She was eating, drinking, bright, alert of responsive. The next morning at 600am during breakfast time she appeared lethargic and not very responsive. I called Mt. Pleasant in hopes that Dr. Mangold would be in as she is an exotics specialist (among other things.) I called Pleasant Paws their sister hospital and the receptionist made contact with Mt. Pleasant and told me to bring her in right away for 9am. I arrived a bit earlier around 833am. The staff was kind, helpful and brought our bunny immediately into an exam room and got her on a heating pad. Shortly after AND well before 900am Dr. Mangold appeared at the bunny's side. As per usual, Dr. Mangold is an excellent listener, patient, soft spoken, confident and super smart. She knew what was going on with the bunny immediately. As for me, I have total confidence in Dr. Mangold and the staff. I had zero worries about leaving our bunny with them. Whatever Dr. Mangold thinks is good for me as I have complete trust in her ability to medically care for my animals and to do whatever she can to get them better. Dr. Mangold called twice throughout the day about 2 hours apart. Knowing that she had a busy schedule and was taking care of plenty of other pets this was VERY meaningful to me. She went out of her way to contact me and give me updates. This bunny is my daughter's pet and let's just suffice it to say that later on in the day Dr. Mangold had a moment to interact with my child and let me suffice it to say that the manner in which she interacted with her brought tears to our eyes. Dr. Mangold is an outstanding veterinarian AND equally as important she is an outstanding human being. She was empathetic, soft, caring, she looked at my child directly in her eyes and once again listened intently to my daughter's words. What more can you ask for in a veterinary practice. The staff got us in ASAP, and the veterinarian is amazing beyond words. Dr. Mangold you truly a one of kind person and professional. Thank you.

A little over two weeks ago I left a poor review based on two "false negative" intestinal parasite…read moretests. I was upset because it delayed treatment of my dog. However, since that time both the veterinary office and the vet owner, Dr. Vali, have taken the time to look into the matter, treat my dog, and going a step by providing the meds for free and discounting the visit. More than I expected and more than compensating for a bad experience two weeks ago. I've been with this practice for over 30 years through multiple dogs and cats and have referred them to friends looking for a vet. I feel the remedy was more than fair and I applaud Dr. Vali for addressing this personally With me. I look forward to continued relationship for all our pets.

I first took my cat here to see an opthamologist last summer. I had taken him to 2 separate vets…read morefor issues with his eye due to allergies and scratching. (We tried a new vet local to us since moving, but decided to go back to the one we trusted, an hour away). Both vets prescribed prednisone drops among trying other things. Our regular vet suggested it was time for a specialist. I'd called several places and no one had an available appointment for months. Some had an office visit charge of $400+ and insisted on doing bloodwork although he already had recent bloodwork done. Finally I called Newtown and got him an appt for the same week, and it was under $300 for the exam. The opthamologist we saw that day is no longer there, but our experience was a positive one. I found out his eye issue was a herpes infection that was not resolving due to the prednisone. Something completely missed by the regular vets. She also recommended entropion surgery for his eyelid that was turned in (later discovering his eyelash had fused to his eye). Fast forward to last week... I brought him back to the vet because of changes in the appearance of his eye. He had a "corneal sequestrum" which is dead scar tissue from trauma. We were monitoring it to make sure it didnt become an issue. Back to the opthomologist in Newtown - this time we saw Dr Crabtree. The cost of the visit was only $202, billed as a followup from last year. I feared surgery, but she told me his eye was attempting to heal itself by pushing out the dead tissue, which was a good thing. Surgery would be $4000, but she is confident he wont need it. She prescribed antibiotics drops but didnt make me buy them there, since I had some at home already. The plan is to recheck him in a few weeks, and remove any loose tissue at that time. Such a relief to hear good news. My worry woth specialists is that they want to do expensive procedures and testing, but this was not the case here. Contrary to another review I read, my cat was treated with care by all staff we encountered.

Your feedback is important, and we are committed to improving our service. Please call (203) 270-8387 and ask to speak to our hospital manager so we can address your concerns directly. We appreciate your patience and hope to provide a better experience in the future." So I called the next day and was on hold to 7 minutes before being to that you were in a meeting and could not speak with me. They could not have known that in less than 7 minutes? This is exactly the sort of service that is so poor and beneath the level of medical care. Let's see if I get a call back as promised?

Despite treatment, he continued to have seizures. When I called the clinic about this, they simply switched his medication without proper follow-up or care. Months later, in October, my dog suffered a horrific seizure and was rushed to the emergency vet. That is when I was told the truth: the dosage of medication Berkshire Veterinary Hospital had prescribed was far too low for my dog's size and condition. Because of this, his epilepsy was not properly controlled, leading to a massive seizure, severe brain damage, and ultimately the loss of my beloved dog. This loss was preventable. If my dog had been treated correctly and carefully from the beginning, he could still be alive today. I am left completely heartbroken, traumatized, and angry. I trusted this clinic with my dog's life, and that trust was misplaced. I will never return here, and I strongly warn others to be extremely cautious. In my experience, this clinic did not show the care, attention, or urgency that our pets deserve. My dog deserved better.

We just recently went away and boarded her with our 1 year old labradoodle. We communicated with them before dropping off and then at drop off that both dogs should receive the same services. Today, we went to pick them up and looked at the invoices and were very confused. Our labradoodle was kenneled the entire time when we told them that he should be participate in "day care" ie playing with other dogs. Our female beagle, on the other hand. participated in the doggy daycare services. The labradoodle is very large and active, so to find out that he was left in a cage for the entire week is devastating. When we picked him up, he looked extremely anxious and was shaking. We immediately called them back after discovering this on the invoice, and the receptionist was very dismissive and said that her manager wasn't there (at 3:30pm) to explain where the communication breakdown occurred. She kept saying it was our fault, although we told them on three different occasions that the dogs should be receiving the same services. She said he needed to pass a "screener" for the daycare, which is fine, why didn't they do it!? We had called them at least three times as we were worried about the labradoodle while we were away because this is his first time being boarded and we wanted to be sure he is okay. We were told each time he was "doing well, going to the bathroom fine, and playing well with the other dogs." But, were then told he never played with anyone and was stuck in a kennel the entire time? Additionally, we found a charge on our invoice that they were to call us (the charge was listed 3 times) because our labradoodle wasn't moving his bowels. Although we were charged for this, we were never called, which makes me even more concerned -- there was something going on with the dog which they felt compelled to charge us for, but never communicated it to us?

I first heard about Dr. Robb because of the extraordinary advocacy he has done for animals, advocacy unlike anything I have ever seen or heard from any other veterinarian. That alone spoke volumes about his character and dedication, but meeting him in person confirmed everything I had hoped for. From the moment I met Dr. Robb, he was a breath of fresh air. He provides compassionate, thoughtful, and genuinely accessible care. Most importantly, he respects both the animals and their owners, never forcing unnecessary treatments or making me feel pressured into decisions. Instead, he listens, guides, and empowers you to make the best choices for your pets. His staff reflects that same level of excellence. The front desk team is consistently kind, attentive, and welcoming. In a world where it's become normal to sit on hold for 30 minutes just to speak with someone, I was amazed that I could simply call and reach a real person who was eager to help. I live over an hour away, and distance means absolutely nothing when it comes to the quality of care my animals receive here. I would gladly drive five hours if it meant my pets could continue seeing Dr. Robb. Thank you, Dr. Robb, and thank you to your incredible team. From the bottom of my heart, I am deeply grateful for the care, compassion, and integrity you bring to both animals and the people who love them.
