I wanted to change things up and go to a different coffee shop to do work and since the rain started and this Costa was conveniently located where I was on Princes St then I said why not and give it a go.
You have to go up the stairs to enter this Costa and I didn't see an lift so that's a downer if you need a lift. The layout of this place is an open plan, reminds me of a industrial type office space. There's a great view of the Scottish art museum and the castle so if you wanna chill and people watch as well as gaze at the beautiful buildings, this is a great spot. The place is a bit loud with loads of tourists so if you're trying to do work, not really a good place. Good spot to meet up with friends and catch up if you're around the area.
The menu is standard. They have all the different types of sweet you normally find in any Costa. Since it's the holiday season, most of their drinks are holiday themed. I really just order coffee at these types of places... They don't have any filtered coffee, they have beans but honestly it tasted the same to me... Bitter, hard and rough flavour... Not like the gentle rounded flavour of Italian coffee. A bit pricey as well since it was £2 for a small cup.
I wouldn't necessarily come here coffee but the place is located in a great spot, they were quick, and "good enough" the seats aren't very comfortable and there's only one couch in the place that looked comfy to sit in. read more
