I don't go to the Costco in Stockton. The parking lot is horrible, too many cars and not enough space. The gas stations lines are always way too long. I felt like my life was in danger every time I walked from the parking lot to the store entrance, people drive through there without a care in the world. Wednesday, May 8, 2022 I am a weekly shopper at Costco Lodi. I typically am in at opening, and out by 10. The employees are always pleasant, seemingly in a good mood, and willing to help. This morning, I said to the lady who was "packaging the roasted chickens", "thanks for coming to work and doing this it's much appreciated" .... she immediately responded with, smiling, "it's my pleasure, and thank you for being a loyal COSTCO member." this did not seem scripted, it felt genuine... After losing my Costco card, I went in to get it replaced at the return's counter. After standing in one of two lines for a good 20 minutes, just as it became my turn, the associate decides there's only going to be one line. I'm left standing there for several more minutes as she helps a customer from the other line. I walk around to the other side where a group of associates are literally just hanging out and ask one of them if I can just get a new card. "You have to get in (points to return's line) that line." Nope. Not doing that again. Okay, all I want to do is get my credit card refund check cashed before it expires. I know that the cashiers can do this so I get in one of those lines. Once it's my turn he explains that I have to buy something to get my refund check. I know this isn't true. I've cashed all my credit card refund checks in the past without anyone making any phone calls or "just this one time" exceptions. Then he says he can't help me because I don't have a card. Now I'm pissed. Luckily, whoever was in charge of that guy manages to *somehow* get my refund without a card and without me having to purchase something. But Costco's final "Fuck you" was passing two lines at the return counter. Two associates were helping people in both lines. read more

Bought a Samsung 55" TV from Costco. Purchased the extended warrantee. Turned on the TV and the left half of the screen was blacked out. TRIED to file a claim with the Allstate warrantee people. This process is totally a joke. Between unanswered phone calls and crazy instructions online, I am convinced they purposely want to discourage you and make you give up. Well, they don't know me very well. I took my purchase documentation and drove to Costco and talked with the store manager. Lo and behold, a sympathic ear. He restored my faith in people. Gave me a store credit for the full purchase price of my broken TV and I bought another one on the spot. Kudos to Josh PS. Smart watches - return policy only 90 days regardless of how much you pay for it! Broke after 1+ year - manager refused to accept return. Originally ordered it online so he said try returning it online - they might accept it which oddly enough they did. Manager says warehouse and online are two separate entities!? Asked if Costco Citicard extends warranty - NOPE!! Costco starting to feel like every other place therefore offering no advantages for it's paid members. Rice, bread, frozen vegetables, very used vacuums, etc can be returned no problem!! But not $300 smart watch. That is a lot of money for my family to throw away! read more

Corbin was very rude to my cousin, sister and myself on our visit to this costco. We did some personal shopping, as well as shopped for refreshments and snacks for our grandma's funeral - so there were multiple transactions on the conveyor belt and cart. Before he even scanned my membership, Corbin's facial read as annoyed and his tone was rude, even a bit accusatory. No good morning or greeting, he just looked at our stuff and asked if it was going to be together or separate. Mind you, we each have OUR OWN memberships and have spent thousands at costco. I said there is more than one transaction after mine. He kept pushing the question of accounts and transactions after I said we each have our own memberships! After my stuff was done, Corbin continued to ask in an unkind tone about accounts and transactions. My sister actually ended up not having her physical card on her, but Corbin was already speaking to us like we were trying to be sneaky and do a whole bunch of transactions under one account prior to finding that out! I firmly said we each have memberships but my sister doesn't have her physical card, then all of a sudden he wanted to speak nicely and finally explain why he was asking. sure, guy. Outside of the crazy lines during their busy hours, I love Costco.. If you are an avid sushi eater, You will be disappointed. I know for us.. We eat sushi out at least twice a week. The texture of the rice is off-putting. It's refrigerated sushi rice so what can one expect. The color and texture of the fish on one of the rolls looks strange.. Tastes "ok" but again.. Normally I love this Costco, but today I almost wished I had gone to the Stockton one instead. Certain staff really need more training. I had to wait at least 10 minutes in line because a cashier decided to have a private conversation with the customer in front of me. This review is for the food court. My wife and I generally love coming to Costco for pretty much everything. When we are hungry we usually a quick stop at the food court before we start our shopping trip. I haven't had too many bad experiences with the old court, but today was a lot different. My wife ordered her usual chicken bake and when we was about halfway through she noticed that the dough was still raw on the inside. I took it up to the counter and was a little shocked about their response. They mentioned it's funny I noticed the issue because it's how they were asked to make them. They stated that they take out the chicken bakes a little earlier since the "elderly population" doesn't like them too crispy. I'm fairly certain they would prefer it crispy over salmonella. I didn't even want a refund at the time since I thought it was a one off occurrence, but this escalated to more of a food safety issue. Unfortunately they didn't seem to care that much or they are under pressure from upper management. Be careful what you eat and start questioning any odd symptoms you get after eating here! read more

I did not walk away at 9:04am from Costco today feeling like a valued member. Cashier Corbin P made an offhand comment about the high expense of the brand of dog food I was buying for my dog, which cause me to have to justify my purchase to Corbin P. But really, what difference does my consumer choice make to him? I am supporting him with my customer loyalty and purchases. I shop at Costco and retain membership with the understanding that I am getting a good deal because I am a consuming member of the Costco company, or at least I thought I did. My dog food choice and the expense of it is none of Corbin's business about. If anything Corbin P. should've said something like "Wow! This is expensive! Here is another store you can buy the dog food so you can save more money on your purchase." Maybe even advocating in my behalf for Costco to lower the cost of the $63.99 "Blue Dogfood" #1344105. Please let Corbin P. know that he should be helping customers feel good about their purchases, not making them feel that they should question them. Live in rural area and visit different Costcos, depending on where we need to be. Typically, Rancho Cordova, Folsom and Lodi. The Lodi location is absolute favorite. Clean, friendly and doesn't run out of staples we have come to depend on and enjoy. The RC store tends to not carry some of the nicer items and staples or they run out. All Costco trips are anywhere from 45-mins to an hour plus drive for us--so when they are out of or flat out don't carry something we need, it is a major big deal. We do try to be efficient with our drive-time and gas, so we plan around other to-dos or family visits. We also bring ice chest and cooler bags for the long, hot drive home. Lodi always has what we need and the workers are all fast, efficient and very friendly! Restrooms clean. Lodi is also surrounded by a few other convenient stores to make our trip even more efficient. Also located near some good wineries for the trip home, lol. The lure of a nice snack and nice glass of wine after the shopping excursion, makes the whole trip (hate shopping) more palatable. Reynolds Ranch Pkwy is our fav. Nothing wrong with Folsom, but we do not get out that way as often, so for us--not as convenient due to where we live in the foothills, east of Lodi. We do make it a point to stop by Folsom, if we are in the area and need a Costco visit. We usually do a Costco visit at least once a month to stock up on things. I love that I got a great deal on my tires, however, they need to get an Asst. at the tire dept. desk to man the phone calls and call the customers when their car is ready. These guys are busy doing tire installations. They don't have someone at the front desk (at times) until there are a few people in line. I waited almost 10 min behind a few people before a tire tech came out from the garage! Costco seems to take pride in their employees, pays them well, now they need to take an interest in their tire customers! They do enough business in this tire dept to afford to hire one more person for ringing up people and quickly calling out to advise their car is waiting for them. First funny story..purchased an item that went on sale. For $80 I think I will see what I can do. Check with customer service, can you credit me the difference, no, told to bring item back and repurchase. Okay walked over and bought another one but decided to return it on the original receipt. No difference in the item just easier. Oh no, said they wouldn't return it because they saw me buy it and knew I wasn't returning the correct one. Tried to reason with them, no luck. Manager came over and told me what I should have done was just go to the desk and they would refund the difference. Wish I would have thought of that...oh wait...she said doing what I did messes up their inventory. Okay now what..they ended up processing the return and gave me my money back along with a heaping pile of attitude. Next funny story..walked past person at exit on the way to customer service desk. She grouches and asked if I had a Costco card. Without breaking stride I replied "yes" and kept moving. So she is chasing me and yelling at me, sir-sir, I had longer legs so she had a hard time keeping up. She finally caught up when I got to the desk and stopped. Continued to yell at me and told me in her most irritated voice that she had ask if I had a Costco card. I reminded her that I had told her I did but thanks for checking in a second time. She said I didn't show it to her when she asked. I reminded her that she only asked if I had a card and did not request to see it. Now she demands to see the card. I ask her to say please, didn't want to but she did. I showed her the card and she went away. So now I am standing in a crowd of stunned customers and a CS person who can't stop apologizing for the way I was treated. She asked if she could bring in the manager to do a complaint. I said no, I was intentionally being a d**k because of her attitude at the door and the way she asked. Ask nice and you will usually get a nice response. We all had a good laugh at her expense. Maybe she was just having a bad day. These are just a couple of chucklehead employees and not representative of the entire store. Most of the employees are friendly and helpful. There is a fellow by the door named Andre, greets you, makes you feel welcome, let's you know what good stuff they have today and will answer any questions. I have had other employees go to great lengths to help look up or find something or help load a heavy item like a safe. Their tire shop is I think the only place in town where you can get nitrogen. This is our closest Costco but it is still 1.5 hours from home. For that reason I placed a phone call to check if a TV was in stock before driving down to shop. I was pleasantly surprised to speak with a Costco Associate who was quite knowledgeable and spent sufficient time answering my questions. We thought we knew what we wanted until we got to the store the next day...the TV aisles can be overwhelming! Jaime, a Costco employee, was nearby and could see our need for help. He spent a great deal of time explaining the differences in brand and specs. He was professional and didn't try to over sell. But in the end Mr. S decided to purchase a more expensive set than we had previously considered. I have never felt so racially profiled before. I went to go in line as my mom went to get stuff she forgot. The man asked to see my card as i pulled it out to scan it. He then says i can't scan my items until my mom comes and i can just wait there. As i'm waiting there there's a bunch of other people walking up and scanning there stuff and he just stands there staring at me. My mom shows up he starts scanning my items. I told him it's fine and i don't need any help he proceeds to scan my items. It was not until i started grabbing my items and scanning them myself and told him for the second time i didn't need help. I've been going to this Costco for over 20 years. The lines look long and chaotic but it's literally a minute or two of wait time. Employees are always helpful. Return policy is simple. Costco can never go wrong. Grateful to be a member. Wish there was a limit sign of how many products we are allowed in the self check out. We didn't see a sign several months ago, so as we were scanning the guy said 16 is the most we were allowed to have, and next time not use it. We had 20. I didn't see the sign I tried looking for it. Re: optical dept. I called and asked if they took my vision insurance, they explained the Dr. And Costco Optical were two different entities and that they both took my insurance. The Dr. Doing exam was great. The two people working at the Glasses area were the most rude, patronizing, misleading people I ever came across. I kept asking what my insurance covered, I kept getting the runaround. Needless to say at the end of the nightmare the salesperson finally told the truth we are not in your insurance's network. The Lodi Costco remains one of the better stores in the region. This location is pretty new with an indoor food court and gas station. It is part of the large retail complex near Harney Lane and Highway 99 on the southern end of Lodi. Costco typically stocks the same items across the chain, however some stores have unique options. The Lodi Costco stocks local wine and a bit more garden inventory than others, likely due to the more rural location. The food court and gas station are very convenient when visiting the local wineries. Who doesn't pair hot dogs with Zinfandel? It is difficult to recommend driving here from Elk Grove or Sacramento unless you have a reason, but this location is close enough to Stockton to justify the drive. Parking is easy, and it is not always super crowded. Drop by, it is that nice. read more
