara County wine country. IMO, the whites are dry/crisp, and the reds are on the lighter bodied side, but we've found ways to pair these types of wines with our meals, while we typically drink heavier/bolder wines on their own. We have plenty of wine friends that will love everything about Sonja's wines. They also sell bottles from other wineries they "adore", so no need to travel all over the place. They're your one-stop shop. In addition to wine making, Sonja has an adjoining coffee shop and offers some of the most delicious charcuterie boards and munchies to pair with your wine tasting experience. There's also a good-sized patio, should you feel like taking in some fresh air. Add Clementine Carter Wines to your "must visit" list. You'll thank me for it.

There's plenty of outdoor seating with tables and umbrellas. Indoor seating and tasting is also available. I came here because I was in the area, and wanted to purchase two bottles of the Rosè for a party. After sampling it at a recent event; it made me want more! I'm picky when it comes to a Rosè, but this one hit all the right notes. It's 93% Grenache & 7% Marselan. It's light, fruity, a little dry and has the perfect balance of tart & sweet. The best part is the wines here are all organic, environmentally friendly, vegan, no additives, and minimal sulfur. Prices are very reasonable. I wish I could have stayed to do a flight tasting, but I will definitely return. Thank you Cody for helping me out during my visit here. Looking forward to coming back soon!

It was the first of five tastings we did during our weekend in town, and the wines were, admittedly, the least impressive. They went down easy, though, and we had a pleasant visit. We checked into our hotel on Friday around 5:30 and quickly realized that all the wineries on our list were closed. We asked the receptionist where we might be able to do a tasting, and she said Carhartt was our best bet. It was quite open when we walked in, almost intimidatingly so, the live music loud as we rounded the sidewalk outside the enclosed patio. Jack welcomed us into the tasting room and suggested we do a vibe check on the patio before deciding where to sit. We peeked outside and it seemed fun in a way we weren't looking for, a bit of a party atmosphere with a live band and a lot of people. We took our seats in the quieter tasting room, where we were able to enjoy the music from a distance while we drank some wine. We both did the house tasting, which came with five pours of Carhartt wines: the 2024 Top Branch, the 2022 Sin Nada, the 2022 Sangiovese, the 2022 Rebel Roan, and the 2020 Northerly. Jack also gave us a taste of the 2021 Graciano. They were all nice wines, but we particularly liked the Sin Nada, the Sangiovese, and the Graciano, and took home two bottles of each, getting one $25 tasting fee waived with each purchase of three bottles. Jack was a great host, and he told us all about the wines and winery as we went along. (He pre-empted our first question, saying that yes, they were the same Carhartts as the Carhartt clothing label, but not the same company. I guess just the classic generational wealth to winemaking pipeline.) It was a helpful introduction to both the Carhartt wines and Los Olivos, and Jack was good company. I said Carhartt was the least impressive of the wineries we visited, but it's also worth noting that it had the lowest price point. Carhartt isn't gunning for Robert Parker ratings. The wines are accessible and tasty, and I have a feeling we'll go through our bottles very fast.

This place has everything you'd hope for in a wine tasting experience: cozy, welcoming atmosphere and everyone is genuinely cheerful from the moment you walk in. The entire staff are warm, attentive, incredibly knowledgeable, and so friendly it feels like you're visiting old friends rather than a tasting room. Even better, they stay open later than many spots in town, making it the perfect place to linger, unwind, and savor the experience just a little longer. Every detail is meticulous, from the beautiful atmosphere in their back patio to the way they guide you through each pour. They take the time to explain the wines without ever making you feel rushed, and their passion shows in every conversation. An experience defined by outstanding service, lovely wines, and a warm, easygoing vibe. And as an added bonus, they're wonderfully dog-friendly -- making it even more welcoming for everyone. Overall, it's hands-down the best place in Los Olivos. It's definitely my go-to whenever I'm in town, and I genuinely look forward to visiting a few times a year. Carhartt Family Wines never disappoints -- it's an experience as wonderful as the wine itself.

I am a huge horror fan so I was beyond excited to check them out over the weekend! The inside and vibe was all I could hope for and more! I loved seeing all of the horror memorabilia, decor and merchandise throughout including the killer Ghostface mask and Halloween pinball machine. My husband ordered a glass of their Cab which he loved and I ordered a Vamperol Spritz - they were even kind enough to make our daughter a mocktail. They even brought her over a Nightmare Before Christmas activity kit to keep busy and we bought a Michael Myers sticker as well as a Nightmare Before Christmas hair clip to take home.
