I reached out to the virtual receptionist by phone and she was able to help me relatively quickly. The North Scottsdale location was clean and tranquil. My tech (Yeleny) was patient, knowledgeable, and efficient. I appreciated that she asked a few additional questions before getting started which led us to switch service from waxing to sugaring. That attention to detail may have saved me so much pain, scarring, and embarrassment! Thank you Hello Sugar team for a great experience!

This is a great location; clean, beautiful inside, and very well-kept. The specialists here are…read morefriendly, skilled, and provide excellent service. Parking is also easy and ample since it's in a shared plaza with other businesses and a grocery store, which makes coming here convenient. However, the biggest challenge with this location is the efficiency of the check-in and check-out process. There is no dedicated front-desk person, which means the sugaring and waxing specialists are doing everything, performing services, answering phones, checking in clients, checking out clients, and managing walk-ins. Because of this, the wait times before and after the appointment are consistently extended, even when the staff is doing their best. The specialists themselves are great, but it's almost impossible for them to give a fully hands-on, focused experience when they're simultaneously trying to run the entire front-of-house. I understand wanting to cut costs, but the administrative side of the experience is too important to overlook. Even a part-time receptionist or intern would make a huge difference in the flow and overall customer experience. I genuinely like this location, but whether I return will depend on whether they improve this operational inefficiency. If you're in a rush or need a quick, smooth in-and-out appointment, this may not be the ideal location for you at the moment. I hope they consider adjusting their staffing model, because the specialists themselves are wonderful. I had Kenzie before and she was amazing but no longer here as of last month. I tried out Savana and she was amazing also and made the experience so pleasant, fast, and professional

I was able to make an appointment same day & was fortunate enough to get an appointment 20 mins later. I saw Hannah & she was very nice & efficient. It was a quick appointment. She did a good job. The wax didn't hurt & left minimal redness. She offered a cooling agent or moisturizer when she was done & I declined. I never do because I'm always concerned about an allergic reaction so out of caution I always decline. I don't have any personal experience with their products beyond the wax. Truly, the redness wasn't that bad & went away fairly quickly. It's cashless checkout which is fine as that seems to be the way most places are going these days. I was given the sales pitch for buying a package of waxes. It's not a monthly subscription, simply a package of waxes. I declined not because it wasn't a reasonable price for the packages but because I'm really bad about going in consistently to anywhere that isn't the eyebrow threading place in Surprise that I'm used too. My eyebrows don't grow enough to go every 4 weeks & I don't want to go to have like 6 hairs waxed from each eye. Maybe one day I'll be a better adult & make consistent appointments. For now, this will have to do & I'm happy to know this place is close to me, has convenient hours, & reasonable prices. I would go back but not sure when.

I don't write negative reviews, and I wasn't going to -- but after reaching out to request a…read morerefund, being refused, asking them to reconsider and explaining my situation further, and then receiving no response, I feel I should share my experience. My appointment started nearly 20 minutes late. When we went in for the body polish the table was dirty and had to be reset, and the service wasn't explained beforehand, which was uncomfortable going in blind as a first-time client. She also had me touch the tan on my body during the service, which you should never do, and it left spray tan all over my palms. I did not have my palms or nails wiped off at the end either. When I brought it her attention upon leaving (as well as other white spots all over my hands) she sprayed more, which I think ended up making it worse. She tried wiping off my palms at that point, but they were already stained. I paid over $80 total -- which is higher than other studios in Scottsdale, and I have never had a bad experience anywhere else. I still left orange and splotchy with the polish and primer add-ons -- photos attached. The girl who did my tan was nice, but maybe less experienced and appeared to be managing the whole studio on her own. When I reached out, the response was "sorry that you were unhappy with your service" -- but this wasn't about being unhappy, it was a service that wasn't done correctly. It feels like I'm being treated like I did something wrong. I was told I needed to come back in for them to review what happened, which would have required me to leave work early, and that since I hadn't done that I wasn't eligible for a refund. They did offer a free tan as a "gesture of goodwill", but I don't have confidence anything would be different next time. When a tan is orange and patchy, the only solution is to remove it and redo once the old tan is gone -- not go back for more. I'll be trying somewhere else. I ended up having to buy tan remover, a remover mitt and went in the pool several times to try to remove the solution and it's still stuck on there over a week later. I wanted to love this place as it's close to home. I hope they use this feedback to improve the new client experience. If someone turns down a free service, that might be worth reflecting on.

They didn't take me back until 1pm so waited about 25 minutes and was late for my following appt :/ the waxer in general was great though. I ended up booking my next appt with her only to receive a text just now she left the company. This is the second time a waxer I've loved has left. This tells me either EWC isn't paying their employees well or the management doesn't know how to keep great working staff. I'm pretty fed up at this point and glad I only have 2 passes left. I will not be renewing my wax pass after being a loyal client of 7 years.
