Costcutters used to be our favourite place to go back when we were kids. It has definately changed for the better over the years with a post office now included into the mix and a much larger selection of products than before. Obviously the prices aren't brilliant and you'd get much better value for your money at the larger chains but it's still a nice atmosphere to do a bit of grocery shopping in. Being at the heart of the Saffron Lane estate, everybody knows each other and you're always greeted with a friendly smile and chat when you're shopping. The shop is a lot cleaner than it used to be and has really branched out selling magazines and a lot more frozen products than it used to. The only downside is that they have no trollies if you're intending to do a larger shop and I always notice that the bread seems a bit battered everytime I go in. They do however have the most amazing fresh pasties at their fresh produce counter. read more
