Let me start by saying Lihn is a very good stylist, in fact so good that I kept going to this location in spite of everything else that makes this place a nightmare. I miss the haircuts she gave and the stories she told. I hope she and her family all the best. This place is so badly mismanaged that I finally had to find someplace else after 7 years! The manager has the personality of a feral cat and customer service skills to match. "Mel" would be better suited as a short-order cook at Waffle House (she's too rude and crass to face customers). And the two times she cut my hair (before Lynn) I got to hear sordid details of rotten kids and delinquent exes while I got a bad haircut. Ownership has changed a couple times, they struggle to keep staff and have ridiculous turnover, call-offs, and inept stylists. Tension among employees is high when they're busy, due to incompetent scheduling and a website that is a mess. My final straw was when they double booked my appointment (for the 3rd time in 4 visits). My haircut was done 2 hours after my scheduled appointment time. Lihn, if you're out there somewhere, go someplace where you're appreciated, and drop me a line on my cell phone so I can find your new place of employment! read more

We got in without a wait & now I know why. Customer service was RUDE!! Stylist kept making faces at my child when she said how she wanted her hair cut and then told her, "You won't like it!" My child wanted certain parts buzzed with cutters and I had to instruct the stylist over & over to go back to spots she missed with very long hairs hanging. In the end the stylist only shaped one side of the buzzed undercut & when I asked for some layering on the rest the stylist literally looked at me and said, "No." I asked her again, "Please layer & trim the ends." She said, "No." Then I went to take a picture & she said, "No, no pictures. You can't take no pictures or video." I was so ready to get out of there and I spent an hour at home trying to fix it. We ended up going somewhere else the next day who actually listened & knew what they were doing. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! read more

The women that work there are so rude. They don't listen to what you want, she legitimately told my elderly mother she didn't want the type of cut she was trying to ask for. The stylist was also rough with my mom while she was in the chair, I wouldn't leave her side. We will never be going there again. read more

Lihn fit me in between appointments. My fiancé and I really messed up trying to cut my hair but Lihn made it look great!

My boys have always had pretty good haircuts from this Cost Cutters but my 18 year old son just went by himself requesting a low fade. After Kim finished cutting his hair, my son asked her if she could fade his hair a little bit better and Kim responded, "you're wasting my time, I have another client waiting." I was shocked to hear this. My son was so upset, he came home and scheduled an appointment with another hair salon in town to try to fix this mess. I really wish I could post a picture; nothing was cut straight, the back and the sides are not even, the "fade" (which is not a fade at all but a buzz above the ears) is at a right angle...terrible. read more

Some time ago I was becoming disenchanted, however Alex has been my go to for the last 3 years and will continue to be for as long as she remains. Melody is also great. Went in to get my hair "trimmed" told her I did want layers and to leave the length of my bangs long! She totally trashed my hair and it is so short-she ended up taking off 5 inches and is still uneven with so many layers! I had a wonderful experience here! From setting the appointment to getting my hair cut, the stylists were professional, kind, and helpful. Additionally, I was able to set a hair cut appointment for just a couple days out. I got the adult cut, and was so happy with the attentive yet efficient job my stylist did. Ms. Linn is my preferred stylist. She not only has wonderful skill in women's hair but is a great men's barber as well. It's hard to find a real barber in a solon. But she is the best. I have been seeing her every month since she started at this location. They have other skilled staff and most are pretty good, i just prefer her, she knows my hair, she knows what i want. I don't even have to remind her of what i need. She just gets it done. She also does ear, eyebrow, and beards which is greatly appreciated with a full face of hair as ive gotten older. I have to sing the praises of two stylists at cost cutters. Alex is truly an artist with my hair. she was able to see my vision and bring it to fruition. I knew I would be a challenge and she accepted the challenge without hesitation. I have been fortunate to find not one but, two stylists of the highest caliber. Katie is truly amazing and has done my hair in the past. I originally came in feeling down about my appearance; after she worked her magic I felt great about myself again. If I could give it a negative star I would. I came in here to get my sons haircut (he's 19 months) and it was awful. Completely crooked and he was just uncomfortable the whole time. He's had haircuts before but at a specialized kids place and it's always awesome and he isn't uncomfortable. I understand he was moving a little but I could tell the lady was just irritated and that definitely didn't make me happy. Needless to say, we will not be returning. I live in founders so this place is very convenient, I have tried several of the stylists and Katie is my favorite. I do like the way that they listen and really try to give you what you want. If I could give 0 stars I would. My mom went in to get her hair cut, simple. She just wanted a trim and add in a few layers. She had a picture of what she like and what she didn't. She had to explain to the hairdresser 4 times how she wanted it. This lady couldn't even speak English. It took her 10 minutes to just enter the phone number to get started. Once she started cutting her hair it took her an hour and a half to do it and she only cut my moms bangs, attempted styling it without being asked and damaging my moms hair with the flat iron she used. My mom was so upset when we got home she cried. I would not recommend this cost cutters to anyone. read more

I have been here a couple times and it was never above average but my experience today was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in years. After being told it would be a 30 minute wait, I went home and called ahead for 4:30 pm. I showed up at 4:20 and was told by Katie that I am next up. At 4:45 another family came in and at 4:50 one of the stylist took that family ahead of me after being told twice by Katie that I was next. It was like I was invisible and she made a point of never looking me in the face the entire time I was there. I'm not sure what I did to deserve this treatment but it really ruined my day. Of course I wanted to walk out right then but I'm simply too busy to throw away an hour sitting in a hair salon. So, I waited for Katie to finish her customer. She cut my hair in 10 minutes, so I waited 40 minutes for a 10 minute haircut even after calling in an hour before. I didn't know they had a VIP club but I guess they must, and I wasn't VIP enough. read more

I have been going to this particular Cost Cutters for a year now and every time Katie cuts my hair I walk out feeling great. She really spends the time to make sure you get exactly what you want. Everyone in the shop is extremely friendly and I will continue to go here even if if I move out of Castle Rock. read more

Usually I see Rachel. She does an awesome job with my hair! It's naturally curly and she is the only person I've ever had cut it and loved the results every time! She apparently doesn't work there any more. If you know where she went please please please let me know!! read more
