This past weekend my roommates and I decided to splurge on the Valentines meal, and wow I can't say enough about how glad I am that we did! They even threw in three things that weren't on the menu; fresh bread from Haight loaves, swordfish dip, and a smoked salmon fillet. There was so much food we were absolutely blown away! We started off with the beet salad with caviar dressing, then moved to the broiled oysters. Oh my god I could drink that sauce. And as always, the quality was top notch. The buttery crab with the bread was soooo good that we decided we'd have to save the very generously sized steak for another night, but we topped off dinner with the apple crumble and it was all just perfection. If you are looking for fresh, sustainable, high quality seafood this is the place for you.

I was concerned about getting the fresh dungeons crab on a Saturday but not eating it till Monday night. He told me he picks it up on Saturday morning and then delivers in the afternoon. So assuming he is getting it from fresh that day it should be good. The crab was from Eureka Oregon as the dungy season has not opened yet locally :( I ordered cooked , cleaned and cracked fresh crabs along with 1 pound of fresh crab meat and a pound of Japanese fresh scallops. Everything was fantastic. The fresh crab indeed was perfect on Monday and while the crab meat pound container was not quite as good it was still worth it. The picked meat was a good combo of large pieces and inside meat. The fresh cracked crabs were meaty, in fact two of the 4 were really loaded with meat. The scallops were particularly delicious and some of the best I have ever had. I of course over ordered and my daughter made a bunch of crab cakes the next night and she said they were awesome. So indeed One Ocean is sourcing really fresh and top quality product and delivering it for free or very inexpensively all around SF. Trust in them to deliver the goods.

Depending on the size they vary from $10.99-$12.99/lb. There is also a small selection of produce for anything you're looking to pair with fresh seafood. Btw! The floor is VERY slippery. Lucky Seafood is a very small seafood market offering a variety of exotic live seafood, including live crabs. They have two tanks for the Dungeness crab, one with a larger crabs and one with smaller crabs. There is very limited street parking so try to get there early. And they only take cash. That was my first red flag, but I still supported this business. I came here to purchase live crab for the holiday season, about $300 worth, then I came back to purchase the same amount a week later for New Year's eve, just to receive the worst service I've ever experienced considering how much money I was spending. The guy got upset when I wanted to look at the crab he was trying to quickly throw in the bag without me seeing it, so he got mad and just dropped the bag on the floor and said "here you look at it!" and he walked away leaving me there with a bag of live crab to search through. I spent a lot of money at this store for the treatment that I've received and after this experience I decided it was the last time. I now go to green fish in Chinatown where they also have live seafood offerings and the customer service is much better. Lucky Seafood also smells really bad inside and green fish does not. This takes me to "Ocean Seafood Market" where I stocked up on some seafood before my drive back to Sacramento. Located at the Ingleside neighborhood of San Francisco and directly on Ocean Ave and adjacent to Miramar Ave, this business is only a few blocks from City College of San Francisco. During my visit which was on Saturday 9/5/2026 at around 4:45pm, I was able to park only a block away which was a big plus. I also noticed that if you park on one of the residential streets off of Ocean Ave, parking is free and easier to find. The business itself has been around since mid-2022 and to those that might remember, this is where a laundromat once stood for many years. From the outside, there's not much to see besides a blue awning with the business name. And in case you're wondering, they are open 7 days a week from 10am-6pm. The inside of the store isn't quite the cleanest by no means but it is fairly easy to navigate towards the back where much of the live sea creatures are located. During my visit, I was able to pick up live Coonstripe Shrimp (also known as baby prawns) for $19.99/lb. I also bought fresh Dungeness Crab that was priced at a very reasonable $10.99/lb. And to complete my seafood shopping experience, I picked up a small variety of Uni (Sea Urchins) as well as bok choy and broccoli all at fairly reasonable prices. The food here is really hit or miss as much of this depends on the time of day you come. There was definitely a language barrier but the staff was polite and friendly. All in all, I had an above average experience at "Ocean Seafood Market". The real test was when I made the trek home and actually cooked all of this seafood. I will say that the finished product was well worth the money. My shrimp tasted amazing with the addition of butter and Old Bay seasoning while the crab had lots of meat that made every bite very savory. Even when I sauteed the veggies, this was fresh and delicious when I paired that up with the Uni. With that said and done, I am giving Ocean Seafood Market in San Francisco an above average four-star rating.
