I understand that the name has been changed from Sally's to Sally's Beauty Supply to invite customers who may be in need of a broader base of hair, makeup, nail polishes and tools, dryers, combs, etc. to cover a larger gamut of supplies that may be needed for women. They even offer an extended product line for men, that I wasn't aware they had. So, if men are looking for a wider range of professional hair products, manicure equipment and the like than they would find in a typical department store, they can be found here. All of their products are professional grade and the staff are super friendly, answer all your questions and are very helpful. My wife had been looking for a good, quality, professional set of hair curlers and with the help of the staff, found them. It was nice to know that if they didn't prove to be helpful, she could bring them back for an exchange or full refund. While we were there, a husband and wife, two of my ESL students, came into the store. They spoke Portuguese and very little English. They and the staff helping them were initially frustrated trying to communicate what she wanted for herself. My friends were trying to let the staff understand what they needed by repeatedly typing into their smartphone for an English translation. But, when using a device for translation, you really need to have a pretty good idea of what you are wanting to say. She wanted something for her thinning hair to prevent it from breaking and falling out. That message is hard to translate. As hard as the staff was trying to get the idea, it just wasn't happening. I was glad to be in the store and notice the problem. With the little bit of Portuguese that I know, I was able to ease the frustration and help the staff understand what they wanted to buy. Although, with as much patience and effort (gestures, broken English, etc.,) they would have been able to understand what was needed. I applaud the helpfulness, and willingness of Sally's Beauty Supply to patiently go the extra mile to assist their customers.

Despite the initial confusion, I felt that the service was wonderful. I purchased a service through Living Social, and I am switching to Ilona as my regular esthetician. She was very friendly and professional. Her pleasant demeanor made the waxing session go by in a blink.

If you want the same service you'd receive from a doctor at a much higher price, you've found your place! I purchased an Eversave for a facial with Skin for All People. This is in the Studio Elements on 5th & Northwest. I arrived very confused & convinced I was in the wrong place. Eventually someone found me & took me back for my facial. I expected to change into a robe & lie on a bed under the covers for my facial. Instead I kept my clothes on & was told to lie on a table you'd find in a real doctor's office. There were some aspects of a facial - scrub, exfoliation, extraction. No massages & the woman talked to me the entire time. At the end she attempted to sell me over $200 worth of products. I did buy one of the products then went home to find out it was prescription only (how did she sell it to me without writing a prescription) & can be purchased for much less than the $60 I paid.
