Lasagña was t bad either. You have to try Belgium waffles while in Belgium, obviously. Servers were friendly but forgot about a few of our dishes. We waited forever until everyone got their food. We sat outside during a rainy day but the restaurant itself seemed classic with a wooden rustic vibe.

Traditional Belgian restaurant with friendly service near Porte de Hal. I ordered the Rabbit Stew…read morein Kriek Beer (€26), which was more like two large pieces of meat cooked in stew but not actually a stew (with some fries too). The rabbit meat was surprisingly tender and the stew/sauce added some nice flavor. For those who haven't had rabbit before, it takes kind of like chicken to be honest, just with smaller bones. I think the price was okay considering the quality and type of dish. The fresh grapefruit juice (€5.80) was very good too. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and attentive. I was seated right away and the service speed was pretty quick. They have a decently sized indoor space as well as outdoor patio seating. The environment has a traditional Belgian restaurant/pub kind of vibe. Overall, Le Bistro has high quality traditional Belgian food in a pleasant setting and I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area near Porte de Hal / Marollen.

If you're not situated on the outdoor terrace to watch the world pass on by, then they have plenty of cozy seating inside in the form of bench tops. A couple of TV's scattered about which are guaranteed to be showing a football or rugby match. Food is limited and consists of cheese, bread, and sausages (snacks). Somehow glad that we were corralled into this cafe by the riot police after the clashes between Moroccan and Belgium fans following the World Cup match. It was a pleasant respite away from the chaos ensuing outside.

A cozy little cafe on quiet Place Rouppe next to the renowned Michelin two-starred Comme Chez Soi…read more Cafe Bebo has ten beers on tap (think Westmalle Dubbel, Malheur 10, etc.) and another 70+ to suit all tastes in the bottle (including gluten-free Brunehaut Amber), all at very reasonable prices; 3.50 Euro for almost all drafts and bottles! Even the Trappists like Rochefort 8 are only 3.80! Food is limited to quiche, sausage, and cheese, and be forewarned, they only take cash (a common phenomena in Brussels). A nice jazzy sound-track, and newspapers hanging in holders by the bar add to the appeal. But the best thing about Cafe Bebo? The large outdoor area facing Place Roupe; perfect for a sunny, or (this being Belgium after all) a non-rainy day.
