Not only was he incredibly well prepared to start school in IPSD 204 from an academic standpoint, but also socially and emotionally. The school is very well run - with top notch communication and a staff of talented, caring teachers. The staff put on regular education nights for parents, and with no judgment, really helped me identify how to be the best mom I can be. While in the Kindergarten program, our son was asked to be a leader in the classroom and take on more responsibilities. It was so wonderful to watch him thrive and be cared for by an entire staff of smart, devoted, and empathetic women. Thank you so much, MCG, for giving our son the best start! I can't help but wonder how wonderful the world would be if every child got this kind of start. MCG is truly a special place!

As soon as we toured MCG I knew this was the place for us and it is honestly one of the best decisions we have ever made. Our kids grew their love of learning in a supportive and loving environment. Each and every teacher and staff member was amazing. Our children were given opportunities to grow and develop academically and social-emotionally. When they started attending public school, each of my children was ahead academically. One of our boys can be a bit rigid and challenging, and his teacher Ms. Jennie worked with him so well that he soared academically and behaviorally. Their hours are good for working parents and they even have fun summer programs.

Academically, our son's concentration skills, ability to hold a pencil and actually write his name, recognition of sounds and letters, and understanding of numbers have improved dramatically. He has been introduced to concepts I previously thought were beyond his age - but he has embraced them, and retained them: continents, flags for our countries, historical figures, planets, environmental topics (like the importance of saving water), parts of the root, even words and songs in a second language (French). He takes great pride in whatever "works" he has brought home for us to see - from workbook pages to a handmade card or picture. Personally, our son has developed valuable social skills being with his peers and teachers each day. At home, we see a newfound sense of peace in his independence. He dresses himself and gets ready for the day with little parental help, will pick up his toys and put them in their proper places without being asked (much of the time!), and is a cheerful participant around the home-offering to help me with any task I happen to be working on. I feel my son is safe in the school when I leave him for class and find him happily playing on the secure and somewhat secluded playground with his friends and teachers at pickup. Ms. Siji is always accessible and has been very approachable for any concern we have faced this year. The class size is small and I feel she really knows my child and truly cares about his growth. Works are often rotated to keep the interest of the children and the classroom is a very inviting space for them. You will be amazed at how your child will truly blossom in this environment!

The first day that my 4 year-old son…read moreattended the school, he came home happy, cheerful, and proud to be a student of "Montessori school." He felt safe, included, and confident as a new little learner in his classroom. His enthusiasm and interest to learn and explore new things grows everyday. I cannot thank enough his teachers for guiding and encouraging him to learn and explore new things in school. I found everyone working in this school, right from the administrators to the teachers, to be caring, dedicated and compassionate individuals who love working with children. They work tirelessly to support and guide them in order to help them gain meaningful knowledge at their own pace. In short, this school is a hidden gem tucked away in North Aurora road and all parents who want their children to experience authentic Montessori method of learning in a school, should definitely visit and explore this school. I only wish their organization had a prominent website that was solely dedicated to the school and shared their curriculum, vision and mission. Had there been a proper website of this school instead of the "montessori unlimited", we would have enrolled our son long ago when he was 3; we learned about this school from a friend and I'm so glad we visited them soon after. Thus, a prominent website and/or a strong presence in social media will, I strongly believe, help many more families to be aware of this wonderful school that provides authentic Montessori learning experience to children.

Our older daughter has attended Cosmic since she was 2 years old and has had an amazing experience…read more We toured and interviewed several Montessori facilities in the area and chose Cosmic because of its unique layout and beautiful grounds. The first thing you will notice when you walk into the building is complete silence...no kids running around and shouting. Everything is very orderly and calm. The children are usually busy with their "work cycles" and they truly love the structure that Cosmic gives them! Our daughter's vocabulary exploded within a few weeks of starting class simply by talking with the other kids! We had been struggling with potty training and she got it down within a month after encouragement from her classmates! She is now in the 3-6 year old classroom and can count to 100, recognizes basic words, and loves to help us cook at home with her plastic knife. She also loves talking about what she learned from the "big kids" in her classroom. The staff are all wonderful to every child, even those who are not in their classroom. Every teacher in the building knows our daughter and get so excited to see her when we drop her off. She was taught by Ms Mayra in the Harmony Room (2 year olds) and by Ms Namita in the Journey Room (3-6 year olds). We have had nothing but positive experiences with both. In the Harmony Room, we received daily emails at the end of each day reporting what she ate and her bathroom activity, along with any comments (ex. "She made a new friend today!") and daily pictures from her activities in the classroom. It has truly given her confidence and fostered her sense of independence! They try to take the kids outside for a bit every day - this is aligned with the Montessori curriculum - they only skip outdoor time if the weather is too bad. They hold seasonal activities such as ice cream social in the summer, weekend trip to Morton Arboretum in the fall, picnic in the spring, etc. which is nice for us parents to meet each other. They also have holiday events such as Valentine's exchange and breakfast on Mother's Day. We love it all! If you are hesitating on whether or not to send your child to Cosmic, just do it! Sylvia and her team are truly the best!

This is not a traditional school, they allow children to make mistakes and encourage them to find the answers. They support the children in learning how to communicate with each other in addition to teaching beyond educational standards in arithmetic, writing language science and so on. My children left Montessori and felt that the public schools were not able to keep pace with what they learned through these programs. They have both expressed that their public school experience is socially disappointing because the students are often unkind and treat each other with disrespect. While my children were encouraged to help peers there public student peers are often concerned with shaming and putting peers who are different than themselves down. Fox Valley Montessori taught my children that learning is fun, that curiosity is a value. My children learned to be respectful, they learned how to manage their work and it is serving them quite well in high school as they manage their time for finals and AP classes. This is not a traditional school, it is so much more, this school teaches your child what community is. Their Montessori education has prepared them far better than I could have imagined and I cannot recommend this school enough.
