Went to Costco especially to buy a red velvet cake for a party. Fortunately there was one left in stock. The shopping trip was worth the effort, the cake was moist and soft whilst the cream cheese was not sickly sweet and tasted better than those that I have tried in restaurants and specialist cake shops. The cakes at Costco are freshly baked in store daily and very good value, many people have talked about the delicious huge birthday cakes made to order for only £20. Costco is a good place for stocking up to cater for parties due to the large portions and high quality eg. Sushi platters, fresh pizzas, marinaded meat and seafood for barbecues. The annual membership is definitely worthwhile even if you don't shop there frequently. read more

Avoid Costco Online!!! Like the plague. We purchased online in early May. Goods were separated into two lots. Lot 1 returned to local Costco no problem refund. Lot 2 returned to Costco Warehouse and it has been phone call after phone call and the craziest stories. Latest being they need to follow up with their supplier before refunding me. COSTCO tire center-Enfield CT I am writing to post my disappointment with a recent experience at your tire service center. I purchased tires for my Jeep at Costco with the understanding that while the pricing is typically at full retail, the added value comes from Costco's reputation for exceptional service, professionalism, and customer support. Unfortunately, my experience on this visit did not reflect those standards. I had a 5:30 PM appointment for a tire rotation and balance. I arrived 10 minutes early and was told I would receive a call when the work was complete in about an hour. . After waiting over an hour without any update, I returned to the counter at 6:40 PM to check on the status of my vehicle. I was met with a dismissive attitude and informed--rather defensively--that only one mechanic was working and he was doing the best he could. I finally received my vehicle at 7:15 PM, nearly two hours after my scheduled appointment time. When I spoke with management, I was told the delay was due to staffing issues and I was expected to be understanding of the one man team's stress and workload. While I empathize with any staffing challenges, I believe it is not the customer's responsibility to bear the burden of internal operational issues. The expectation when booking an appointment--especially with a reputable company like Costco--is that the agreed-upon time will be respected and service delivered professionally. This experience has led me to question whether there is any remaining value in purchasing tires through Costco. If I am paying full price but receiving substandard service, consumers might as well shop around for the best deal elsewhere. I hope you take this feedback seriously and take steps to ensure other customers don't face similar frustrations. Best place ever to go shopping. You can never go to Costco and go out with the pizza or hot dog and coke. The pastry and cakes are a must.

That's right suckers... COSTCO! Membership is a bit different here -- if you're not in an approved and credited service sector you can't get a card. However for us lucky Americans who already have cards (even if they've been expired for 2 years), they can renew your membership for £25/year, and throw in an extra card for only £14/year. Once you've sorted that, the store is identical. Seriously. From the layout to the products to the tire station (tyres, rather) to the opticians to the samples to the photo processing & pick-up to the £1.50 soda + hot dog deal at the café. They even had that nasty soft serve ice cream. That's right, I said it. It's nasty. Sure they have less American products (sniff sniff, no mega-packs of Luna Bars), but they've thrown in some great UK additions (fine... I'll get the 500 Jaffa Cakes instead), so there's really nothing to winge about, since you're still getting eleventy billion of whatever you needed for cheap. Costco, we've both come a long way from our old Kirkland 'hood, now haven't we? read more

I was so excited to hear that there was a Costco in North London. For those of you who haven't been, Costco is a members only (don't worry it's not that exclusive) membership warehouse where you buy in bulk. That's right instead of 4 rolls of toliet paper, you get 40. Instead of 1 liter of milk, you get 8. You get the idea. Costco is great because the prices are excellent value for what you get, quality is very high, and they carry the most diverse range of merchandise. You want a fancy £2000 designer watch, a 40" LED TV, or a 40 pack of toliet paper, costco has it. Prices are on par (if not cheaper) than what you would expect at amazon.co.uk The liquor and wine selection in particular is fantastic. Great values all around. However, the best part of Costco is the free samples. You can snack and you shop this massive store. Employees are always giving out free samples of juices, soups, chicken goujons, etc. Be forewarned, they don't accept credit cards! So you have to use debit or make a mad dash to the in-store ATM. read more

This place is terrifying. Where else can you buy a bag of trail mix that amounts to your own body weight? Seriously! What's even more terrifying is the fact that Laura sampled a Jalapeno Popper under the guise that it was a "healthy snack" from the sampler. I mean it's nice that you can buy 3000 plastic cups on a budget from here, or that you can kit out your home to handle a huge party but I really don't want to see a place like this. The other day I was out and had a slice of chocolate cake, I saw that exact same cake on sale here, for the same price the slice I ordered. I really don't want to see that, it's like looking backstage at Disneyland. My world is falling apart. read more

This is a brilliant place just everything you could want except they no longer stock the wonderful kirkland 600tc bed linen in the single size and I have not been able to find equivalent quality any where else and believe me I have tried. Despite endless calls to head office and even the USA my favourite linens are not available. So come on Costco listen to your customers and bring back the single bed linens. It can take a while to exit this place with queues to pay but then its a popular wholesalers oh and they dont take credit cards only debit or cash so make sure you have the means to pay and give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the experience. read more

we used to go there. they don't have anything special, the prices aren't all that great (sometimes it seem so because the shelf-edge labels don't include vat- just like shopping in America) and you have to pay a membership fee. I just stopped shopping there. On a good note they do have some really nice cake for a good price :) read more

Costco is a chain of stores that does Wholesale Supplies. They have a wide variety of good for sales ranging from electronics, media, jewellery, designer labels, clothing, kitchen aids, fresh produce, meats, wines etc. Unlike any other regular store - you have to be a member to shop (either individual or trade). They stock the most goods that we use in homes and if you have a large family or enough storage space to put away the items than it may be worth to shop here because you to tend to save money in the long run. There is also a annual membership fee. The store layout is good, there is ample parking and the also have a small cafeteria for a meal. read more
