I'm not sure if it's just me, but I bought the Nex Grill from Costco cuz it was on sale for $299 this week. While assembling, I noticed the product may be as catch and dent??? The new product had scratches and welding spots that were mistakes in manufacturing. Even the screw to secure the gas tank was off centre. Anyone noticed this for big ticket items? Staff were nice enough to load the item in vehicle but darn it will be difficult to return a bbq that is slightly defective in manufacturing-Costco should do better QC on their orders. On a funny note, today they had a plant base burger sample served on a bun. The bun was not plant based containing egg and the mayonnaise placed on also had eggs- I dunno if this was a product demo mishap but I'm pretty sure the demo overshadowed the intention to serve plant based options. read more

Typical Costco run, TP, bread, laundry soap and a quick ice cream with my princess!! This place is always busy but the staff on the cash registers move quick and work as a team to get everyone through! Washrooms here are spotless! Walmart should get some cleaning tip from them!! read more

90% of the time me and my wife will buy produce, dairy and meat only from Costco. All there products are great quality and decently priced.

My boyfriend has been telling me about this newest store in Waterloo. He used to visit the Kitchener location, but was thrilled that he can practically walk to it from his home. He might as well just live in the store, since he loves Costco. I finally visited this store after spending a day at the University of Waterloo for work. I drove my manager over to this store. He likes tagging along for the free food samples and my Costco membership. This location is the largest Costco in Canada. You certainly notice that each aisle is wider than most Costco stores. This store is bright and has all items that you'd expect there. There were too many food sample, which disappointed my manager. However, I loved the Popcorner samples so much that I bought a huge bag in sweet heat chili. The snack is amazing! My manager and I share the same love for chocolate croissants. He bought a box of mini chocolate croissants. Staff are cheerful at this store. There were plenty of checkouts available that we didn't have to wait. I suppose that it is a bonus shopping in a town and right after a snowstorm. We had dinner at the food court. It is the only Costco food court that offers wings, which my boyfriend immediately pointed out when he first visited the store. The wings are tasty. You can get dipping sauces for them. They also come in two sizes: 1 pound (individual) or 3 pounds (family). My manager and I also ordered fries with gravy, and hot dogs. Needless to say, we were stuffed! This store also had its own gas station. Gas prices are cheaper in Waterloo. If you need to fill up, do it here. I love this store. I'd come back just for the wings after shopping up a storm. I was at the Waterloo Ontario store, and an employee decided to chat with another that had closed a bathroom to clean. They chatted for over 5 minutes before I interrupted, asking them to chat at another time, as quite a line had formed. The male loudly complained that "we are not allowed to chat anymore, I guess". I said "not to the detriment of your customers, no". I then complained to other staff, who let me know the male was a 3rd party contractor in "garden", and as such there was not much they can do. Does this mean customers should take matters into their own hands when dealing with rude and/or abusive staff? That's too bad - some staff were good or great, the ice cream is large and good, the hot dogs are fantastic and a terrific deal, the tills were fast - the cashier and bagger were both efficient and friendly - but if Costco "can't" maintain order or discipline, all staff will be subject to rough handling from irate customers. Instead of smiling when an associate puts a large set of canoes by the freezers, (because they had no other place to put them), customers may feel they have licence to berate the associate for narrowing of an aisle or placing the items in the first open spot, far from the department it should be placed in. read more

Great store friendly staff the only drawback is their shortage of softener salt after Wednesdays. They are increasing their fuel pumps to 3 pumps per row which will speed up the fueling process. read more

Truly 4.5 stars for Costco. This is one of their newest stores to open and they did not disappoint. There is lots of parking, pedestrian friendly paths to and from and plenty of space inside the store to satisfy every shoppers need. The auto garage can accommodate 5 cars at once and provides both tire and oil changes. The gas bar is neatly placed and no real line ups to worry over. Inside the store is a treasure trove of products and a food court to drool over. (New staff must still have a spring in their step compared to the established locations where they just go through the motions.) Did I mention this place has fried chicken wings!!!! I was like a kid in a candy store when I saw the goods. For 6.99 you get a pound of wings (14 good sized wings and dipping sauce). There is also the family bucket which resembles the KFC bucket of yester-year. Next time I may just need to indulge... I will be coming back when in the area to see if the service changes. read more

3 Departments deserve accolades 1. Tire Centre, While a lot of the staff are young and new, these guys hustle, they are polite and they do their job well, (even if they aren't quick to answer the phone) and they won't accept a tip! 2. Optical, there are at least two exceptional women in this department, one of whom took the time to work backward to determine an error of ommision for a stigmatism correction in my latest prescription renewal (from my optometrist) when my new glasses weren't right.Very diligent! 3. Returns, I buy a lot and seldom keep my receipts. They are fast and efficient and hassle free. Very glad to have this new store in Waterloo, it sets a new standard for Costco service! read more

For some reason, the employees don't feel the need to interact with the customers at all, especially at the cash. The lady who "helped" me today literally threw my package of vitamin water into my cart after I guess I mistakenly put it on the counter for her. I can understand you're tired, but that kind of aggressive behaviour is completely immature. I just wanted some groceries. There was no greeting me, there was no conversation. Then, the lady who checked my receipt payed no attention to me at all, and was yelling at someone behind her in front of me. I have worked in customer service for years, and not once have I behaved in such a way. Honestly, the employees at the Kitchener location are way more polite than here, even though they most likely go through the same issues as the Waterloo employees go through. This behaviour is ridiculous. Every single time I've went to this location, the employees are rude. Do better. read more

This is the newest store in the area, and the largest one. Layout is backwards to the one in Kitchener, which makes it confusing until you get used to it. The store is clean, has the same items as all Costco stores, plus this one has easier access a large parking lot, and a gas station. The gas is always the cheapest in the area. The food bar is very limited but the prices are unbeatable. If you shop for a large family, it is great for small quantities not! You have to know your prices, as not all items are a good price. If you like this type of store, this one is a good choice. read more
