My husband and I were inspired to start this business because of our son who is autistic. It became very difficult to have parties for him because of his sensory needs and even harder to have parties for his siblings that he could feel comfortable joining. We began looking to hire some local talent for our boy & girl twins birthday party one summer. We did not have much luck finding what we wanted for a reasonable price and we really wanted their party to be special. We ordered some costumes and dressed up as farm animals and they loved it. We put our thoughts together and decided to start a character for hire service of our own and It's been one of the best decisions we have made. We could not be more proud of our services and our products.

It's clear that Ed's Broadway Gift & Costume is ideal for the person seeking a good costume for a party or event. I went to find costumes for some short film projects. They had some decent choices. I can recommend this place. Much better and more meaningful than shopping at a big box Halloween store!

Apparently, this is THE place to rent and buy costumes in Fort Wayne. They've been operating in the city since 1949! It's also the place to buy fake poop, fake barf, fake teeth, fake mustaches, fake hair and fake Spam. (The fake Spam is actually a decoy secret safe.) They also sell lots of silly gifts, corny mugs, cringey t-shirts, ironic greeting cards, and a lot of Marvel things, for some reason. Stoner's has three rooms of "things that you didn't know you needed but can't live without," according to the delightful woman who works here. She literally said that while standing behind the counter, and I immediately and covertly wrote it down in the notes section of my phone because it was so great. This same woman convinced me to try on a dress from the costume section that looked like it had the Eye of Sauron on it and was $3, because she said, "You're so small, you could fit into this costume and wear it for real." I mean, if an older woman who works in a costume shop called Stoner's Funstore says that you're small and would look good in an Eye of Sauron dress that used to be a costume, you try on the dress. Unfortunately, the proportions were all wrong, so I had to put the dress back on the rack. The vibe at Stoner's is cool and laid back, the people who work here are friendly and helpful, and the store is centrally located in downtown Fort Wayne, with lots of parking, which is a rarity for downtown Fort Wayne. This is a good place to visit if you're looking for a silly gift or costume for Halloween, or any time, really.
