Iceland is a haven for students and literally anybody wanting to save a bit of money I have recently decide. Often overshadowed by the price waring of Asda, Sainsburys and Tescos, Iceland chugs along in the background beating them all hands down with its own variety of frozen food. There's nothing tasteless or bad about the products at all. I was amazed when I first shopped here at how little I spent. Only about 6 items in my trolley went over 1.00 and it included all your usual essentials like bread and milk. Iceland lacks a lot of tinned stuff and needs to expand into groceries a bit further to really become a threat to its competitors but the standard of the frozen food both in price and taste is exceptional. You can buy pizzas for dirt cheap prices and they're not those cheap, tasteless ones either but ones that can easily rival any takeaway outlet. The store itself is laid out neatly with tills at both ends. It rarely gets crowded and there's always loads of offers on - in fact more so than a trip round Asda to be perfectly honest. The staff aren't really that helfpul and one or two have been quite unfriendly but its definately the items on sale that keep me going back to Iceland. Their party food range is superb for the Christmas season and they've also opened up a lot of new opportunities for me as I have bought things I couldn';t normally afford for very cheap prices.
