Stopped at the Costco gas station in Tempe and yeah, it's pretty much the classic Costco experience. You're there for one reason. The price. And it delivers. It's almost always a little cheaper than anywhere else nearby, enough that you feel like it's worth the stop. But you pay for it in time. This place gets packed. Not occasionally. Consistently. You pull in and immediately have to pick a lane and commit. There's a bit of strategy to it. You're watching cars, guessing who's about to leave, inching forward like everyone else. That said, it runs smoother than you'd think. People generally know what they're doing. Once a pump opens, things move. No one's hanging around too long, and the whole line sort of breathes forward in waves. Pumps are clean and everything works without a hassle. Tap your card, fuel up, done. No surprises, which is exactly what you want. Getting out can be a little annoying depending on how crowded it is. It's not chaos, just a bit tight and awkward when everyone's trying to leave at the same time. Four stars because it does its job really well, you just have to be willing to deal with the crowd. It's getting self service gas so it is what it is. They are always busy but if you go at the right time it's not that bad. The pumps always work, unlike so many places. The price is cheaper than ANYWHERE else. And the gas seems to be good quality, like I never have any issues with it. I wish they offered diesel but it's ok that they don't. Like I said, stop by a little later in the evening and you will get served quicker because not a lot of people go later in the day. read more

It's another Costco Gas Station guys! This one moved pretty quickly but only when you catch it at the right time. If you come during rush hour, good luck. This one doesn't have a lot of pumps, maybe 10 total and only 2 per lane. Maybe that's their way of keeping it AZ and not CA. If that's the case, then I'm all for it, lol. Prices fluctuate as usual, but right now, Big Bertha is doing okay. She doesn't hurt my wallet too much these days, which I'm thankful for. Lil Stella back in CA gets her fill ups too, but even she's breaking the bank for me out there! I usually don't go anywhere else for gas because Costco is the lowest anywhere. I would even dare to say getting a membership pays for itself even if you only bought gas!! Lol Dooooo it!! read more

My eldest daughter and I were on our way out of Scottsdale, AZ. We needed to fill up gas before heading home. We had a 6+ hours drive home. We located a Costco gas station nearby and so here we are. Lines are usually long regardless of which Costco you go to unless you're there at low peak times. Line wasn't too bad when we were here which is a good thing. Spent maybe 10 minutes from start to finish. I am so glad they added back the trash cans. Thank you! Costco gas has one of the cheapest gas prices. Some people probably won't wait for the cheaper gas prices and that's okay. I don't mind waiting. Patience is virtue. Thank you Costco for offering gas at affordable prices! read more

Be READY!! * Don't pull up and sit in your car searching for your card * TAP your card, Select Regular or Priemum & Get Started, it's not a buffet!!!! * If you don't need a receipt, move on, save a tree, don't wait !!! * 30sec ~1 min rule for the 3rd person in line... That's how long one will wait for the 2nd person to get done, if not, they are swinging around you to the 1st pump & don't care if you can't maneuver between cars to get out!! * Don't start a new conversation with the person across from you who started pumping after you!!! * After you pump your gas... I only had to wait for 2 cars ahead of me to finish pumping their gas, which is an absolute shocker given it was a Sunday evening. But overall, it has been a decent experience for filling up the tank. Even the costco attendant was emptying the trash and keeping the place tidy. read more

Sitting here in line with a bunch of cars and the gas did not open on schedule. Poor service as many people are waiting in line. Strongly recommend Costco starts treating its customers better. We have other options down the street like Sam's Club. There is no service here on schedule so this make it poor value. read more

While I dislike waiting in line to get gas, Costco continues to have the lowest price per gallon. I've learned to allow extra time in my weekly fill-up routine to avoid the rising prices at other stations. The lines at this location move pretty well. If you have a cost I card no reason you shouldn't go here . Much cheaper than other regular stations and usually moves pretty quick.
