This Costa Coffee location is located inside the Odeon at The Trafford Centre, considering this is a coffee shop located within a cinema inside a mall, I was reasonably impressed.
To get here, you'll need to go up the escalators to the main cinema area, and you'll notice this Costa, right next to the ticket gate, if you're planning to come in for a drink without seeing a movie, you may need to just notify the guard, as it does cross the border with the ticket only area.
They are open until 9 pm, which is reasonable, despite being slightly earlier than Caffe Nero and Starbucks nearby.
If you're looking for a drink later in the evening, there is a 24-7 Starbucks on Barton Dock Road, just outside The Trafford Centre.
The actual inside area of this Costa is fairly attractive, it was much more visually pleasing than other Costa stores, with plenty of comfortable seating.
I ordered a Fuze Tea Peach Hibiscus Iced Tea, which came to £2.95, I am not sure if I was under or over charged on this occasion, as the drink would usually cost £2.80 in a small, or £3.10 in a medium, with a difference either side of £0.15. On this occasion, I paid less but with cinema locations often charging more, I presume she just charged me for the smaller size.
My drink quality was good, I enjoyed my ice tea and it was up to the usual Costa standards, with that being my usual order here as I generally find the coffee quality to be poor.
The barista who served me was friendly but forgot to add the special green bean for bringing my own reusable cup, I did manage to get this added after contacting Costa's customer services though.
3* - A good location to get a drink before/after watching a movie, or to take in with you, obviously a bit of a trek from the main mall if you're not a cinema-goer. read more
