1.22.26: I frequent this Costco anywhere from 1-3x monthly for groceries as we live 45 minutes away out in the country. Today I'm reviewing Costco's Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke, which I've bought countless times in the past and even on a regular when I lived in Reno. What I love about Costco's Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke is that it's consistently fresh every time! I've never had a bad batch, spoiled batch, nor a fishy smelling batch ever. The taste and season is consistent and can be paired with many different dishes. For people who steer away from it because it says wasabi, have no fear, I assure you it's not spicy hot like you imagine wasabi to be. My favorite is to have it with some plain ol jasmine rice--one of my staple meals for protein as I'm a pescatarian and meal prep time is pretty much non existent besides cooking of the rice. It's fast and easy and a great value for some quality tuna. read more

There's nothing not to love about this Costco (okay, maybe one thing). It's a good size. They have a good selection of things. The people who work here are friendly and helpful. The parking lot isn't a total disaster. You can (almost) always find a good place to park. It's never too crowded. And you do get tremendous value when you buy in bulk. (That's what they say right?) The only thing that this Costco could do to improve is to offer sushi. Costco sushi is one of our favorites and this location doesn't have it. But other than that, this Costco is great. read more

Costco's vanilla sundae has definitely changed in the last couple weeks -- and not for the better. It used to be rich, creamy white soft serve. Now it's yellowish, icy, and clearly watered down. Huge downgrade to what used to be one of the best food court items. I politely asked about it and was told nothing changed, but the difference is obvious. Signed up for a Costco credit card through Citibank, the process involves getting a paper voucher to use during your visit that day, and then awaiting for actual card in snail mail. What they don't tell you is that they cancel the original membership, your new card serves as the membership card as well. USPS bounced the delivery back twice, so didn't have physical card for 6 weeks! And didn't have access to the store for 6 weeks! We were planning a camping trip, intending to use this card on the road, talked to Melissa in person at Costco membership, who informed me if I save all my receipts, she promised to transfer the funds from my other card to Costco to get reward credit. Did exactly as she told me, only to find out on the busiest and hottest day of the season, that there was nothing she could do. She spoke with such confidence, I assumed she was the supervisor. Lo and behold, Kim was the supervisor next to her, coming back with attitude, going to her manager with the promise to cover the gas receipts only and pay for membership for next year in the fall. After spending 30 minutes of my valuable time, she came back and said she could do nothing, stonewalling me into submission, as if Costco is an absolute necessity to the human race. As I was waiting, I watched the parade of consumers exiting, and was reminded of the cattle yards in Fort Worth, Texas during the beef boom. At least that time gave me time to adjust my perspective, realizing that, just like coffee, and alcohol, and opioid abuse runs rampant, this is also another form of substance abuse. I'm calling out to you, my peeps! Wean yourself, BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE! Needless to say, I have to submit to the powers that be at this hallowed institution, but only until I pay off the card, and renounce my membership. Based on dozens of successful shopping missions...... Gas pumps 5 stars for the number of lanes. One thing you will notice is that a Washington customer will take their time after filling their gas tank....IDAHO customers will get in their car and leave quickly so that the next customer can pump gas. That's called politeness. Parking lot....watch out for speeding Washington license plate drivers. Oh, they are also the ones who will leave their cart next to the parking space they exit.....Idaho residents always return their cart to the designated cart area. Get your steps in, one two, one two. Shopping carts.....Washington kids will be placed into their cart, Idaho kids walk and help the parents shop. 5 stars for cleanliness of this store, inventory and most of the fresh food. 4 stars for food not consistently placed in the correct refrigerated areas; I bought a three pack of cucumbers. They went rotten in about three days. I shopped and saw they were stacked near the lemons. I mentioned to an employee they used to be in the refrigerator section. He looked me straight in the eye and lied...telling me they return them to the refrigerator area at night. I don't buy them anymore there. "Fresh" salmon. Twice I bought and stunk so bad when I brought home. I brought it back but was declined on the return. So.......here's what I think is going on. Their salmon is sometimes double packed or single. Mostly double. I think they take out the salmon when it hasn't been moving and double pack it. We have bought salmon once a week for DECADES at our local Costco where we've lived. We no longer buy our salmon here. Chicken....sometimes not very fresh. Looks yellow or smells. 3 stars customer service. I suggest only older cashier aisles or self check. As for other reviews regarding the management....no, they don't care. Just buy your stuff, gas up and enjoy the price savings. 3 stars on exit. I'll place items in view to make it easy for employees to verify items I purchased. It can be four, or nine items...the employee will look,....and look, step around cart, count, then count, one, two, three ok four items...thanks. I just look in astonishment. It's funny. I don't know if I'm being targeted because I look young(I'm 31) or what but it doesn't seem to fail that any old white women just has to start a problem with me. Today (Deana F) telling us that my boyfriend of 6 years can't pay for our groceries because his face isn't on the card, despite me being right there. This is the Costco. Feel free to body check snooty CDA shoppers right TF out of your way as you browse the aisles, they just make impotent little snorting noises and take it out on their housekeepers later. Relatively less busy than other CostCos even during peak times; they seem to staff enough cashiers to handle most any typical store traffic. Food Court turnaround is wonderful. Staff seem to enjoy their lives and are thus relatively to actually helpful. read more

TIRE CENTER PRODUCTS: I appreciate the self service tire inflation station SERVICE: very helpful I went to the self service tire inflation station b/c my trailer tire was low. When I arrive the tire was off the bead. The guys working at the tire center were great and spent a bit of effort to get the tie back on the rim and re-inflated!! read more

Mike in the tire center is a rare breed. We were traveling to drop off our oldest at college and ended up with a flat. After panic set in and after finding out that no one in the area had our size tire, we found Costco and Mike. He was professional, courteous, understanding and a miracle worker, got us back on the road. When I said thanks, he simply said "helping people is what I love". Thank you Mike!!! read more

This Costco location needs some serious customer service skill training for their employees. But as with most locations you pay a membership fee to be treated like crap. Maybe it's just the area because some of the customers may be people visiting the area and the locals who work there never get out much to see the rest of the world and how to treat other humans. As with most places we visit we will seek out a Walmart and a Costco. That way we can visualize the demographics of the area and see where the locals shop and see where the snobs shop. read more

Bought case of glass bottled Starbucks Frappuccino. Sign clearly said 12 bottles for $15.99. Noticed on receipt as leaving we were charged $21.99. Spoke with employees. Who first brought back mocha POWDER. Obviously didn't listen. They went to do price check on bottled Starbucks. Came back with photo of sign of $21.99. My mistake not going back with the employee. We definitely know she lied. We had sat in the Costco aisle discussing the price per bottle and we definitely read the sign correctly. We came in to pick up my partner's birthday cake (his favorite is the tuxedo cake) and noticed many decorated for the holiday season. I brought a blank one up to the bakery and asked if there was a way to put "happy birthday" on it. Full Size Bed Acquired For $399 SITREP And of course SALES TAX, but that goes without saying no matter where you're at (unless Oregon?). THE SETUP But that was the dealio for us. We got to Idaho after U-Haul trucking up a load of furniture from California (going along Interstate 15) - including a really nice full-size bed frame to put in a guest room at the ranch. So 24 hours later, after all the other furniture and boxes were finally unload, in their sort of end destinations, we took the U-Haul (while we still had it) up to Coeur d'Alene and zoned in on Costco for a full size-bed. OPTIONS There were actually several options of bed sizes and price ranges. * Full Beds - from $399-$599 * Queen Beds - from $499-$799; and, * King Beds - from $699-$999 I checked out their basic full bed and found it to be quite comfortable as is (a helluva lot more comfortable than my bed back in Sacramento, just say). NO CREDIT CARDS Unfortunately, I think it's still a detriment to this Costco to not permit purchases with credit cards. THE LOWDOWN After grabbing a polish dog & soda for $1.50 in the food court, we were on our way with our new full bed! read more

I purchased AirPod pros 2 days ago at a Costco in Washington and was ecstatic about my new toy. Love these AirPod Pros. However, last night while in a drive through in Idaho, I must have accidentally dropped one earpiece out of my truck, and it got crushed. I found it this morning. I was sick. I went to Costco in Coeur D'Alene on East Neider Ave to purchase new ones. While in the store, I was helped by Tiffany. Conversation led to me sharing my crushed AirPod earpieces story and she encouraged me to go to costumer service to see if they would exchange them. I had my doubts but if I could be saved from dumping another $250, I'd be great full. Well, after talking to Sonja and Cosmo, I was saved from having to spend that $250. Very disappointing experience here. We live in our RV, we're passing through town, and pulled up right before 10am to go shopping here. Parking always takes up 5 spots with our rig which is why we showed up before opening. Anyways, while my husband was in the store, I was harassed by 3 different staff members asking me: "when I got there?" "When I would be leaving?" And they were lecturing me about how I was taking up multiple spots, their lot was small, how they wanted me to leave, bla bla bla. Just rude harassment that was totally unnecessary. IM A PAYING CUSTOMER, leave me alone while I'm spending money at your establishment! This is your typical warehouse type outlet where you can find what you need in bulk. From food products, alcohol, electronics, home items, auto, clothing, pet, business etc. They also have a food court with awesome prices on pizza, hotdogs, ice cream and snacks. There is usually food samples throughout the store and at decent portion sizes. This place is usually pretty clean and organized and the employees are friendly and helpful. There is a tire center here and a gas center outside the building but in order to get gas you have to be a member. There is a yearly membership to shop here and different tier levels that will reward you with cash back in your purchases. They also have services that include stuff for your house, travel, purchasing an automobile and other stuff that you might not know about. I love this place and think the deal they provide to the consumer is awesome. read more

The only Costco around, Its a ZOO & awful tight parking lot right off the bat and its always full of cars so plan on walking a long ways from your car. The employees at the reg are nice, but can never find but a few on the sales floor to help you & its the Best place to get all the FREE food samples in town & plenty of them! prices are good on most items at Costco, but the bakery EXPIRATION dates are awful on the breads (SO LOOK AT THEM THE NEXT TIME YOUR THEIR) they are only good for a day or two then it goes moldy after you get it home unless you keep it in the fridge. the check out lines go pretty fast & the food court is always buzzy!!! read more

Rant ahead!!! Shane McCall and I went to Costco Coeur d Alene ID today. We get up to the checkout and there was the normal cashier and box person. Our cart was beyond full! The box gal unloads some of our items and then instructs us to finish unloading the cart onto the belt. We both proceeded to do as instructed. Obviously we were not going fast enough for them because all of a sudden the box gal comes and literally starts throwing my groceries onto the belt. She is just tossing stuff into boxes, paying no mind to produce, bread or anything that could squished. The final straw for me was my bag of avocados, she tossed them to the corner and proceeded to toss meat and other items on top of them, I stepped up, removed them and handed them to Shane so they didn't get totally smashed and bruised. Mind you there was not another word from her or the cashier the entire time ( simply instructions to put everything on the belt) no other words were exchanged. They were RUDE! We paid our bill $749. I was still fuming. At the door when we were done getting our receipt verified, we asked to speak to the manager. We were then told to step to the side and wait, I took the cart outside to wait because as people went by we got strange looks for standing there. While Shane was standing there waiting, an employee from the membership desk actually came over and asked the employee "if everything was ok, did she need to call for help!?" Why!!! Neither of us EVER raised our voice or anything? Once the manager arrived and heard our complaint of the rudeness, the aggressive tossing of groceries, etc. his first question was, "were you wearing your mask properly!?" ( Which we were) he never looked at our receipt, he never asked what lane we checked out in. He was smug and didn't care, it was very obvious the way he interacted that he didn't care. Now I have to wonder, I know Costco is a Liberal owned Corporation. It wasn't that we were treated poorly by 1 employee, but 4 of them. I have to ask if Shane hadn't had his Trump hat on would we have been treated differently? I don't think it is wrong to expect professionalism from the retailers we shop at, we were kind to every person we encountered while in the store. Once we got in the car I called back to speak to the manager to give him the names of the cashier and box person so he could address my complaint with them, he was to busy to come to the phone, the assistant manager answered and once he heard the brief rundown he confirmed that it couldn't be properly addressed without knowing which lane we were in. Which confirmed, the manger didn't care and had no intention of even addressing the complaint. I DO NOT wear a mask generally, the only time I have worn one is at times like today, it is their requirement and I needed to shop there so I followed their rules. What happened to courtesy? What happened to customer service, what happen to treating your customers kindly? #Costco Coeur d Alene ID had THE WORSE customer service EVER. Their manager confirmed that Leadership attitude is reflected in the employees they supervise because at this store they suck!! #costco read more

Worst Costco I've ever been to. The parking lot is a joke. Too small and too busy. You have to practically fight people for a table at the food court. There's no coffee grinder. I cannot say enough about the Hearing Aid center. The people there are excellent about their knowledge of my hearing problem and got me an excellent aid. The follow ups are unbelievable friendly and will clean and replace the ear piece in a matter of minutes. They also call me by my first name when I enter. Megan has been my specialist and knows me. What can one add to a Costco review? Almost every store is organized in a similar fashion. This store is no exception. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon when it was at its busiest. Although we had to dodge a few carts, we were able to navigate the store and find what we wanted quickly. When we arrived at the checkout area there were enough clerks to move us forward with almost no wait. The food line was long but there was room for everyone to sit and eat and not feel rushed. The gas pumps were almost all being used but we were able to drive up to an empty pump, probably because gas was only a couple of cents cheaper than the surrounding stations. Currently $2.20 on 5/29/16. You can still use your American Express card here until June 19, 2016. read more

Location and ease of access Cleanliness How crowded it is, and how long you stand in line How friendly the help is Product stock These 5 items can make a 5 star Costco or a 2 star Costco, it would be really hard to have a 1 star in my opinion. Having lived in Bakersfield Ca. for most of my adult life, I have been to the 3 surrounding Cosco stores many times. Let me tell you, the main one in Bakersfield is dreadful in every way. Especially in being over populated and horrible ease of access. The CDA Costco is great, it has positive marks on all five of my bullet points. I will also add that the staff is super friendly. If I could have one request it would be that they stock the Kirkland Signature trash compactor bags! Cant have it all I guess, haha. read more
