My friend and I weren't intending to eat here. We were thinking about going to Palermo's steakhouse right next door, but the aquatic/beachy atmosphere here was so inviting, we couldn't refuse. The waiter helped our decision by assuring us the food was good when we stopped to contemplate going here instead of Palermo's.
We split everything, except my selfish friend wanted his salmon all to himself but also wanted to try the lasagne like me. This forced me into ordering the chicken parm, which was a calorie-costly, but wise decision. The chicken parm was probably in my top 10, despite the sauce being a little watery or perhaps from the pasta being insufficiently drained. In either case, the chicken was perfectly breaded and I'm convinced the pasta was homemade. The lasagna was also delicious, but not on par with the chicken parm.
There's only two reasons I'm stuck on 4 stars:
1. Since we split everything, I would have expected new share plates for every course, but we had to ask for them.
2. While everything we had was good, I get the impression this place doesn't know what it wants to be. The menu is too big, ranging from streak to seafood to Italian to sandwiches. My advice would be to commit to the seafood theme and stick with it, or else change the decor and be something else. read more
