If you've ever shopped at Costco, then you already know why the parking lot is always full--you simply can't beat the value! This Oklahoma City location was incredibly busy during our visit. The parking lot was packed, the checkout lines were long, and it definitely felt like one of the more crowded Costco stores I've visited. I believe there's another location farther north, and if there were a few more throughout the city, it would probably help spread out the crowds. Even with the hustle and bustle, what stood out the most was something I've always loved about Oklahoma City--the people. I'm originally from Oklahoma City, and that genuine Oklahoma charm never gets old. Even while standing in long lines during the summer heat, people were chatting, laughing, and striking up conversations with complete strangers. It's one of those little things that makes waiting feel much shorter. The staff were equally welcoming. From the employees greeting customers at the entrance to the cashiers at checkout, everyone was friendly and engaging. Don't be surprised if they crack a joke or comment on something in your cart that they recommend that kind of personal interaction is refreshing and something I always appreciate. Like most Costco locations, they had plenty of sample stations set up throughout the warehouse, giving shoppers the chance to try products before buying. That's always one of my favorite parts of the Costco experience! Would I recommend this Costco? Absolutely again and again. Just do yourself a favor and, if possible, avoid peak shopping hours or weekends unless you don't mind the crowds. You'll probably have a much more relaxed experience. I was heading to Oklahoma City after a long drive and staying for the night. 10 miles outside the city, my tire pressure light came on. Knowing I had to check it out and fuel up for the next day, I located a Costco by my hotel. Upon fueling up, I looked at my tire and noticed my psgr front tire was real low. I took it to the Costco tire area that has free air. I couldn't get air into the stem, so I knew this was a major problem. I entered the Costco Tire Center and was met by Jason W. Though late evening, he said he could fix it as soon as he open a spot. Costco should be proud of the Jason, as he represents their culture of values, thoughtfulness and kindness well. I love going to Costco for good deals. We went today and we found some good staples we always get and some new items. I like to go in the morning, but we came a little late today and came around 2 PM. The store was a lot busier than in the morning so it was kind of harder to push your card around easily. The lines for the cash registers were a little bit longer wasn't too bad though considering how busy it was. I recently discovered built bars, protein bars, and they are the best thing ever I had to go back this weekend to buy a couple more boxes the price is about $20 for 14 bar box which is much cheaper than Sam's Club and on their website. We always get gas here because this is a for sure way to save money! read more

Today, I stopped by to look around and found something (a gift) took the item to self check out as the lines were out the door. It was packed for a Monday. I really love Costco and the quality products and food that they carry for a fair price. The staff are also really great and are good about clearly communicating when you ask questions. The customer service desk is really great. Costco has a really really great warranties but do be mindful that the Costco visa credit card that Citibank has made some recent adjustments and so if you are looking at making a large purchase and expecting that extra warranty, be sure to check that Citibank new rules and arrangement for that fits your needs . Costco is also really great especially at this location as they have the outside cafeteria and they've recently added kiosks so that you can order quickly which gives more space at the window when picking up your food. Also helps the employees be able to get your food, beverage, dessert, etc to you quicker. read more

Maybe one of my favorite pandemic finds has been the usefulness of re-using the Kirkland clear plastic containers from purchasing mixed nuts, Parmesan cheese, etc...makes for great storage containers in the garage. Small households can take advantage of bulk buying: -boxes of spinach are SO MUCH cheaper here -baby Bella mushrooms (they last a while or freeze them) -peppers -water -TP/papertowels -laundry detergent -fabric softener sheets -eggs -trash bags -bread (use one, freeze one) -disposable masks (they carry black ones!) -hand soap -electric toothbrush replacement heads -meats and fish Their electronics selection has been impressive. Discrimination against disabilities? We were very disappointed this afternoon when we witnessed a customer with an identified service animal get harassed by 3 different employees who all implied that her identified service animal was not a service animal. When the customer spoke with the manager we overheard someone tell her that her disability was not real and not covered. The service animal was marked for seizures, clearly, on its vest. Seizures are covered by the ADA. We reviewed Costco policy online and they allow each of their employees to interrogate customers about their animals. It seems a sad way to treat their guests with disabilities. I appreciate not having a bunch of random animals while I'm shopping for food. But harassing those with clearly marked service animals is disgusting. read more

Since Costco has been in town, I've been dying to go see what the hype is all about. My hubby is from Cali and he's used to Costco vs Sam's. The lot is full of traffic and people so if you have anxiety, definitely isn't the place you want to be. With the busyness outside, of course that translates into the inside. We've been Costco members since 2003, so we were very disappointed not have access to Costco when we moved to Oklahoma City, although our wallets probably appreciated it. We should probably be part of some sort of Costco lovers support group. We can't walk out of there without spending far more than planned. They have great products and great service. We visited one day last week, our first time during the Covid closures, and I was just as impressed as ever. As we walked in, we were offered a cart that had just been wiped down by an employee. They have plexiglass up to attempt to prevent exposure to employees, but you still feel that they're happy to see you there and get the same friendly attitudes despite the visual difference. You can trust the brands they sell and they have an excellent return policy because they stand by the brands/products they put on their shelves. Sadly, there are those who may end up ruining it for those of us that use it as it's intended. The house brand, Kirkland, is fantastic. I have only purchased one item that was terrible. They were the protein bars. I tried both flavors in the box and both were so epically awful that I returned them. The employee agreed, so I felt vindicated in my decision to return something that I'd eaten. You can purchase your cell phones with the major carriers there, which typically comes with additional Costco member perks. If you are looking to purchase some sort of electronics, like AirPods or a camera, look there first! You may pay the same price, but you will get extra useful goodies with the purchase (such as an extra battery). I highly recommend checking out Costco to see if you agree. If you don't, great, leaves more room in the parking lot and inside the store for those of us who love it! read more

Costco (short for Cost Company) is a warehouse based store modeled after that dream you've had of being lost and nervous to ask an adult if you can use the intercom to call your mom. We got a rotisserie chicken, a box set of the Captain Underpants book, and a 600 pack of fiber gummies. It was a little cold inside so I did buy a coat but my wife didn't let me put it on in the store because she would "die of embarrassment" and I didn't want that. It was VERY busy but since a membership is required you know that everyone had at least $60 at one point. That being said, I saw a few people with desperation in their eyes so just be careful. James checked our receipt as we left and said some really nice things about the Colorado sweatshirt I was wearing. He's from there and misses home. I'm glad for this addition to the Memorial and Western area because that's just a few miles from my place. I've already been about 10 times since they opened 2 weeks ago. My husband and I are executive members. If you haven't been to Costco, it's a wholesale store and you have to have a membership to shop here. It's like a Sam's club. Many people say it's better than Sam's and honestly I think they're both the same, because you buy everything in bulk. We already have a membership to Sam's and we plan on keeping both. I do enjoy the benefits of the cash back incentive because that will add up for us. Most of our groceries bill will be from Costco from now on. We enjoy their selection of fruits, bread, and meats. They don't have very many sample stations as I thought. There's only been 2-3 each time I visit and sometimes none. The sales when they first opened were pretty neat. We got $60 back in gift card for signing up for a membership and a bunch of coupons. Our membership was basically paid for halfway. Also, we signed up for the Costco credit card because we are going to use it for all of our groceries, Costco travel, and gas and we want rewards back for all of our spendings. We are a family of three but I'm a huge couponing and money-saving person. I have no doubt we will have many Costco adventures to come in the near future. Fresh fish, beef ribs, steaks, and chicken! Purchasing vacuum packs of meat is the best way to freeze larger quantities, they have this! Huge selection of fresh fruits and vegetables! Bakery items are also top notch. Wine selection is plentiful, with great prices. Self check-out or employee check-out goes smoothly! Do remember to bring your own bags or pick out one of their boxes. Have used the gas station too! It is less expensive than our local competitors but does not have no ethanol. Have noticed that many new items are added monthly, as they send monthly sales via e-mail. About 2 years ago one of our vendors was investigating using our HighFructoseFree icon from our company HighFructoseFree.com on their product that they intended to produce for Costco. At that time I went to Costco and purchased a membership so that I could see the store, packaging and other aspects regarding packaging and display. At that time I was sold an upgraded membership with the understanding that Costco would nail a percentage check back, if the percentage didn't meet the upgrade fee there was to be a refund. Two years down the road I was buying lemons tonight and when I got to the register the membership had expired. I went to the membership counter expecting the unknown. As with past experiences at other retailers small yet important issues to the customer can become stressful and make one want to consume some foods with High Fructose Corn Syrup. Tonight I was pleasantly surprised, the experience was simple, satisfying and oddly joyful. Carmen began the process in a friendly and quick manner, even doing so while handling some side issues with refunds or whatever yet not making me wait at all. I had indicated that I was not in a hurry and she replied that this was important and had called the manager to handle the management portion of the process. Chaly quickly arrived with a welcoming smile and quickly worked her magic and when the process was complete in only a few moments the refund was issued for the difference that was required. I was able to take my standard membership to the register and purchase the lemons. Since we don't purchase enough lemons to make a refund check advantageous only a standard membership is required. Our mission is for shoppers to be able to be able to readily identify products that do not contain High Fructose Corn Syrup. This Is vital to the health of America and worldwide. I love Costco, but I never knew I could get price adjustments within 30 days when we first joined. We were at Costco today (5/30), and I told my husband we could get a $13.49 refund for the May 19 - June 13 savings flyer we get in the mail. Unfortunately, the rude & argumentative lady in Customer Service told me I was past 30 days. My 2 receipts were dated 4/22 & 4/27. I just walked away shaking my head. Maybe, I should start spending less money at Costco and/or waiting till something goes on sale before I buy it. So, be aware of when sales start, and price adjustments within 30 days are based on date of purchase. Of course, you could not be eligible if the "within 30 days" is before the sale starts. Costco, your policy sucks!!! A funny story about Costco's refund policy.... When we lived in Washington State, the radio station I listened to was talking about Costco takes anything back. Costco is just doing everything right. From senior operating hours to priority access for healthcare workers and first responders, and they were the first on the scene to make masks a requirement. When I took my parents recently, as we walked up, one person is sanitizing carts while another is passing out clean carts. Compare this to Sam's recently, where there were not even any wipes available (good thing I carry them in my purse). I also just realized they have closed some departments to make more room for social distancing. I don't know how much money they stand to lose doing that, but it definitely makes a difference when you're in the store. I also just have so many things I love from here. Kirkland is my go to for charcuterie board accoutrements, all the specialty food items I need for anti-inflammatory cooking and meal prep, and kid lunches. I can never believe how affordable items like almond butter are here, where you can get two big jars for the same amount as a small jar at the grocery store. They also have an awesome selection of books that are always changing, and don't buy a new TV without checking the price at Costco. We love our Frame TV and the price was several hundred dollars less than anywhere else we looked. read more
