Well, that was interesting…read more The Good: This venue is very spacious and in a very rural part of PA. When I walked in with my family they had a very large ballroom completing Cowboy style line dancing. I am not knocking it, I would totally be down for line dancing, keeps you fit and I can say it is certainly something I have never done before. The Bad: I went to see the comedian, Kevin Nealon. I last saw him in Philadelphia over ten years ago and he was amazing last time. Would you believe he did the SAME act that he put on over a decade ago? He changed some of the jokes slightly, but I was kind of astounded he put on the same act! When he came on stage, he looked very high and I have to ask myself did he go to an old routine because he was high? Any who, my family who saw him enjoyed his act. One other qualm I had was whoever was instructing the cars to park would not allow us to come close to the venue to drop off people that have issues with mobility. The owner of the place did go on stage and was very friendly and did a short routine that was very welcoming, I would recommend if you are in the area to check it out. I do not think I will make it back to Pottstown, PA anytime soon but if you are in the area SoulJoel's could be a fun outting. As always people SYOY!!!

It is the only local venue that is historic, comfortable, and amazingly lovely. The seating is also wonderful, and I noticed when I was there to see the show, they are doing fundraising for renovations which is important for others to still have it available for future generations. Plus, it also was the place THE BLOB was filmed there! Check it out!

We love the theater and are big fans!…read moreIt's much easier driving into West Chester than Philadelphia, the parking is cheap/free, and the neighborhood is safe. Everyone at the theater is so welcoming, and we walked in without a wait or any lines for the restrooms. So, what was the problem? Some audience members were out of control and/or intoxicated. Thankfully, we were on the second level, but right in front of us on the first level, we witnessed two fights. One started when one of the audience members who was visibly under the influence kept standing and holding up his beer. At one point, I believe he spilled beer on a patron and a fight ensued. The unhappy couple who had the beer spilled on them walked out, and no one from the theater came over to handle the situation. Shortly thereafter, another man from the same group started yelling at a woman who was seated. He stood over her wildly gesturing as if ready to strike her while a patron seemed to try to grab his arm from behind. Audience members kept looking back to see if anyone was going to address this situation. By the way, this all happened during the show which was extremely distracting and distressing. Finally, the theater manager came over to escort the man and his friends away. However, the man came back and tried to go back to his seat. Again, he had to be escorted away. If the theater is going to continue to serve alcohol, they will need to hire security particularly during shows similar to this one--and not just a theater manager. This is needed to keep their audience members safe and to continue to ensure a quality experience.

They have a great selection of classic arcade machines plus some newer setups, including a Switch 2 and old school Nintendo games from the 90s. The best part is it's only $8 an hour for unlimited play, which is honestly a great deal. When we went, we basically had the whole arcade to ourselves, so it was easy to move around and try everything. The staff was super friendly and welcoming they even interacted with my 2 year-old and made her feel included too. The cafe area was nice too. We only grabbed drinks and a muffin, but that muffin was really good, which is way better than I expected from an arcade cafe. Overall, it's a fun place to spend some time, relax, and revisit some childhood memories. Definitely recommend checking it out.

ADORABLE times a million!!! A post from our stop through in…read morethe summer, and we cannot wait to be back! We decided on a whim, in a drive back home from errands, to pop over to Salford Station. It was early July and about 3:30pm. There's a cute outdoor seating area with some lawn games, but it was quite warm so we headed inside. We explored the house - quaint, inviting, homey. So inviting, you sincerely do not want to leave. The front sitting porch with rockers is darling (will be our spot next time). We decided to sit upstairs on the couches. There is a dining room area with a long table and chairs- this absolutely took me to envisioning how sweet a small party would be to host here. All throughout- the furniture, decor and vibe felt just comfy and cozy. Our server greeted us warmly and was attentive the whole time. We enjoyed a relaxing few drinks. I believe it was the I'll Met By Moonlight bourbon cocktail and the gin-based Damn Good Cuppa Tea. My husband also tried a bourbon flight. This was happily found with favor. As a bourbon guy with a mature palate, craft spirits are not typically his thing. However, Salford's bourbons were clean, no burn, some body. Perfect day date in a perfect place. Am obsessed over this gem!
