This Costa Coffee can be found in the basement of the Waterstone's store on Sauchiehall Street. Like all bookshop coffee houses, this Costa is a great place to while away an hour or so, especially if you've picked up a couple of books along the way to leaf through. In fact, I've noticed a couple of people here who seem to be reading whole books. (Great way to embrace literature if you're too skint to buy books I suppose).
There's something about this particular Costa, though, that I don't really like. The placement of it is perfect, and it SHOULD be a much nicer experience than it is. The only two reasons I can think of for this is the fact that the staff are a little too brisk to really be friendly, and the fact that they rarely bother to clean the tables. This means that if you want to have a nice sit down with a coffee and a book - you'll have to clear yourself a table first. read more
