The fries were hot and fresh, and the queso with jalapeños was a really good combo. We got a large and it was easily enough for two people. With all the queso and sour cream, it gets pretty heavy and filling, so it's perfect for sharing. They actually have a lot of vegetarian options, which makes this a great spot in the mall dining pavilion for vegetarians. They also have Canadian poutine on the menu, which I would LOVE to try because I'm a big poutine fan, but unfortunately their gravy is beef-based. I really wish they offered a vegetarian gravy option too! We'll definitely be back. Service was very quick. The Triple Cheese Fries looked so good on the menu board, so that's already on my list for next time!

This place is located in the food court of Menlo Park Mall and they specialize in fries and hot…read moredogs. I've been here twice now and my experience both times were drastically different. The first time was a bit of a mess. Orders were slow coming out, customers were confused on if their orders were ready because they didn't really call them out, and the fries we got were limp (pictured) and they didn't fill up the basket AND skimped on the toppings. They were also unsalted but they provided a communal salt shaker where the napkins, utensils, and ketchup were so that was interesting. We went again and this time, they were more efficient and did make an effort to call out your order. The fries also held up better and were even crispy on the exteriors even though there was a slight wait between my two items. I also felt like there was an adequate amount of toppings and fries. There was no communal salt shaker and the condiment/napkin area was a bit of a mess and running low on items, but it was fixed when I notified them so that's good. Both times, we ordered: LARGE FRIES: it's a basket of fries around $8. REGULAR VEGGIE FRIES: this is their medium container of fries topped with cheese sauce, sour cream, and diced tomatoes. They also come with green onions but I opted out of that. It's a good combination of flavors and fancier than just fries with a hint of "veggies". It's close to $10. Overall, a good place for us - we're allium free vegetarians - to get a savory snack in the mail. Service seems to be all over the place and no matter the quality, no one seems happy about their job, haha. The fries do cost a bit more than at your typical fast food joint, but they're open 7 days a week. One of my kids has multiple food allergies and the fries here are gluten free and fried in sunflower oil. We usually go to Chick-fil-A for fries but we seem to only go to the mall on Sundays so NY Fries got on our radar. He is allergic to wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, and avocado (among other things) and he can have the fries here with no issues so we'll continue to support them.

TLDR: quick classic lunches with old school charm…read more I got the burger and fries from White Rose. The burger was the kind you'd always hoped for in the school cafeteria: a juicy, meaty patty sandwiched between a fluffy bun. The griddled onions set this apart and bring sweet-savory little pops of flavor. The store itself feels like an old school luncheon. Everything about the spot feels nostalgic in the best way.

(And that ATM machine at the corner? It looks like it'll not only steal your identity but your soul as well.) My last visit (2023-ish) I tried their 'combo' (one hot dog, one sausage) which was... okay. But when they're slinging a double Italian hot dog? They're firing on all cylinders. Tommy's is not shy to pile a wicked amount of grub into that pizza bread. The hot dogs kind of get lost under a mountain of deep-fried and oily (but delicious) sliced spuds. (I do wish they weren't so stingy with the peppers and onions to really balance out the meal.) The 'Holy Trinity' when it comes to Italian hot dogs in North Jersey is a no-brainer... Dickie Dee's, Jimmy Buff's and Tommy's. (For me - no one comes close to Dickie Dee's but my one kid said Tommy's was his [current] fave.) As for that couple that came cashless? A good Samaritan behind me pulled out a wad of cash (it's not wise to pull out a fistful of cash anywhere you go but it's ESPECIALLY not wise when you're in the rough and tumble streets of Elizabeth, let's be real) and after swapping Venmo information everything was a-okay. Take-out/to-go only. Parking is atrocious. Guy behind the glass - always aces. (Oh, and... cash only!)

Homemade chili is delicious and the cheese sauce is spot on. All ingredients are fresh, the truck is clean with cool art on it and you are greeted with a smile. The Chi Pleta was an experience, there is no eating this in a car so I didn't try, it's absolutely one of the tastiest things I have had anywhere in a while, one of a kind. I have had this style before in the city I work in but not nearly as good as this. In addition to the tremendous texture and flavor and maybe most importantly no one experienced any gastro issues following the meal, all clues that point to one thing, the food is high quality and clean and assembled to perfection. All around a very good experience, definitely glad I stopped and will be back there very soon. Thanks

6 bucks was too much for this…read more I ended up here for lunch as the line was too long at Quick Chek. The truck was visible from Talmadge Rd, so I pulled in. I saw that plain dogs were $2.50/ea and dogs with any toppings were $3/ea. I figured they had to be decent, so I got two dogs with chili and mustard. The dogs were not snappy(like a good dirty water dog), nor were they grilled. Bland is the only way I can describe it, and kind of a mushy texture. The chili was an all beef(no bean) canned variety, possibly Hormel, again lacking flavor or any spice. Going to a hot dog truck, you expect to get at least an average hot dog. I have had better Chili dogs from 7-11 at less than half the price. The lack of ANY other patrons at the truck at a highly visible location just after noon should have been a red flag. I won't make that mistake again.
