There are never any problems with requests and if something isn't right they are always fine with replacing or re making. They accept starbucks cards and often have double stars etc. Can't really think of anything to criticise apart from the fact it is located on a petrol forecourt. If the location was better then I'd give 6 stars .

The downside to it in my opinion is a recent refurb in Sept/Oct (2016) left it feeling cold and like a supermarket cafe. Mostly wooden chairs and bland environment. Only 6... yes 6 easy chairs made of pleather (plastic looking leather!!!!). The new display looks inviting and staff still friendly... but for the customer... yes for you and me it's now not the front room style it once was, this is corporately of course as this store is one of many in the refurb schedule and now Starbucks think more of themselves than the customer... That said, don't forget of you don't ever like your drink for whatever reason, just go back and ask for it to be remade... it's their promise!

Ample parking just outside of the door, clean toilet facilities, comfortable seating, free wifi and the usual Starbucks product line up. You can also earn and redeem drinks with the Starbucks card/app here. Theres a small amount of outdoor seating for when the weather permits. Great place to have a business meeting if you're en-route to or from Manchester Airport, or anywhere on the western side of Manchester.

And by that I mean they don't charge ridiculous prices just because of all the other boutique stuff going on around them. I grabbed a quick chunky falafel and hummus sandwich. It was pretty dry but actually quite tasty, and it was only for a quick snack anyway. I like Pret. The sandwiches are nicely made, there's excellent variety, and this branch keeps to high street prices despite its exclusive location.

There are also a few tables for one to sit outside, but it isn't the most pleasant of environments, being located on a main road in a city. While some of the chairs were showing signs of wear and tear, it was reasonably comfortable and a suitable environment to relax and work, the opening hours aren't too bad either as the store shuts at 8 pm between Monday and Saturday, which is the average compared to rivals and other Nero locations nearby. I ordered my go-to Nero drink, an iced pistachio latte, my drink was made quite well and I enjoyed it, I would comment that I do find the iced drinks to be a little too small at Nero, even when bringing my own reusable cup, but I do appreciate the benefit of getting an extra stamp on my loyalty card for bringing a reusable cup, as it brings you a step closer to getting that free drink. The barista who took my order seemed friendly, but there was a slight issue processing my voucher on the till, he was fully apologetic for this which I appreciated as it wasn't his fault, but they do need to update their systems overall as it took an insane amount of time just to process a voucher and it slows everything down. 4* - Probably one of my favourite Caffè Nero's in the city centre with good beverage quality and service standards.

They fortunately had a little blackboard outside saying they were in fact open. On going in it was extremely busy and had a large queue for service. They are quite disorganised and took about 20minites to get through a queue of orders for 12 people not providing drinks that's just taking orders as they hand out numbers to take back to your table. Then another 20 minutes to receive my Flat White, yes just a drink, as they had one staff member making the drinks and then delivering them to the tables after each and every drink was made. Which also took a considerable amount of time as they didn't seem to look for the numbers they themselves had provided opting to ask random people if it was there drink. At least four times our group was brought incorrect drinks in their search for the right home. The coffee itself was quite decent. Glad I didn't order food though although others in my group did order bagels which took another 15 minutes. Sadly a decent cafe let down by very poor organisation.

I called in Costa Coffee today to grab a gluten free cake for my journey home from Wigan…read more I picked up 2 GF Cherry Bakewells for £1.55, Costa is normally good for Gluten free and also sells a brownie. I asked the man if I could use my loyalty card, and indeed he let me and I did, I had 95p on my loyalty card and I wanted to use that on my transaction but he told me, it had to cover the whole item which I know from past experience and the Costa website isn't true. It is hard to review a place where you only went in for pre-packaged food which wasn't made on site, a flying visit like this one but it looked like a nice store as you come in from the Crompton Street car park. It certainly isn't the best cofee shop in this shopping centre and on the streets just outside, I much prefer Starbucks and Caffe Nero to Costa and would rather visit smaller businesses like Muffin Break, rather than the UK giant as they have better cofee, a wide array of gluten free muffins and they are a smaller giant, with under 50 stores, I am sure Costa has this many in Greater Manchester. I feel it is unfair to give this store 1 star, but I don't want to give it higher than 2 because of the following reasons - They is much better a short walk away from here in the Arndale, or on the surroinding streets - Barista could of appeared to be more friendlier - He could of gave me the 95p off that really should of been used on my loyalty card - No Gluten free sandwiches avaliable which really upsets me as Costa and Starbucks used to have a GF wrap until the Christmas period, where they changed for a festive one and since then, not one store has reverted back to an old or different non-christmas wrap based on my numerous visits, if you read my reviews you know how often I go Starbucks so I am surprised to see this is also happening with Costa.

This Costa location has improved since my last visit, warranting an improved rating…read more It seems to be one of the few Costa branches in town that actually has a working ice machine, I've regularly been turned away from the branch inside Next, and the other branch on Market Street, in Piccadilly Gardens due to them suffering from a fault. The iced teas have improved significantly since Coca-Cola bought out Costa and replaced them with Fuze Tea, my go-to order here has become the Strawberry Mint Iced Tea, which is pretty good. The staff are friendly, there is a security guard who works here who is especially friendly/helpful, I do feel a little uncomfortable that a coffee shop has to have security in the first place, but he lifts that ease and is a good employee. PRO TIP: Bring a reusable cup and you'll get an extra bean on your loyalty card, meaning you'll get a free drink after buying four, rather than eight, do make sure your drink is the same size as the cup though, in my instance I used a much larger cup, and they watered it down to fill the cup, and it wasn't very pleasant. There are still a couple of issues, for example, I do find the coffee quality here to be poor, but I find this to be common at all Costa locations, other store specific issues include the awful WiFi and mobile data signal in the cafe, making it very difficult to get work done as it seems there's something scrambling the signal to make it non-existent, other issues include the opening hours being listed as closing at 9 pm online when they instead close at 7 pm, again not the store's fault but after informing head office they refused to acknowledge they had their opening hours listed wrong! 3* - An improved Costa branch, but not perfect.

One of the main positives about this Starbucks is the opening hours, as it is a standalone unit within a retail park, it is able to open much later than the store in the town centre, and they generally stay open until 9 pm during the week, which is much better for night owls like myself than 6 pm in the town centre. The pricing does remain slightly higher than other stores, due to it being a franchise location, and the staff still don't seem overly friendly, but beverage quality remains quite well, based on my recent drinks including my usual Cold Brew and an iced caramel macchiato. They have a good amount of comfortable seating too and do keep their interior quite clean. As of 2022, they are now accepting reusable cups again which is handy, if like me you like to bring the Trenta clear cup, which gets you a discount, and a bigger drink and also helps the environment! 3*
