The view of monsters on the roof!!

Now I'm not a regular here but someone who has been really likes it, where as for me it's ‍. Yes I went while we are all in this crazy pandemic so perhaps that dulled the experience for me or at work it's the fact that the imagery really didn't work for me. The staff were all helpful so there's no issues there. The service was nice and prompt also. The food didn't really grab me don't get me the wrong the portion size was good and the food tasty but nothing I've not experienced before. As I said it could be down to Covid and it not having the spark I was told it did. If I'm up that way again and the world has settled down I will give it another try.

A group of us went for the Valentines Day Dinner 3-course meal. I was very pleased. I feel the portions and quality were on par with the price. Everything tasted great and was a nice reflection of this establishment. I enjoyed a duck pate, 10 ounce aged steak, and plum pudding. (I've put pictures of each up.) Our server was very nice and accommodating. The atmosphere there is very swanky, sort of 1950's theme. They played a fun selection of old fashion love songs. They also have a nice drinks menu in which I had 3! My favourite was the after dinner amaretto coffee with a sweet double cream on top. Great way to end the evening! All in all I recommend Cosy Club for a pleasant evening dinner or even just stopping by for dessert and drinks. I will be back again soon one day!

Visited this place for the first time last night for a drink and was immediately charmed but the decor! Wish I lived here. This place is a lot bigger than I had anticipated and there is a separate area for people who are dining, and for those who are just drinking. The toilets are located pretty much full circle behind the bar that you initially walk in to, meaning you have to walk through the tables of dining customers... This was probably strategic planning because the food smelled great and I was very tempted! I opted for the salted caramel Alexander cocktail which was wonderful - sweet, creamy, and packed a definite punch. My partner's was the Rum Espresso Martini which tasted bland and like watered down coffee. I get the impression the cocktails are a bit hit and miss here, which is a shame considering the price!

Cosy club. FOR DINNER. It's still a hipster speak easy. Great decor. Felt like I had walked into the set of "the beautiful and Damned." Professional staff with their little bow ties. You should go. Again, like the brunch, food was almost perfect. Almost. Tapas menu is good fun. I liked the croquettes. Good hummus. The chorizo chicken was lacklustre - sauce was a bit reserved. For the mains, I had a go of the pork belly and the salmon. Both were really good - I loved the mustard potato mash with the meat, but both salmon and meat were a touch over done. Perhaps this would suit an English palette. Overall a excellent dining experience. Almost exceptional. If you're out with friends, this is a great place.

So enjoyed this quirky beauty. Looks like a spacious bar, an art gallery, and museum and being perched on the second floor of this downtown center, it feels open and airy. My avocado, chicken and romaine salad was fresh and filling. Mates had hamburg, chicken and were quite pleased. Best part was how the restaurant caters to both gluten and gluten-free eaters. Loved having my own gluten-free menu!! Decided to try a gf roll. Heavenly. No sacrifices here.

Cute, quaint, quirky, cosy and homely little bookstore-come-cafe (:…read more It's average opening hours are 11-6 during which time you can grab a slice of cake, tea, coffee etc, have a peruse through some books, and chill on their big comfy sofa! I find a lot of coffee places just don't really want you stay and they have hard, uncomfy furniture to reflect that. But not here! This place often has events that extend its opening hours, too. My favourite is the 'big comfy folk club' which are folk and acoustic sessions hosted on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month. Next one is on 4th March and tickets are only a fiver! Brilliant intimate venue, and the performers usually stick around for a while afterwards which is nice (: OH ALSO, WINE! The big comfy book shop serves alcohol! Live music + book shop + cake + red wine = total winner. See you on the 4th!

I really like The Big Comfy Bookshop!…read more It is a quant used book shop that is family owned. The owner spent over a year compiling books to open his shop, and ever since has kept a good variety of books that are unique to customers, or a popular search result of a used book. There is always fresh coffee, tea options, beer and wine, and some sort of snacks like crisps or cake for sale. Seating is available to hang out with friends for a little while or to start tucking into your future purchase. Also I noticed that live folk music nights and game nights regularly occur here too! Great place!

It was also very inviting as it was a nice sunny day, and they had tables outside. It's a shame as they are for smokers. What about non-smokers who want to enjoy the sun and warm weather outside? Unfortunately, we were also subjected to the smoking. I do not drink coffee for medical reasons, and so settled for the hot chocolate. Here, it is a shame again, as most coffee shops, the "hot" is missing, and often I have to ask for extra hot if ever I go again. It was very well presented, but it also was quite powdery, so not the best hot chocolate that I have tasted. Perhaps, it does coffee better but I shall never know. The decor is nice, clean and relaxing and uncluttered with wooden tables. Friendly service. Closes at 6pm, and they starting packing up the outside tables and chairs around 5.50pm, which suited us, as we were just leaving! They also get another star for very nice and clean, modern and pleasant toilet facilities.

I'm going to mirror Kristin's review here and say the same thing…read more.. I read online how this was the best dessert place in Coventry! But when I went... I didn't experience that at all. There was 1 young lad on staff and 1 older guy outside making some pretty interesting and impressive swirly dessert things out of some sort of liquid that he was squeezing into a vat of oil, I have to say that I was impressed! He seemed to be a PRO at making these desserts that looked similar to a pretzel but orange. I didn't try one but it looked great anyway - I;m just not a fan of fried things... The pictures online didn't mirror the inside at all. There wasn't a huge 'cake fridge' with all manner of cakes and desserts, I counted about 5 cakes that all looked pretty ordinary (sorry!) They did have a good selection of ice cream, but it didn't look like it was a popular item as you can tell when ice cream is fresh and a new tub swapped out every day, etc. Maybe I'm just being a bit too critical? Maybe I was supposed to sit down and order from the menu or something and they make it all from fresh? I don't know... I hope that's how it works anyway. I think going in with high expectations and then seeing, well... not a lot on display, that ruined the experience for me, so even if they brought out the best of the best cake in the World... It still would't have turned me around because my first impression was shattered. The ice cream tasted fine though, not amazing, but better than average.

It is overall a quaint place with a diner setting, leather seating and generous portions great for one or two to share. There was also an outdoor seating area which was good for the current heat or an option of sitting indoors for a cooler atmosphere, many icecream flavours (similar to an Italian gelateria). Spread the word and go there yourself, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
